The Patriot Post Mission of Service to our Armed Forces

"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for his friends." (John 15:13)

The Patriot Post is a leading advocate for American Liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values.

Of these areas of advocacy, none is more vital than our mission in support of national defense, and by extension, our mission of service to the men and women in our Armed Forces. Today's uniformed Patriots stand ready to "to support and defend" our nation with their life. It is for that reason that we request no financial support from our military readers around the world, opting instead to provide our publications and resources to them as a small token of our gratitude for their service.

I am a humble descendant of generations of Patriots. My father, and his father before him, were Naval Aviators in WWII and WWI respectively. Our family lineage records veterans back to the American Revolution. These men have heeded the call to serve others before self, and have sacrificed accordingly. This personal backdrop, which has stewarded my full appreciation for generations of veterans, is a driving force behind The Patriot Post's mission of service to our nation and the military personnel who defend her.

Throughout history, the burden of keeping the flame of liberty bright has fallen on the shoulders of a few men and women. As Founding Patriot Samuel Adams once noted, "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." That is true today with Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.

John Adams noted, "National defense is one of the cardinal duties of a statesman." Indeed, it is the supreme constitutional duty of our president to make provisions for a strong national defense.

If history is a good indication, then the best way to secure peace is through strength. Our Founders understood this. George Washington, in his First Annual Message in 1790, said, "To be prepared for war, is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace." Thomas Jefferson concurred: "Whatever enables us to go to war, secures our peace."

Si vis pacem para bellum.

But each generation of Americans have been besieged with those who opposed a strong military. At no times in our history has such opposition been more dangerous than in times of war. As James Madison wrote in 1787, "America united with a handful of troops, or without a single soldier, exhibits a more forbidding posture to foreign ambition than America disunited, with a hundred thousand veterans ready for combat."

President Ronald Reagan certainly understood the principle of "peace through strength" — which is why the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics disintegrated under his tenure.

Today, America's uniformed Patriots are confronting a formidable enemy around the world — a terrorists acting as surrogate warriors the borderless nation of Islamic Fascists, Jihadistan. And today, as in times of war past, there is no shortage of armchair policy makers and opinionists who are undermining support for our Armed Forces in time of war.

To that end, The Patriot Post, under the able leadership of many veterans now serving with our National Advisory Committee, has become one of the nation's leading advocates for our Armed Forces and their mission — not only by providing millions of Americans with the right perspective on that mission and the demanding tasks our military personnel have carried out with pride, but through Operation Shield of Strength. This outreach to uniformed Patriots on the front line, and their family support groups, has backed the distribution of almost 1.4 million Shields of Strength dog tags. We have distribute hundreds of thousands of our "Patriot Primer on American Liberty" pocket guides to military personnel. We have also supported other special services to military personnel and their families.

Patriot Post and our Patriot Foundation Trust, in keeping with our our Military Mission of Service to our uniformed service members and veterans, are a proud sponsors of the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, both the Honoring Their Sacrifice and Warrior Freedom Service Dogs aiding wounded veterans, the National Veterans Entrepreneurship Program, the Folds of Honor outreach and Officer Christian Fellowship, the Air University Foundation, the Naval War College Foundation, and the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation.

The Patriot Post is proud to support these organizations.

Finally, all purchases from The Patriot Post Shop not only support our mission of service to our Armed Forces, but many of the items sold through The Patriot Post Shop promote the five service branches.
