As Rome Burns

The State of Disunion speech was predictable: all our problems are the fault of The Rich not paying enough taxes. The millionaire Marxist, who has never had a real job, yet has somehow has gotten "filthy" rich, demands fairness! But what, pray tell, is even remotely fair about 47 percent of the population paying zero, zip, nada in taxes, yet soaking up a hugely disproportionate share of what the taxes go to pay for? The Saul Alinsky version of Marxism that Obama-Soetoro adheres to appears to define fairness as, those who worked hard to get an education so they could get a good job, must now hand over most of what they sweated and sacrificed to earn, to the willfully ignorant who have never worked hard at anything in their lives.

The rich Fraud-in-the-White House is actively escalating his campaign to destroy the Constitution. He seems to think that lack of action by Congress justifies him ignoring the Constitution and the Rule of Law, and bestowing upon himself dictatorial powers. Unfortunately, he's getting away with it. Instead of impeachment proceedings being cranked up after his blatantly unconstitutional, and therefore patently illegal, "recess" appointments, and his contemptuous refusal to appear in a Georgia court proceeding, Congress appears to have slunk away, tail between its legs. Running dogs, indeed.

But then, why shouldn't the Marxist-in-Chief continue on his crime spree? Has not his Attorney General gotten away with multiple counts of negligent manslaughter in the Fast and Furious debacle? Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) whose oversight committee has been trying to investigate Fast and Furious, seems to have been hung out to dry by the Republican establishment. Eric Holder, with an arrogance exceeded only by Obama-Soetoro's, has lied to and stonewalled the committee without consequence. Does anyone remember the self-righteous -- and successful -- Democrat outcry for the removal of Bush Attorney General Alberto Gonzales after he committed the heinous offense of legally firing some federal prosecutors? Night and day, folks, but then, Gonzales was Hispanic, and Holder, as he is hair-trigger quick to point out, is "black."

And while we are all watching the right hand of the magician, totally distracted by the media-created freak show that the Republican presidential primary has been turned into, his left hand is about to use the so-called Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to destroy America's ability to feed itself.

The EPA is set to announce the raising of the standards for dioxin, which occurs naturally in the environment and in nearly all our food, to levels three times higher than those in eco-paranoid Europe (http://junkscience.com/2012/01/05/epa-dioxin-standard-to-make-food-unfit-for-consumption/). Ben and Jerry's ice cream, for example, ironically, made by staunch left-wingers, would, under the new standards, become a toxic substance. In addition, superfund sites that have been cleaned up at a cost to the taxpayers and corporations of billions of dollars, would be subject to retesting, and reclean-up (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/environment/article/EPA-crosses-the-line-with-proposed-dioxin-667094.php).

This comes on top of other EPA use of fraudulent "science" to attack the energy industry in America, without which, America crashes and burns (http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/energy-intelligence/2012/01/19/lisa-jacksons-epa-throws-out-science-for-politics; http://finance.townhall.com/columnists/johnransom/2011/12/22/obama_sides_with_whackos_over_workers_kills_another_3000_jobs).

So, as the fires in Rome crackle merrily, the Marxist Democrat Party and their Republican establishment running dogs prepare to pour gas on it...no wait, the EPA has banned gasoline...uh...to roast hot dogs, then...no wait, the EPA has banned hot dogs, and smores, too. Oh, well, they can still go out play golf with Obama-Soetoro.

The upshot of all this is that Congress has become a useless appendage of the Welfare State. The Democrat controlled Senate has degenerated into a political tool of the Marxist left, refusing to pass a budget, obstructing legislation that would clearly facilitate economic recovery, all so they can claim that we have a "do nothing Congress," thus justifying the executive branch's unconstitutional assuption of dictatorial powers.

The Senate, like a dark, vermin infested cellar, needs fumigating and illuminating. All the Democrats up for re-election need to be replaced with real Americans who believe in the Constitution and the Rule of Law. This also, without exception, applies to Republicans. This is the body that gave us far-left political hacks instead of qualified judges on the Supreme Court, abrogated its advise and consent responsibility regarding presidential appointments, and will be responsible for approving or rejecting a number of U.N. treaties, all of which will irreparably damage our country. We cannot allow this appalling behavior to continue.

One would hope, too, that with a Congress composed of men and women to whom honor has meaning and the Constitution is sacred, that the 17th Amendment would be repealed, and the selection of senators be returned to We, the People, rather than political parties, controlled by the likes of George Soros and his neo-fascist pals.
