Save Our Ship, Sarah
· Tuesday, April 5, 2011
It is time for Sarah Palin. According to pollsters and pundits, she may not seem the obvious choice for 2012, but no "obvious" choice has been identified. So, allow me to enumerate my reasons; it will give my critics clear, concise targets to engage. Their criticism is welcomed, but it will only serve to strengthen the resolve of the grassroots who will elect Palin.
1) In his book, "The New Reagan Revolution," speaking to and about Sarah Palin (pages 84-85), Michael Reagan brings to clarity the forces opposing Sarah; the grassroots who elected his father and will also support Sarah; and what she must do to win. It looks like a plan for success.
2) In my perception, "The New Reagan Revolution" began in the ramp-up to the November 2010 elections. As yet, the revolution has no clear, singular leader. Perhaps more than any other individual, Sarah Palin has the Reagan-like qualities and presentation of her message to be that leader.
3) The Tea Party, with tireless support and efforts by Sarah, made the difference in November. If not for those hard won gains, America would have lost all hope of surviving the onslaught of the socialistic policies, unprecedented spending and debt creation of the Obama regime. Those bold and angry, grassroots Americans who are the Tea Party brought focus to the urgency of our problems. We also owe Sarah our gratitude; while contributing to the cause, she proved she could inspire and lead.
4) The new, conservative Congress will attempt heroic measures to stem the tide of spending, but the damage that already has been done will likely add double-digit inflation to our present burdens. By 2012, the situation may be beyond critical. We will need a new leader that can inspire confidence and resolve, as Reagan did. We will need a leader to stand firm against corruption in government regardless of party affiliation. We will need that wonderful mix of a populist and a fiscal conservative who can lead and inspire while doing what needs to be done.
5) Palin critics have used much of the same rhetoric and tactics that were used against Reagan. He won by a landslide, twice. They underestimate Sarah Palin in much the same way they underestimated Reagan. She can win for all the same reasons Reagan won.
6) There is a great deal of substance to Sarah Palin that went unnoticed by the casual observer in 2008. Additionally, the liberal media did everything possible to diminish her, and still do. But, Sarah stands on solid principles and strong, traditional values; traits that America loved in Ronald Reagan, and loved in her in 2008.
7) Since 2008, Sarah Palin has bounced back with the same resilience that America will need to face the trials ahead. She has learned to disarm critics with warmth, humor, or maybe a bit of sarcasm. She can also blast them with righteous anger. She is a winner.
Letter to Sarah Palin:
Thank you, Sarah Palin, for all you have done for America. You have done more while not holding office than most with seats in government have done. It is clear: without the revolution beginning in 2010, our liberties as well as our money might all be gone by 2012.
But, as you know, Sarah, success in November has only purchased our nation a little time. The hope it engendered in the people, however, has already empowered our new leaders in Congress to take the fight to the enemy. Sure of the support of the people, they have already begun the difficult task of restoring the financial strength of America.
The handwriting is indeed on the wall: America must restore our financial strength or lose our liberty. Time is short.
Time is short. The appeal is urgent. America needs your help. We need a new leader in 2012. Let us return to the principles, values and courage that have made us great. Let us be victorious over the forces of evil that surge at our gates.
We want to remain "the home of the brave and the land of the free." But, we know our bravery is going to be tested and our liberty is in great peril. We know that without financial stability America is helpless in the nets of our enemies.
Will you help us, Sarah?
I am not a political expert. In fact, in the eyes of many of your critics, I am nobody; just a slightly right of center, average American citizen. In other words, Sarah, I am typical of the millions upon millions of citizens of America who believe in you, as you believe in us. You believe we are somebody; that is why I appeal to you.
Liberals, media, and even many Republicans underestimated and misjudged Ronald Reagan. More importantly, they misjudged the American people. They thought a moderate candidate, or even a progressive, would reel us in with more "bread and circuses." They thought that after Carter, we would want change, but not too much. A true conservative, like Reagan, was not to their liking. The people saw it differently.
We loved every word that Ronald Reagan breathed. The "experts" were wrong about him, and about us. He helped us find hope in ourselves and encouraged faith. The change he sought was a return to principles and values that would lift us out of the haze so that we could see the horizon and pilot the ship on a straight and true course.
We have considered the contrasts of the hope, change, and course set by Reagan and those of Obama; they are startling.
Sarah, the "experts" have missed the mark again. You have already helped to energize a new revolution. The situation is far more extreme, but the American people are ready to remove Obama, as we did Carter. Obama is an astute politician and a very good speaker; he was a formidable opponent in 2008. Voters allowed the media to successfully sell him. But, now we know where he really stands. He will be a one-term President.
We know that nominations are hard to win and campaigns have a tremendous financial cost. Your platform at Fox News and effective use of the Internet will help. As your positions, your ideals and your commitment become clear to a broader base, additional financial support will follow. The money seems to flow toward the emerging leader. Be that leader, Sarah.
Who will be our next President? I believe it should be Sarah Palin. I believe it can be Sarah Palin. I believe there is strong support for that result among the grassroots now, and that it will spread to a broader base soon enough.
Your love of this nation is clear. I appeal to you, Sarah, to lead. I have appealed to you with reason. I leave you with the following, believing both are true:
"The vitality of the GOP is in its roots; its grassroots." (Michael Reagan, "The New Reagan Revolution")
The vitality of the entire nation is in its grassroots people. (Yours truly)
Sincerely,
George Rogers Clark

She's a good leader. What must happen is a ground swell of Patriots who are religious and principled enough to inspire a leader to want to battle the enemy.

I completely agree , and endorse Sarah Pahlin as there is no one , I mean no one , right now that has America as their best interest at heart and has the 'stuff' to stand up and get it down. Do we all agree what a great American and Patriot Senator John McCane is? We all love and respect him for what he has done for America , and it was by no accident that he saw these ideals in Sarah Palin as a running mate.
My only comment on our current status quo of leadership , is that I am embarrassed for us all , that we have allowed what is happening to us - to have happened in the first place.

I truly believe that Sarah Palin could be the next Ronald Reagan. The problem lies with those in the republican party who do not, for whatever reason(s), would not support her. There are some very powerful (spelled: financial support mechanisms) people who have already voiced their contempt for her (maybe soothing that over later with the sincerity of an Al Queida letter of condolence) and will even if under the table support another candidate to her demise. It is those who need to be collared and held to the fire of the revolution of the Tea Party. The Tea Party itself is viewed by many established republicans as just a passing movement as opposed to what it really is: the VOICE OF AMERICA!
If we ever expect to see Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket against any democrat, then we need to do some serious homework with those of our chosen party. They either take her seriously or they loose OUR support.

What about John Bolton. He has international experience, is very smart, and believes the test of policy is to subject it to America's interest.

Amen to one and all. Especially Sam. VOICE of AMERICA indeed! I too believe Sarah needs to somehow win the Republican nomination while retaining her entire Tea Party ideals and platform. I believe that is what will win her the massive grassroots support that the party hierarchy cannot deny. Thanks for adding value to the readers with these comments, everyone.
I really do not know anything about John Bolton, but I will check it out. Thanks for that reference, too.

The best reason I know that Sarah Palin is not fit to be President is that she actually thinks she could be. And comments like the first one about leaders wanting to battle the enemy--don't we want leaders to bring people together? If you see others as "an enemy" they most assuredly will be.

Finding a politician that wants to do the right things is rare, but the politician with the courage to start and the tenacity to finish the job is most rare.
Sarah has stood up to corrupt Republicans, and corrupt oil companies, and anybody else in order to do her job and serve the people. She shows no fear of the Obama regime including the press. For more than two years, she has been THE target - putting herself in political harm’s way. She has shown the fortitude others can only promise.

An excellent letter, with compelling sentiments. We should all remember that it may be weeks or months before Sarah Palin indicates whether she will run. Those that support her candidacy must remember it is ultimately up to her to decide when, strategically, to announce her decision.

Bill589 said it as well as I could hope. Thanks, Bill.
*Martin Pal*, thanks for your feedback, too. To clarify my point, because Martin has a good one, the "enemy" I see as my biggest concern is the lack of fiscal responsibility in Washington. They will never cut spending enough unless they cut the size of the federal govt. Personally, I hope someday we can, as a nation, afford to be a friend to all people, at home and abroad. America has been a friend to its own people and a generous friend even to the people of other nations. But if our nation goes broke, we will not be able to help anyone. It is the Utopian in me that screams for conservatism now, so that we can have the future means to the end we all truly desire.
Again, thanks to all for the great comments.

Strip away the policital jargon, the ego driven I, me, and you have a language that people can understand. Sarah, by her actions, if you read her accomplishments -- and anyone who wants the truth can, and will see she is what she says she is. Just one very engaged all American gal with the love of her family, country, and world at heart. Her down to earth respect for those who serve, and gave their lives for us to stand here, say what we want, whether it be positive or negative is crystal clear. No challenge! Her understanding of where we are, and that is not where we need to be if we want to retain our life, our liberty, our sovereignty, and our independence. No challenge! All these virtues have not brought us to inhuman and animal behavior. We have not created a leader who would slaughter it's own people in cold blood. We have created, no, rather allowed misguided leaders, who have tried to go back in history and repeat lost causes. We are young and have made mistakes. But, we have never allowed leaders to turn on us and kill us just because we are here. Killing, however does not always mean -- gun down. This misguided present administration is trying to kill our stand and respect in the world, our sovereignty, our constitution, for yesterdays lost ideology. We fled old ideology, we fled wrong doings to humanity, we fled for better living conditions. We prevailed! We became the beacon of light for all to see. When humanity has been attacked, we go, we help, we prevail, and then rebuild, restore, and give back. What part of that - Can you not be proud of?? Sarah understand that. No challenge! Sarah, may not be perfect, (although she is the closest thing I see), she is red, white and blue to the core, she has been honest, direct, and unafraid to face her enemies, mostly with respect. How she can keep her dignity and not come out and dissect these people in the media attacking her, only indicates to me her skills that will be needed to rebuild our sagging world relationships. Just read, educate yourself who Sarah is, what she is, what she stands for -- then tell me she isn't what we need. BUT don't talk to me until you've done your homework on one very important American young lady named Sarah Palin. Thank You

Truly pray and hope Sarah will run for President in 2012. I've felt that she was the one in 2008 and more definitively in 2012. Mordecai gave Esther the explanation of why she should submit to "running" as the new queen of Persia during King Ahasuerus' reign: "Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
(Esther 4:14). This statement seems as apropos today about Sarah as it did about Esther for all the reasons you've so eloquently stated about our country, Sarah and more. May the outcome be the same.

I have no doubt that Sarah Palin is not only qualified, but that she has just about everything this country needs in a leader. Should she choose to run, I will support her in every way possible.
However, don’t be disappointed is she does not choose to run in this next election. I see a very real possibility that she will pass on 2012 for a number of reasons. Not the least of which are the continuing conflicts in the middle east.
Who ever is chosen in 2012, they will have a new, and highly challenging, situation to deal with in that area regardless of the outcome of these conflicts. With the general opinion, and lack of respect, held for women in that area, 'President' Palin would have an extremely difficult task in dealing effectively with the powers in the region, no matter who they are. The same difficulty could exist in many parts of Europe as well.
Here at home is a different story though. I think she is exactly what We The People are praying for in a leader. Ohe that has what it takes to defend our interests against those that would change this country into the Liberal ideal of a nanny state.
If she is given the backing that I believe she has earned, and assuming she maintains her ‘Momma Grizzly’ attitude, she could finally make America a place where loving God and Country is once again in style. Now wouldn’t that be special?
Besides, catty as it may be, after the way she was treated in the last go-round, nothing would please me more then to see Sarah send Barack back to Chicago with his tail between his legs, and smarting from the ‘grizzly’ scratches on his back side.

Bill above writes, "Finding a politician that wants to do the right things is rare, but the politician with the courage to start and the tenacity to finish the job is most rare."
Finish the job? You mean like resigning your job of Governor of Alaska? That's real tenacity. IMO, Sarah Palin is a sideshow. She will never be President, if she runs at all. And if by some miracle she did win, she'd resign before her term was finished anyway. So go for it, Sarah!
GRC, you wrote: "...my biggest concern is the lack of fiscal responsibility in Washington. They will never cut spending enough unless they cut the size of the federal govt."
I agree with you if you include the military in this. GWB got us into a war we never should've gotten in to the tune of how many millions a day to keep it going? The price tag is staggering. For nearly a decade? Yes, lessons from Vietnam -- don't get the average citizen involved, no draft, no new war taxes, hands off the military budget...
Smoke and mirrors.
"Alaskan1st" has it right.

Martin Pal, you wrote that the very fact that Palin thinks that she could be president disqualifies her. By that logic, every person who has ever run for that office lacked the qualifications. That's ludicrous.
I have a lot of respect for Palin, much more than I do for the empty suit currently infesting the White House. Would she be a perfect president? Nope, no one would be. Humans are flawed. She does, however, have good portions of both common sense and basic human decency, which have been lacking of late in the highest offices of our nation.
She certainly seems to frighten the wits out of Liberals. That can't be a bad thing.
How could things possibly get worse than the current situation, in which a narcissistic, feckless poseur holds the reigns of a powerful nation that he seems to be bent on destroying?

Yes, I wrote that the very fact Sarah thinks she could be President disqualifies her. And that is not logic, it's an assertion of "the mouse that roared" principle. There are a lot of people who think they can do things they cannot and people that follow them. And, if one disagrees with your assessments, you then get the people who start name calling--writing that what you say is ludicrous, that you are lying, can't be trusted, that you're empty headed and of course it follows that you're a liberal.
Facts are facts. You can believe Sarah Palin resigned for reasons of the highest principle--that the people of Alaska and the U.S. would be better served if she had her own reality shows and book tours and be a news commentator, but she did resign and not finish out her term of office. If that's a quality you want in your elected officials, then go for it.
And the fact that you just spout that I am lying, or that because I disagree with you it's illogical or even that I am a liberal, doesn't make it true, it only makes it more comfortable for you, so you don't have to realize that there are a lot of educated conservatives that think Sarah Palin is just what you think President Obama is Michael--an empty suit--a narcissistic, feckless poseur. If you don't think conservatives can't find a better candidate than Sarah Palin then this country is indeed in trouble. "She frightens the wits out of liberals" is not the best campaign slogan I could think of.
This tired mentality of "us vs. them" is what's really an insidious problem in our country right now and it's what Sarah Palin knows how to do best-cast her role as a vanquisher of enemies who are trying to bring down the country. What we need are more people that know how to work together, whatever there political persuasions. Sarah does not play well with others.
I'm more worried about the cost of these wars that we're in than discussing Ms. Palin. Here's a link to a page which will calculate how much you paid for the Afghan war last year, based on your income and filing status. You can even automatically generate an e-mail to your elected representative in DC, right from that page, if you think you paid a little too much for that war. http://rethinkafghanistan.com/iou/ Budget deficits indeed.
What woould Sarah do?

In the end the contest is good verses evil. Good working together with evil for the sake of us all getting along is equivalent to good surrendering to evil. Sarah Palin is good. Through her actions she has proven this simple fact beyond question. Sarah Palin does not compromise with evil. I start each day on my knees in prayer, I end my prayer with a request to the Almighty that he save our country. Just as the Almighty helped George Washington he will help Sarah. There was an encouraging sign today when good (David Prosser) triumphed over evil (Joann Klopenburger) in the Wisconsin supreme court election. I pray and believe good will triumph over evil in 2012 when Sarah Palin beats BHO.

Dave, if God answers your prayer then Sarah Palin will never be president. While you're on your knees in prayer, why don't you pray for some enlightenment of your own and stop casting everyone in terms of good (if they believe everything you do) and evil (if they do not). I don't see all people with differing opinions as evil, it's a shame you've been corrupted into thinking like that.
You know the quote, "The meek shall inherit the earth?" Meek, in that sense, means teachable. To see everyone who's different or has differing opinions as all evil means you've lost the capacity for being taught, or enlightened. For compassion, for love. For truth. I say, to you and others of your ilk, "forgive them, for they know not what they do."

George, please consider an opposing view: "Amendment 19 and the women’s vote assisted in neutering America’s men, similar to what occurred in Isaiah 3 when Yahweh removed the men from their capacity as leaders and replaced them with women:'For, behold, the Lord, YHWH of hosts, doth take away … the mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, the captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them…. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.' (Isaiah 3:1-4, 12)"
Note that while men were the problem, women ruling over men was the resultant curse.
Excerpted from "Amendment 19: The Curse of Women's Suffrage" at http://www.missiontoisrael.org/biblelaw-constitutionalism-pt28.php.

Ted Weiland: Again, thank you for a most insightful comment. I trust your references and hope to review when time allows. You have not, however, stated your position. As for mine, I believe America is a land of opportunity for all. As for the blessings and the curses issued from the Lord and reported in the Old Testament, I believe those were for those people in those times and His purposes, power, and love will be fully revealed to all the world when Israel stands alone against Gog and Magog where by the power of the Lord they are victorious.

I probably shouldn’t say this, but there are some of you here that are simply twisted. You would have to be to think that Sara Palin would not serve this country to the best of her ability. And, in my opinion, her ability far exceeds anyone that has occupied the oval office in decades.
Bill Clinton, for a Democrat, was a fairly good President. He at least had the ability to listen to others, and was smart enough to know which way the wind blows. He wasn’t much help to our military, and he could have done better in other more personal areas, but he tried to do what he thought was right for America.
While George Bush was, for the most part, a very good President, he had his failings as they all do. His were fairly minor, and if you hadn’t noticed, he had a very Liberal congress to contend with for the last two years.
Where Barack Obama is concerned, if we survive his Presidency it will be positive proof that God really does love America.
The point is, some of you are searching the Bible 4 to 5,000 years ago to find a reason why Sara Palin should not be President. Let’s be serious folks. Sara Plains’ qualifications are at the very least, as good as any of these men’s ever were, and in some cases far superior. For heaven’s sake, she can’t do any worse then Obama has, and if your any kind of a human being you cannot set yourself against her simply because she wears a skirt.
As for God. With the attitudes I get from these ‘opinions’ I doubt seriously that He will be too interested. God will do as He wills, and your bigoted ideas of what His word says will have little to do with His decision. Actually, with the way this country has turned away from Him, I’d be surprised if He involves Himself at all.

Sarah Palin has not done anything substantially wrong or bad. So why are the critics so much against her? Liberals see her as a real threat to their liberal values of promoting gays/lesbians and not promoting God in the lives of people. Critics from the conservative groups including some republicans feel embarrassed that Sarah Palin is not so educated and polished in her style and presentation to the public. They see her as potentially rigid and uncompromising and therefore may not get the votes of the so called independents to get enough total votes to win. So it is fear, ignorance, pettiness and negative speculation the big overall reasons why they dislike Sarah Palin but none of these are fundamentals and cannot change the movement of the current that Sarah Palin will stand in the election and win to become the first woman president of the USA.
