"The circumstances that endanger the safety of nations are infinite." --Alexander Hamilton

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

Editorial Exegesis

"[Attorney General] Eric Holder's move to try the 9/11 masterminds in Manhattan makes it official: This administration has reverted to pre-9/11 'crime' fighting. Amid all the talk during the attorney general's surreal press conference of the 'crime' committed eight years ago, the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon wasn't even mentioned. Lest anyone forget, the military headquarters of the United States was attacked that day along with the Twin Towers. An entire wedge of the Ring was gutted when the Saudi hijackers slammed American Airlines Flight 77 into it. Nearly 200 military personnel were killed, along with the passengers and crew of the hijacked jet. The jet was a weapon used to attack the very center of our military. That was not a 'crime,' as some say. It was an act of war. And 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, along with the four other al-Qa'ida terrorist co-conspirators Holder wants to try, are no mere criminals. They are enemy combatants -- and should be treated as such. ... Holder clucked that the 'trials will be open to the public and the world.' And they will turn into circuses, playing right into the hands of the enemy. These trials will drag on for years, perhaps even decades, as defense lawyers file endless motions and appeals. Meanwhile, valuable intelligence about interrogation techniques and other methods we've used against al-Qa'ida will be revealed to the enemy during trial discovery. This move to a civilian court makes no sense at all, except viewed through a political prism. ... It will only remind people how much America has shrunk in the last nine months." --Investor's Business Daily

"The malice of the wicked is reinforced by the weakness of the virtuous" --British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

"We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst." --British novelist and Christian apologist C. S. Lewis (1898-1963)

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." --American author Mark Twain (1835-1910)

Upright

"From indictment to trial, the civilian case against the 9/11 terrorists will be a years-long seminar, enabling al-Qaeda and its jihadist allies to learn much of what we know and, more important, the methods and sources by which we come to know it. But that is not the half of it. By moving the case to civilian court, the president and his attorney general have laid the groundwork for an unprecedented surrender of our national-defense secrets directly to our most committed enemies." --columnist Andrew McCarthy

"In the string of amazing decisions made during the first year of the Obama administration, nothing seems more like sheer insanity than the decision to try foreign terrorists, who have committed acts of war against the United States, in federal court, as if they were American citizens accused of crimes." --economist Thomas Sowell

"After 9/11, we fought back, hit hard, rolled up the Afghan camps; after the [Danish] cartoons, we weaseled and equivocated and appeased and signaled that we were willing to trade core western values for a quiet life. Watching the decadence and denial on display this last week, I think in years to come Fort Hood will be seen in a similar light. What happened is not a 'tragedy' but a national scandal, already fading from view." --columnist Mark Steyn

"President Obama traveled all the way to China to praise the free flow of information. It's the only safe place he could do so without getting heckled. With a straight face, Obama lauded political dissent and told Chinese students he welcomed unfettered criticism in America. Fierce opposition, he said, made him 'a better leader because it forces me to hear opinions that I don't want to hear.' How do you say 'You lie!' in Mandarin?" --columnist Michelle Malkin

"In the U.S., the call is for government control, through regulations, as opposed to ownership. Unfortunately, it matters little whether there is a Democratically or Republican-controlled Congress and White House; the march toward greater government control continues. It just happens at a quicker pace with Democrats in charge." --economist Walter E. Williams

Legacy of the Reagan Revolution

Fellow Patriots, our 2009 Annual Fund campaign is underway. We raise almost 60 percent of our budget in the last two months of each year.

As you know, The Patriot is not sustained by any political, special interest or parent organization. Nor do we accept any online or e-mail advertising. Our operations and mission are funded by -- and depend entirely upon -- the voluntary financial support of American Patriots like YOU!

Your generosity and commitment have made it possible to offer The Patriot without a subscription fee to our military, mission-field and especially collegiate readers -- the young people from whose ranks will come our next generation of leaders. We are also able to authorize the free redistribution and reprinting of our publication through various academic, media and political outlets and forums, thus reaching a very large audience.

"Thanks fellow Patriots for allowing us to reprint your commentary. It is rare, in today's publishing world, to find a first rate resource like The Patriot which permits its original content to be republished without charge. That policy certainly serves your mission, and ours." --State Family Policy Institute

Additionally, your donation will maintain some of the best research and advocacy resources on the Internet, including The Essential Liberty Project, Reagan2020.US (the most comprehensive tribute to Ronald Reagan on the Internet), and our Armed Forces outreach service, Operation Shield of Strength.

As with other mission-based, donor-supported organizations, we raise most of our budget in the last two months of each year. As of this morning, we still must raise $281,748 before year's end.

If you have not already done so, please take a moment to support The Patriot's 2009 Annual Fund today with a secure online donation -- however large or small. If you prefer to support us by mail, please use our printable donor form.

I thank you for the honor and privilege of serving you as editor and publisher of The Patriot Post. On behalf of your Patriot staff and National Advisory Committee, thank you and may God bless you and your family.

Sympathy for the devil: "Now that you've had the opportunity to speak with him a couple of times, do you think -- and this is not from a scientific or even legal standpoint, but just as you've been able to speak with him, do you think he's competent to stand trial?" --CBS's Harry Smith to Col. Victimitis: "The prospect of a Democratic Congress curtailing reproductive rights as a price for health-care reform is yet another reality check for those of us who thought Democratic control of Congress and the White House heralded a new day for progressive policies. ... You have quoted C.S. Lewis and note that he was an "Irish novelist." Please correct this, as he was much MORE than that. He was a very important BRITISH Christian apologist, in addition to being a "novelist." You underrate him.

I like the Warner rebuttal to Ian McKellen. People are allowed to have an opinion, but who would waste their time to analyze a babbling moron. Such insanity dominates the media and this administration. I'm patiently awaiting the day ordinary Americans finally tell these idiots to shut the hell up, I hope it happens during the 2010 election.

There's more than enough rhetoric about what the President(?) has been saying or not saying. What he's been doing or not doing. Somewhere along the line, someone has got to start a program to reverse this perversion. There is only one place that this mess can be cleaned up. That is in the pulpits of America. Both political parties are like two rams butting heads in the middle of the field. Neither one gaining any ground on the other. Our problems will never be solved in Washington D.C. Like Ronald Reagan stated; "Washington D.C. "IS" the problem. The Clergy in this country have got to get back to preaching the word of Almighty God, and stop worrying about protecting their tax exempt status. Amen

The delay in making a decision to send more troops to Afghanistan is costing the lives of our Armed Forces. And it sends the message to the terrorists that we are not committed to the defense of our country. Also, it is surely causing a morale problem. I can't blame any soldier for feeling that our country has put him or her in the line of fire without the means to return fire. How is one to know whether or not a court martial awaits if you kill an enemy combatant trying to kill you. Or you didn't read their "Miranda" rights before shooting. What is our CIC thinking when he allows terrorists to be judged in our court system? A military tribunal is the proper procedure and has been for the past 200 or so years. The excuse that we have as an Attorney General is incompetent at best BUT he could be fired by the President unless the President agrees with his way of interpeting the law. Whatever we need to do needs to be done now and not after the barn door is closed. Makes one wonder which side the congress and present administration is on. Hmmm

Mark, this the first thing I have ever read on Patriot Post to which I take exception. I have great respect for your efforts. However, I think it may be short-sighted to call an article on BioGas power generation a "Stupid Story". I happen to work for a company currently contracted to design/build such a plant (along with solar and wind components) to power and heat our local justice center here in the midwest, which consumes $500,000 in energy costs each year. I really don't think it's "stupid" but I'm not emotionally damaged by the insinuation! Keep up the good work, my friend, and I'll have a check in the mail soon for the Patriot Fund!

This administration's policies are tyrannical and destructive to all that America's freedom loving patriots have defended and continue to defend. Just how inept can the leader of this great nation finally become? Look at this civil trial of KSM and other cowards who attack our nation. Where will Hasan be tried?

Now recall the number of states this president said were in this union. Was it fifty eight? Does that say anything about this man?

What you are missing is that the move to try the terrorist here accomplishes two of Mr. Obama's goals; they will get off so he can have them released here in the US and he can released classified intelligence information to the Muslims that he would be removed from office and tried for treason if he released it any other way. Neither Mr. Obama or MR. Holder are friends of the United States. Both have and will continue to lie to the American public and block investigation in the actions of the Muslims in the country who mean us harm and the election "irregularities" that keep Mr. Obama in power.

How will 12 jurors ever be selected for the KSM trial if it is held in New York? That would mean finding 12 people ready to give up their lives as they know them...taking years for the trial itself and then spending the rest of their lives in a witness protection program. Only those ready to acquit KSM would want to serve.

I thought the capitalism that made this country wealthy was the result of millions of creators and doers making umpteen zillion decisions and working endlessly to convince more millions to participate or buy.

Note that Mr. Obama did not say he supports free speech. He said he supports non-censorship. SOMETHING YOU SHOULD INVESTIGATE:

There appears to be a clue in the report provided on this link http://www.gwumc.edu/hspi/old/PTTF_ProceedingsReport_05.19.09.pdf

as to why the Obama White House is downplaying the investigation into the Ft Hood massacre involving Major Nidal Hasan. This link will take you to a pdf report issued by the George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute, titled "Thinking Anew---Security Priorities for the Next Administration", Proceedings Report of the HSPI Presidential Transition Task Force, April 2008 - January 2009.

On page 21 of this report is given a list called the Appendix C Task Force Event Participants. If you scroll down to page 29, you will find in the left hand column of participants the name "Nidal Hasan, Uniformed Services University School of Medicine". Major Hasan, the Ft. Hood shooter, was in attendance at this school of medici ne during this period, before being transferred to Ft. Hood. There are links given in Appendix B, p. 19 that could possibly provide more information on this participant.

Many questions come to mind about this:

Is this the same Nidal Hasan? If so, could this be the reason Pres Obama is trying to put the shush on the investigation so as not to reveal the connection between this man and the White House?

How did Hasan get appointed to the Obama transition team? Who recommended him?

Are there others on the participants' list that pose similar questions ala Hasan?

How did Hasan get into the US Army as an officer?

Given Hasan's poor record in the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine, why was he not washed out? Aviation cadets are washed out of flight training if they are not panning out; students are washed out of med school if they are not making the grade; even recruits are washed out of boot camp if they are not meeting the standards. How did Hasan get by?

Is there a dark, hidden process and motive behind Hasan's 'successful' tenure in the military?

Much of this has direct links to someone on Obama's team, maybe even to some of those now in the White House. It needs to be revealed, as well as the motive behind it all.

My personal opinion of Barack Hussein Obama is that he is too stupid to run this country and his latest stupid mistake is: Allowing the trial of an enemy terrorist of the United States of America to stand trial as if he were a citizen. I believe that this is grounds for a trial of Obama for treason for the stupid bastard that he is. It is not just the trial that worries me it is what the world will know afterwaards that worries me.

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is proud to announce that the DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano swore-in Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria as ADC National Executive Director as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC). http://www.adc.org/

Excuse me, but has anyone ever heard a new government official being identified as a "devout Catholic, Jew or Protestant."..?

Just wondering...

Doesn't this make you feel safer already??

Our representatives are not representing us, this is evident by their actions. They have tuned us out and declared war on us. We need to do our own declaration of war when Mr. Obama signs away our sovereignty, our Constitution and all of our freedoms in Copenhagen. That will be an act of treason. To raise up and protect or Constitution and freedoms is an act of self defense. Time to Lock, Load and rock and roll.....

Mr.Pless, if you know this, surely the Military does. If they don't, I hope they will contact you for the information.

As a common citizen, I would hope all of this is "scrutinized" during a Military trial and the facts will wake-up the American people who think "Freedom is Free" (as we all know "Freedom is not Free." Freedom requires constant vigilance) BUT remember, during the '08 election, I remember seeing young students with "red Communist" banners, deliriously giddy with this election.(What an indictment against "higher education" in the United States. Remember - 1963 - the Atheist O'Hare and the Collusion of the Supreme Court contrary to the 1892 Ruling of the Supreme Court declaring this to be "a Christian Nation." REVERSE this awful decision.)

Do we have the "backbone" in this Congress for "impeachment"????

"Treason of the blackest dye" was how George Washington put it about Benedict Arnold and Our Fathers proceeded to the prescription.

Our Fathers had the "Instruction and backing of the Pulpit" in their day. The Christian Church was the "center of power" to the people. The 501C-3 has silenced and intimidated those who have had the "congregations". The Preachers have the "trust" of the people, even if it is only 6 or 10 people, they have been given by God that "power" to have the "ear of the people". I am reminded of a wonderful book, "They Preached Liberty" It was the "mind set" of the Preachers in this Beloved Country during the Revolutionary days.

In the Scriptures, Abraham says in his intercessory prayer to God about the situation in Sodom and Gomorrah, "Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?" "That be far from Thee to do after that manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: that be far from Thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" The Intercession of this righteous man, Abraham, pleased God and the "righteous" were saved because of intercessory prayer. Jesus Christ, yesterday, today and forever. Look for God to answer the prayers of those who have prayed that our Beloved Country be spared.

For God & Country

Patriotic talk and words are inspirational but when is some one going to take some action to reverse what is happening to our once great nation?

When Major Hasan is tried by civilian jury, how many Muslims must be on the jury to avoid charges of "discrimination?"
