"Nothing is more essential to the establishment of manners in a State than that all persons employed in places of power and trust must be men of unexceptionable characters." --Samuel Adams
The Demo-gogues
Former Rep. Eric MassaPolitical bathhouse: "I was in the congressional gym, and I went into the showers which, by the way, I for the life of me can't figure out why they took all the shower curtains off the shower stalls in the congressional shower. The last thing I want to look at is my fellow colleagues naked, but they don't have shower curtains down in the gym, and I'm sitting there showering naked as a jaybird and here comes Rahm Emanuel not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest yelling at me because I wasn't going to vote for the president's budget. Do you know how awkward it is to have a political argument with a naked man?" --former Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY), who is accused of sexually harassing male staffers and resigned Monday
More accusations: "Rahm Emanuel is son of the devil's spawn. He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive." --Eric Massa
Changing the tune: "I wasn't forced out. I forced myself out." --Massa on Tuesday night
Non Compos Mentis: "[W]e have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy." --House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), confirming that too much Botox can kill brain cells
Tell a lie often enough: "Health insurance reform is about jobs. This legislation alone will create 4 million jobs." --Pelosi, repeating her lie from the summit
Changing the climate: "What we have to do is go on the offensive. [The science on climate change] has been maligned and misinterpreted, and we need to fight back... [P]eople [need to] stop being moved by these talk show [hosts] and start looking for the facts themselves." --Sen. John Kerry (D-MA)
It's all about jobs: "What we are talking about is a jobs bill. It is not a climate bill. It is a jobs bill, and it is a clean air bill. It is a national security, energy independence bill." --John Kerry on cap-n-tax
"[E]very decision, every debate, no matter how important it is, with the same question: 'What does this mean for the next election? What does it mean for your poll numbers? Is this good for the Democrats or good for the Republicans? Who won the news cycle?' That's just how Washington is. They can't help it. They're obsessed with the sport of politics." --Barack Obama, who isn't a bit different
"Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good." --Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (See the video.)
Editorial Exegesis
"The strange case of New York Democrat Eric Massa keeps getting stranger. Rep. Massa resigned last week under a cloud of ethics charges, but he now claims he was pushed out for opposing health care reform. Massa claims he's being investigated by the House Ethics Committee on trumped-up charges that he sexually harassed a male aide. If true, it shows the White House and Congress are indeed being run the 'Chicago Way' -- with bluster, threats and even physical intimidation. Wasn't this administration supposed to be different? Let's be clear: We don't know for sure the White House did anything illegal. But if any of Massa's claims is true, it speaks volumes about the thuggery of an administration desperately trying to pass its wildly unpopular health care bill. For his part, Massa says Obama aide Rahm Emanuel went ballistic when he dared to vote against ObamaCare last November. With health care hanging by a string, Emanuel and the House leadership bullied him into resigning last Wednesday, Massa now claims. 'Mine is now the deciding vote on the health care bill,' the one-term congressman told radio station WKPQ Sunday. 'And this administration and this House leadership have said, quote-unquote, they will stop at nothing to pass this health care bill. And now they've gotten rid of me, and it will pass. You connect the dots.' ... White House and House Democratic leaders have all issued denials. So, for now, the political row has a 'he said-she said' quality. But if what Massa says is even partly true, and it certainly seems plausible, this is gangsta politics, Chicago-style -- a case of political bullies making an example of someone to get others to fall into line. Al Capone would be proud." --Investor's Business Daily

"The more we come to rely on government, the fewer freedoms we will enjoy. Government will start dictating what we can own, eat and drive, how much of our money they will let us keep, how we run our businesses, how many -- if any -- guns we can own, and what we may and may not say. Oh, wait! They are already doing that. To preserve freedom we must fight for it." --columnist Cal Thomas
"True rights, such as those in our Constitution, or those considered to be natural or human rights, exist simultaneously among people. That means exercise of a right by one person does not diminish those held by another." --economist Walter E. Williams
"With their backs to the wall, Democratic leaders are preparing a complicated plan to pass their national health care bill. Standing in the way are Democrats who oppose the bill, whether on principle or out of fear that voting for a wildly unpopular measure will spell defeat for them in November. If you think House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is going to let them off easy, allowing them to kill the party's top policy priority in more than a generation -- well, that's not gonna happen. Democrats who are considering voting against the bill are about to experience arm-twisting, threats, and pressure like they've never experienced." --columnist Byron York
"In my entire career, I have never been as confounded as I am over President Obama and the Democratic leadership's obsession with a piece of legislation that not one major national poll has shown to be popular. ... So I have to ask, why are the president and the leaders of Congress willing to see their entire party and a multitude of other policy proposals go down in flames over something that the public can't stand? ... Folks, this is nothing more than a power grab. It's an effort to take one of the most essential elements of every person's life -- their health -- and put it under the control of government." --columnist Matt Towery
"The president cannot show us he is looking out for our interests and our future by forcing a quick, partisan vote on an issue that will impact not only this time but generations to come. This is especially true since he was so adamant in his opposition to using this very parliamentary measure in governance during his campaign. And he cannot show us that he is listening when polls show that only 35-40 percent of Americans support this bill." --radio talk-show host Michael Reagan
Dezinformatsia
Delusions from a parallel universe: "Campaign promises are about getting elected; once there, they are quickly forgotten. Courage is not a word you hear very often in discussions about politics. Not Barack Obama. Whether or not you support or even understand his health care plan -- and the polls suggest that right now most Americans don't -- you must admit this: Obama is a man who does everything humanly possible to keep his promises. He promised health care reform, and he is risking his presidency to deliver it. If that's not courage, what is?" --political commentator Susan Estrich (Try blind ideology.)
Oh no! "Now that we have finally arrived at the do-or-die moment for Obama's signature issue, we face the alarming prospect that his presidency could be toast if he doesn't make good on a year's worth of false starts. And it won't even be the opposition's fault. If too many Democrats in the House defect, health care will be dead." --New York Times columnist Frank Rich
Propaganda FAIL: "John Patrick Bedell, whom authorities identified as the gunman in the Pentagon shooting on Thursday, appears to have been a right-wing extremist with virulent antigovernment feelings." --Christian Science Monitor staff writer Peter Grier (Oops, Bedell was a registered Democrat and an anti-Bush 9/11 "truther.")
Rather racist: "One, part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama's leadership. And the Republicans will make a case and a lot of independents will buy this argument. 'Listen he just hasn't been, look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through and he had to compromise it to death.' And a version of, 'Listen he's a nice person, he's very articulate' -- this is what's been used against him -- 'but he couldn't sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.'" --HDNet's Dan Rather trying to put words in Republicans' mouths

In need of remedial history: "Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as 'yellow, slant-eyed dogs' that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what's going on today?" --actor Tom Hanks promoting his upcoming HBO miniseries "The Pacific"
Somehow not comforting: "Believe me, if we were charting this administration as a political exercise, the first thing we would have done would not have been a massive recovery act, stabilizing the banks and helping to keep the auto companies from collapsing. Those would not even be the first hundred things he would want to do." --White House adviser David Axelrod

Let's face it, when you kneel in a church, you're accepting that there is something greater and wiser than yourself in the universe. Beck tried his best to get Rep. Massa to reveal some criminal dirt on Obama's administration. When he couldn't, he tried to dismiss him as a waste of time. The story Massa told was revealing enough for those who could hear what he was saying. The laimstream media is trying its best to marginalize Massa's message as being irrevelent thru character assignation. Anyone would have to be an idiot to put up with trying to change Washington, and Massa is no idiot! For me, I'm praying for the spirit of truth to decend upon Washington. Unless God opens the eyes of those in Washington, it will too late for even conservatives to bring the need change.

While I will not stop reading the Patriot Post, I am appalled at the editorial cartoon included in the Post dated 3/10/10 in which Obama scolds Rahm regarding his language. I am an advocate for people with developmental disabilities, and given that the majority of people in our country don't regard the use of the word "retard" as anything offensive, people with intellectual disabilities do as they continue to break free of the stigma attached to it. Most readers will assume that the encrypted expletive that is implied to be said by Rahm is the term for which he is being reprimanded. I challenge that it should be both. I wish the artist had not used the word "retard" to express his point of view and am more disappointed that the Patriot Post would consider publishing said editorial cartoon.
Sincerely,

Whaaaaa? GO on the offensive? Haven't they been there all along? Shoving it - along with Obamacare, which is really re-warmed Hillarycare - down our throats with now debunked 'settled science'? I'd say they're liars, the lot of 'em, but they really do believe themselves. I can say that with certainty because I've had conversations with some of them. Well, as much as you can have a conversation with people who suddenly transform into Gollum-like creatures when you say, 'God is in Control'. Keep praying, America!

I keep thinking of the closed door meetings. and the over 2000 pages of things they want to pass. I am starting to think that in those pages is about all things involved..cap and trade, the things they want in the healthcare bill, all the fake climate warming crap and chips of national ID's to get jobs or medical, our guns taken, a complete Hitler only worse take over and a final decision to hand us lock , stock and barrel to the UN and EU. same sex marriage, abortion, self help suicide , religious freedom and every evil thing and also the ilegals now over 30 million and still coming in on visa and running over the borders. the promise of Islam to take us down from the inside out, to destroy our ecconomy . I wonder when America is really ALL going to get it. IRS is illegal, as is any DSHS office to be in federal gov. the right to bare arms for gov that try to dictate etc..It is now or never and not to forget these evil freaks are on both sides..and now are involved in the tea party. they will push till we have communism complete. I hope they all wake up. the polls? when I hear 45 % want this healthcare ..all I think is illegals go computer to computer voting many times over..and why do we wait to vote them out? votes are rigged like all else..how about throwing them out into prison..and vote in good men and women like G-d told us to and then hold them accountable

As I watched Beck waiting for something of substance I left with the I said they said. Not being a person who reacts on accucsations I look for facts. I did not see any. General statements about corruption in Washington has become an accepted thing. We have all heard about the backdoor stuff, which I beleive is happening, but further facts are needed about the other things. This has gone on forever by both parties. The question is can it be stopped?
I beleive a third party is needed to balance things out. The Dems and Repubs got rid of the American Party(?) I beleive in the 50's? A three way arguement is better than a two way one.

I disagree with you in that I believe Nancy Pelosi when she says the Democrat's health care plan will create 4 million jobs. The fact that it will be 4 million more Government jobs and cost 40 million private sector jobs is irrelevant.
And I believe John Kerry when he says that Cap-n-Tax is a jobs bill and not a climate bill. It will do nothing to affect climate change but it will cost another 40 million jobs.

Tom Hanks offers a great example of why playing a smart person in a movie does not make one smart in real life. In both of his references, "we" simply tried to kill our enemies because they first attacked us: first against the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, second against the Muslims who attacked us countless times, culminating in the destruction of the World Trade Center and 1/5 of the Pentagon on 9/11. The only significant "difference" we hold with either of those foes was that they want(ed) us dead, we didn't want to oblige.

"terry goodwin: I beleive a third party is needed to balance things out."
Terry, your three-way argument has never been better than the two. That's how we got stuck with Clinton for two terms. The Republican Party needs to be re-formed back into the party of conservatives, not blown up. One thing liberals figured out long ago was incrementalism. We cannot change the Republican Party over night, but must keep putting forth conservative values to show the failures of liberalism. As more and more people see the differences, we can take back the Republican Party.

I agree with Nancy Pelosi, the Health Care plan is a Jobs bill (not one that I support), with 110 new bureaucracies and new field personnel it will swell (bloat?) the ranks of govenment employees, and I wouldn't be surprised if it added up to 4 million.

I find it hard to understand why the media and people in general are dismissing this man's statements as if the statements of this administration have been truthful and somehow he is guilty and therefore justifibly removed from office. Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence? I am sure there is more to the story that Mr. Massa tells and it is getting more complex by the moment, but it is wrong to bully out of office a member of Congress - after all, we are a nation of laws, polite discourse, and decorum - to loosely quote the "illastrious" Speaker of the House. Mr. Massa deserves his day in court and not in the court of the media's opinion or the country's public opinion.
I am not trying to defend this man or condone what he has or has not done, I am defending his right to free speech and his right to legal recourse. We no longer destroy people without the benefit of a trial, do we?

This nation does not need or want the idiotic health reform bill that Mr Obama is trying to force on the American people. His ego is way out of wack. We the American people are also a Christian nation whether or not there are millions of people who do not want to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. That is their choice not mine!! The American people should not have to sit around and have this phony piece of legislation shoved down their throats. What is wrong with the politicians that are supposed to believe in a government by the people--and for the people!! Amen I pray that God will step in and fix this mess because we cannot do it by ourselves. May our country always be free as it has the right to be and should be!

That is, if you count 4 million more bureaucrats in government to try to manage the beast this legislation would create as jobs. In truth “the jobs” would be like the legislation take wealth from the economy; not create wealth as would a real job.

Regarding Nancy Pelosi's statement that "Health insurance reform is about jobs. This legislation alone will create 4 million jobs." In the unlikely event that she is correct, this should set off a huge string of alarms.
4 million new bureaucrats, that should really help. Let's guess they each get paid $35k/year, or $50k with benefits. That adds up to $200 Billion per year. With 300 million Americans that costs about $670 per head - or $2680 per family of 4, if we all paid taxes. Much higher than that for those of us who actually do pay taxes.
4 million new bureaucrats so 16 million "uninsured" can have insurance.

Senator Harry Reid says that ONLY 36,000 people lost their jobs today, and that was good news!!?? Only 36,000? What was the rate by which people lost their jobs before this big day? 50,000? With there being 33 weeks between now and the mid-term elections in November, if ONLY 36,000 people lost their jobs a WEEK, that would be another 1.2million added to the unemployment rolls. That means about 500 people in Washington DC would lose their jobs one day in November, and that would be BIG news for America!

I have to regretfully say that I am one of those people that use the word "retard" as one would use "moron". I would never refer that way to a person with an actual mental disability or developmental disorder and honestly it never even crossed my mind that it could be taken that way, that's how much a part of everyday language that term has become. It's like how kids say "this sucks". I was appalled the first time I heard my daughter say that because it sounded so bad to my ears, yet to our youth it's just an expression without a hidden or dirty meaning. I can't stand Rahm Emmanuel so this isn't a defense of him in any way - I'm just reflecting on my own use of this word and hoping that those who love and care about the mentally disabled and developmentally disabled realize that it's not meant as a slur against them at all, but is just a careless use of a word that has unfortunately come to be used on a regular basis by many. I will definitely not feel the same way about using this offensive term in the future thinking I could be hurting someone who is already suffering.

Bless your work on behalf of the disabled. As to the Patriot Post cartoon, if you research recent history, it was Rahm Emanuel who used those exact words (the bleep was the F word) in referring to those Democrats in Congress who did not support the President's agenda/health care plan. So, understanding your sensitivity to name calling, please understand where the quote originated.

I hope that the frustration level of The People doesn't reach the point at which some individual takes it upon himself to personally "change" the direction in which Obama is pushing us. Is there some currently faceless individual who has concluded that reason, debate and persuasion have come to nothing and that a direct approach is the only alternative to stopping Obama's headlong rush to metamorphose America into a satellite of the United Nations? Dan Rather putting words in Republican mouths linking the President and watermelons. Tsk, tsk, Dan. How terribly racist.

Columnist Mark Steyn said, Obama thought it would look good to have him surrounded by men in white coats. I'm thinking he NEEDS to be surrounded by men in white coats, and the One himself should be in a straight-jacket when not locked in his rubber-lined cell.

In need of remedial history:
If Hanks really said that, we need to find his source of bad information and annihilate those lying ..... Had Tom changed just two words (were different) to (tried to annihilate us) it would have been a good and relivant comparison. I know a lot of people that live through WWII and none of them felt any ill will against the Japanese because they were different, only because they attacked us.
"Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as 'yellow, slant-eyed dogs' that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they TRIED TO ANNIHILATE US. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what's going on today?"

Several things, here. Where in the world does Tom Hanks get his information, for Christ's sake? His comment is all too typical of those who consider themselves to be 'Artists". I beg the differ. They revel in misinformation, and outright LIES. They quite obviously do not comprehend the word shame. Nor do they take the time to read history, not the 'politically correct" kind, but the truth. The Japanese were out to annihilate western culture for one, and only one, reason: Power. Nothing less. We, and the rest of the free world, on the other hand, were out to annihilate that threat, nothing more. THAT is the truth.

To correct Tom Hanks' misconception of why we were killing Japanese in the Second World War, permit me to point out that it was their avowed intent to invade this country and dominate it that brought our wrath down on them. We saw that intention as adequate reason to resist their efforts with all means at our disposal. Stick to the movies Tom.

Actually, she is probably correct - they will all be morticians and grave diggers.

Please ask Marc Steyn, which of the men in the white coats had the strait jacket.

Sean Penn is a good actor, not a superb one but good. If he thinks that Hugo Chavez is such a superior leader of Venezuala and believes in a repressive socialist society, why doesn't he move his happy a$$ and his million of US dollars there. Try plying his acting graft there where he'll have to share his wealth with everyone in Venezuala (not to mention Uncle Hugo). He won't because he loves the money he's made here in the US won't be willing to share it with his "new found" contry men and women. What a POS.

From GranAnn-So the jobs bill and the climate change bill are going to be one and the same?? I've never been more disgusted with the politicians than I am now. I doubt there are more than a handful in Congress who even know what the Constitution stands for and why we need to preserve it. They have no idea as to what they took an oath to defend and preserve. Back to school!
Don't be silly. They, Chairmen BHO nor his henchmen, have any idea about the Oath of Office or the Constitution. That much is clear. Back to school? Are you kidding, they're the enlightened ones.

"Jon Carry, D-MA" said, "What we have to do is go on the offensive. [The science on climate change] has been maligned and misinterpreted, and we need to fight back... [P]eople [need to] stop being moved by these talk show [hosts] and start looking for the facts themselves."
My retort: Dear "Jon", Don't you mean "people need to stop being moved by these POLITICIANS and start looking for the facts themselves?
Believe me, "Jon", we're looking at the facts; we no longer need your "Halp" on that.

I truly believe when Obma became president he had a goal, and that was to destroy the United States. I think he is doing a good job at proving that is his quest. He has put us so far in debt I don't know if the next president will ever be able to get us out. I tried to warn people he had a quest, but they were like a flock of sheep following a goat. I do not believe he is an American citizen. However; when you have one of the richest people in the world backing you, you can do just about anything you want. I think is was one of the saddest days in history when he took office.

Tom Hanks said, "We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were diferent", in reference to the Japanese during WWII.
How can I put this politely, Tom Hanks is an IDIOT!

It's sad how these idiots running our country are ruining it day by day. We have seen "dirty" politics since this EGGPLANT got elected President with back door dealings, special treatment for interest groups (unions), appts of judges who are related to a DEM for their vote, & cash payouts to reps congressional distrcts for their support of this healthcare bill that will bankrupt our country.
Seems like and of these Progressive Dems can't due basic math. Oh now I see how Charlie rangel and Timmy G messed up their taxes along with many others who didn't get appointed to a cabinet position because of the same mess ups.
This administration is always so far off on it projections and lies about what is really going on.
This is the most corrupt administration we ever had and one that will take our great country into financial ruin and make us no better that some 3rd world countries!!

I think we ought to start impeaching judges that legislate from the bench.
I would like people to be required to read and know our constitution. Our political leaders rarely look to see if what they're doing is unconstitutional. State and Private rights which are supposed to be protected by the constitution are being rapidly eroded in favor of Federal supreme power!
We are leaving an expensive miss for our children to clean up.

It is time for Patriots to begin to take action that will be UNDERSTOOD by these brain-dead democrats. At the next "speech" given by a demagogue, and this definitely includes a presentation of lies, twisted, warped and corrupted talks on "osamacare", Patriots should come armed with buckets of tar, bags of feathers and a few rails. To protect one's self from false charges of endangering the public, do not use hot tar. But the message of "tarred and feathered" and "run out of town on a rail" should well make themselves known. As such items would not be allowed near "osama obama", posters of it, all tarred and feathered and seated upon a rail with cheering Patriots waving our flag will also get the message out, loud and clear.

John, WIS.
The comment made by Tom Hanks, is an ABSOLUTE slap in the face, to all of those who fought in the Pacific.
I'm sure there are those, who would love to sit him down, and have a "chat" with him about it.
I wonder what his thoughts are, when it comes to those who fought on the European front, would be......maybe something along the lines of..."just a bunch of right-wing extremists, out to destroy a great political and ideological leader and his military".
Reconsider your position, Mr. Hanks.
*************
May we please have a 'RECALL' vote of the President, in the 2010 election?
BEFORE he screws this country up anymore?
I, for one, say "YES".

CHOOCH.I have to take issue with your use of the word EGGPLANT when refering don obama.(our dear leader) You've insulted"all"eggplants light or dark skinned. To be compared to something as obnoxious, cowardly, caustic, and thin skinned as obwan-ka-bama,is truly heart wrenching. You owe EGGPLANTS around the world an apology.I hope in the future you show a little more respect for our friend(food)the lowly,EGGPLANT.For it deserves more respect than whats his name. You know! The marxist, punk, thug that is now cluttering up the oval office. Thanks for your support.

I guess Tom Hanks missed reading about the bataan death march in his research...sounds like a bunch of "yellow dogs" to me! Besides, "yellow dogs" is a mild term to call a country that made a cowardly attack on Pearl Harbor....Hanks.....quit smoking that stuff!!!

I am really sick and tired of hearing about "health care"...its not about "health" and it damn sure is not about care! Its all about "CONTROL"..they speak, you obey!! If not, no medical help in time of need...complicated? Nope seems simple enough for even the dumbest to understand. health care in this country is the best in the world...want to improve it? Get rid of the lawyers involved, the ambulance chasers filing class action suits, the ones after pharmaceutical companies that are forced to charge exorbitant fees for drugs because of the constant threat of lawsuits, or the exorbitant doctors and hospital fees, for the same reason, some slime ball lawyer is laying in wait to nail them for a lawsuit, doctors have to charge ridiculous rates to pay ridiculous insurance fees, same with hospitals.....a bit of greed mixed in with the excuse of the fees is also involved...but you see...........NONE of it has anything to do with health CARE! Wake up people!
