The Emasculation Is Complete
At least according to our leftist overlords, who rejoice in weak men via the rejection of “toxic masculinity.”
A disturbing trend among famous males has been gaining momentum over the past few years. Hollywood elites or other famous male stars are choosing to dress either like little boys or in a feminine manner for their red-carpet appearances. This is their ultimate expression of rejecting so-called “toxic masculinity.”
Several aspects of this trend are worth examining. Perhaps the saddest example is British musician Sam Smith. Ever-more desperate for attention, Smith is appearing in public in increasingly gender-blurring attire. His latest appearance was at a fashion show.
As political pundit Ben Shapiro put it: “From the chrysalis of Western culture, [a] final version of Leftist man has now emerged. This leftist butterfly has now emerged. Sam Smith used to be a normal-looking gay dude. And then it turns out that he was gender nonbinary or gender queer or whatever it is that he calls himself now. And he actually just looks like a freak show at this point. There’s no other way to put it. Again, he looks like if Braveheart had a baby with Mad Max had a baby with a Judith Butler book, that’s what Sam Smith looks like.”
There’s another aspect to this trend that describes male celebrities who, unlike Smith, seem to be otherwise straight. Gen Z has a word to describe these celebrities: “babygirl.” Though “babygirl” can be used even more loosely to describe an antihero-type older male heartthrob. But here are the pertinent examples of who Gen Z classifies as “babygirl”: Pedro Pascal, Jacob Elordi, Harry Styles, and Timothée Chalamet.
The New York Post defines “babygirl” as “A man who … comes across as sweet, charming, a bit bashful and seemingly in touch with their feminine side, ready to talk about their feelings or carry a purse to brunch at any point.”
The interesting part is that, though Hollywood is happy to dress these men in softer or more feminine attire, most women have come out swinging, saying it’s actually not attractive at all; they prefer masculine men. The Daily Wire’s Brett Cooper has the receipts.
However, there really are some women who are buying what the “babygirl” cultural trend is selling.
Why?
This rising generation has been fed a steady diet of toxic feminism and has been preached to about “toxic masculinity” their whole lives. Like the Millennials before them, Gen Z women are told they don’t need men because there’s no difference between the sexes — only to then find out at age 30+ that they don’t want to be “girl bosses” but mothers and wives. Our rising generation of men has been raised by gentle parents who are constantly having them check in on their feelings instead of teaching them how to be resilient in a world that routinely chews up and spits out people. We are living in a smothering matriarchy.
Then there is the birth control theory. Women in these latter generations were the first to really begin taking hormone replacements at a young age to manipulate their natural cycles and prevent pregnancy. Some studies are now claiming that the side effects of long birth control use alter the brain, making it less stable and also changing the type of man a woman is attracted to (i.e., a more feminine man).
Then there’s the whole porn aspect. There is a brand of porn that celebrates the sissyfication of men. It has contributed to gender confusion, and the porn industry knows it.
All in all, this rejection of masculinity that is being sold by the leftist elite is harmful to society. We need strong, brave, manly men, otherwise we are left vulnerable.
No wonder military recruitment is down. No wonder women are more miserable than ever. No wonder there is a steady rise in male suicidality and poor mental health. The leftist elite are lying and selling us something that neither men nor women really want. Blurring the lines between sexual norms is messing with us. It’s not the freedom or utopia that leftist “tolerance” bullies paint.
