The Foundation

"The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. ... [I]t is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable -- and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come!" --Patrick Henry

With the stroke of a pen...

"A terrible thing happened to America on Sunday, March 21, 2010. The country took its biggest step ever down a road diametrically opposed to its original intent of keeping the state small so that the individual can be free and great." --columnist Dennis Prager

"If there is anything good to say about Democrat control of the White House, Senate and House of Representatives, it's that their extraordinarily brazen, heavy-handed acts have aroused a level of constitutional interest among the American people that has been dormant for far too long." --economist Walter E. Williams

"The fact that we conservatives were able to fend off this health-care monster for so long is amazing. But the reality is, until true constitutional conservatives recapture Congress, the growth of government and the incineration of liberty will only continue apace." --radio talk-show host Laura Ingraham

"Often the politicians who talk about health care the most believe in the Hippocratic Oath the least. Barack Obama falls into this category. He promises that his health care plan will protect the weak and vulnerable. This would be a little bit more credible if his policies weren't already killing and exploiting them." --columnist George Neumayr

"As America's teetering tower of unkeepable promises grows, so does the weight of government, in taxes and mandates that limit investments and discourage job creation. America's dynamism, and hence upward social mobility, will slow, as the economy becomes what the party of government wants it to be -- increasingly dependent on government-created demand." --columnist George Will

"On health care, [Obama's] most alluring promises will soon be discredited, as costs, premiums and the number of uninsured (in the near term) remain high. To paraphrase Colin Powell, if you reform it, you own it, and all the discontents with the health-care system will now adhere to Democrats. A more cautious and shrewd leader would avoid making easily falsifiable representations or putting himself on the hook in this way. Not Obama. On health care, he's immoderate in his substance, his risk-taking and his rhetoric. He's all in, and he doesn't care." --National Review editor Rich Lowry

Editorial Exegesis

"Idaho requires its attorney general to sue the feds if ObamaCare passes while Virginia, the cradle of liberty, heads the line of states in front of the federal courtroom. Somewhere Patrick Henry is smiling. As the second coming of King George III seeks to impose the leftist mandate of national health insurance on the unwilling American people, the states are once again in revolt. This time they're unwilling to be the colonies of an imperial federal government determined to spend and tax us into bankruptcy while treating the Constitution as if it were bird cage liner. Is this what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they risked being hanged by the British crown because they said we shouldn't be taxed without representation? Well, we have representation, and they care not about the people they represent. ... Not amused is Idaho, the latest state to jump into the fray last Wednesday, with Gov. C.L. 'Butch' Otter signing into law a measure requiring the state attorney general to sue the federal government if residents are forced to buy health insurance. 'The ivory tower folks will tell you, 'No, they're not going anywhere,' Otter told reporters. 'But I'll tell you what, you got 36 states; that's a critical mass. That's a constitutional mass.' Otter shares the belief that nowhere in the U.S. Constitution is a mandate to buy health insurance or anything else. ... He believes in the 10th Amendment, in states' rights as defined in the Constitution. All powers not specifically given to the federal government belong to the states and to the people. Mandating health insurance is not one of them. Some would say these states are stepping on Superman's cape, that federal law trumps state law. Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli says that's true only when the federal law has some basis in the Constitution and is not in itself unconstitutional." --Investor's Business Daily

"The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities." --author and philosopher Ayn Rand (1905-1982)

"No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear." --British statesman and political thinker Edmund Burke (1729-1797)

"The function of the true state is to impose the minimum restrictions and safeguard the maximum liberties of the people, and it never regards the person as a thing." --German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724-1804)

Dezinformatsia

Chains: "As of today, it is the law of the land that every man, woman and child in America will have health care coverage." --ABC's Dianne Sawyer, who would have more accurately said "nearly every American will be forced to have health insurance"

Let the gloating begin: "Yes, we did. Finally, President Obama can use those words. The passage of health-care reform provided the first piece of incontestable evidence that Washington has changed. Congress is, indeed, capable of carrying through fundamental social reform. No longer will the United States be the outlier among wealthy nations in leaving so many of its citizens without basic health coverage." --Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne Jr.

Legacy writing: "Historians will see this health care bill as a masterfully crafted piece of legislation." --Jonathan Chait of the New Republic

Historic bullying: "Democrats are using words like 'historic' to describe the sweeping overhaul that was approved, but Republicans are saying the bill does not reflect the will of most Americans." --NBC's Meredith Vieira (Not to mention the Constitution -- no really, don't mention it.)

Historic propaganda: "So this is incredible social transformation, but this will be put to the test in terms of whether [BO] can actually go out and campaign on this and win the argument. He may have won the vote but he hasn't yet won the argument and the president knows that. So he's gonna be spending yet more political capital trying to turn around public opinion." --NBC's David Gregory

Heaven forbid: "In many ways, President Barack Obama has run up against a Republican iron curtain in his attempts to get the country moving again. This has been painfully on display almost daily during the long health care debate when the Republicans have strived in unison to defeat Obama's reform proposals, despite the president's accommodating concessions." --White House press corpse reporter Helen Thomas (What concessions?)

What's in a name? "I just don't believe in these ridiculous names, what's communism and what's socialism. People probably can't even spell communism and socialism, much less identify it." --Cartoon News Network commentator Roland Martin

Not what the Founders fought for: "The bill I am signing will set in motion reforms that generations of Americans have fought for and marched for and hungered to see." --Barack Obama at the signing ceremony Tuesday

Nothing like tradition: "You will be joining those who established Medicare and Social Security and now, tonight, health care for all Americans. ... This is an American proposal that honors the tradition of our country." --House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)

Yes, we can ... crow about socialism: "[A]t a time when the pundits said it was no longer possible, we rose above the weight of our politics. ... We proved that this government -- a government of the people and by the people -- still works for the people." --Barack Obama

"We didn't give in to mistrust or to cynicism or to fear. Instead, we proved that we are still a people capable of doing big things." --Barack Obama (As are all thugs.)

The BIG Lie: "[T]his isn't radical reform. But it is major reform. This legislation will not fix everything that ails our health care system. But it moves us decisively in the right direction. This is what change looks like." --Barack Obama

It's not a right: "This is not about health care. It's about trying to extend a basic fundamental right to people who are less powerful." --House Democrat Whip James Clyburn (SC)

This week's "Alpha Jackass" Award: "Make no doubt about it. There will be no public funds for abortion." --Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), who made a grand show of being "pro-life" before voting for a bill that will almost certainly allow funding for abortions, despite Obama's promise of an executive order to the contrary

Next up: "In the wake of health care's passage, we have a strong case to make that [cap and trade] can be the next breakthrough legislative fight." --Sen. John Kerry (D-MA)

"Every so often, I read something written by other people that I wish I had written. For instance, Thomas Paine observed over two centuries ago: 'To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, is like administering medicine to the dead.' In 21 words, Paine perfectly summed up the frustration faced by a conservative every time he attempts to debate an issue with a liberal." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

"First: Congratulations to President Obama and the Democratic leadership. You won dirty against bipartisan opposition from both Congress and the majority of Americans. You've definitely polarized the country even more, and quite possibly bankrupted us, too. But hey, you won. Bubbly for everyone." --columnist Jonah Goldberg

"Pork is the preferred legislative meat for members of Congress, but this weekend they opted for bologna as they tried to convince the public -- and themselves -- that their so-called 'health care' or health insurance 'reform' monstrosity will be good for us. At least Castor oil was supposed to work even though it tasted awful." --columnist Cal Thomas

"The health-care vote reconfirms that conservative Democrats, much like the Loch Ness Monster, are widely discussed but rarely leave evidence of their existence." --columnist Jim Geraghty

"President Obama must hit the road this week trying to sell his health care reform law. He's working hard with his speechwriters. They're trying to get an applause line out of telling Americans the IRS is going to fine them for not buying health insurance." --comedian Argus Hamilton

Specific to this new Healthcare legislation, having lived/worked in France for 4 years, my wife and I both can't help but just sadly chuckle and turn away.... most Americans, having not been exactly well-schooled in the ways/means much less the geography of the rest of the world.... have no idea what might be coming their way! the visions of Orwell were true, later than predicted. Now we are on the brink of big brother and socialism such as the world has never seen. It will take a while but the two class system is starting to take hold. What will free Americans do, stand and fight or roll over with their under belly exposed and be devoured by a self serving government? this day has been in the making for years with the conditioning of our youth and parental neglect, energies spent on other things more important than the family. We are all the blame and all will share the price equally. We must take back the government from those who do not respect our country and what it stands for, else we are forever doomed as there is none who will champion the comon people toda.

The key phrase in the bill, "no direct federal funding of abortion through Medicaid" is accurate but, the misleading mindset is that Medicaid is under Title 14 of the Social Security Act(mid-60s). However, since the mid-70s, Title 10: Family Planning and Teen Services have been offering abortion as a "birth control method" and funding it.

Mary - I couldn't agree with you more! I don't know who to be more mad at - these Dems, for passing this the way they have; or the Reps, for allowing it to happen by showing everyone in their last majority and "Contract with America" just where we could all shove that contract!!!

Voting a Rep simply because they are "not a Dem", just doesn't seem a viable alternative to me. Both of these parties have proven to be nothing much more than drunk on power and their ability to steal from the People at ever opportunity. Our true representation and values are eroding fast. I truly am praying this Tea Party movement will bring us back to our true values and identify and clarify what we as "the People" want from our "representatives".

I for one would like to see them pass a 28th amendment (no passage of any law that doesn't affect Congress equally with the People), Term limits, and a firm commitment to honoring their pledge to the Constitution and Upholding first and foremost the LAWS OF THE LAND! I believe if we would uphold the Laws we have now - we would possibly solve half of our problems immediately. They should be doing that now, rather than wasting time dreaming up more and more legislation that does little more than continue to erode and destroy our constitution and values.

I'm supporting my local demonstraters with my voice and my presence at every opportunity leading up to the next 3 elections. In that period of time...I would like to see everyone of them voted out of office, and let's start with a fresh crew that adhere to these values. If they don't - we vote them out again until we get our power back and renew our Constitution!

President Obama has stepped into history as one who has, against all odds, beens able to push through Congress a significant piece of legislation that will affect all Americans. An evaluation of this legislation will depend on which side of the aisle you sit. However, even if he serves as only a one-term president, the future of what he has done will have no affect on him personally for he deems himself to be above the trivialities of politics. He sees himself as the man for this century. With his wealth and surrounded by his leftist colleagues, he will ride off into the sunset as the fair-haired hero of the leftist contingency. It will be for others to pick up the pieces generated by his nuclear welfare program. (And all from a man who hides his personal history like the pirates hid their treasures.)

Barack Obama has been great for America! I really mean that.

Prior to the “historic” election of Mr. Obama, how many people knew what “deem

and pass” or “reconciliation” was? How about our elected officials; how many

people in America knew who their representatives were or anything about the way

they voted? How many people called their offices to make their views heard?

Who could explain the requirements to be President prior to the campaign? How

many people knew the tenth amendment to the constitution (“The powers not

delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. “– for those that didn’t know it). How many people paid attention to the bribery, and arm twisting in Congress to get something passed? Who among us was aware of the pork put into bills to buy the vote of one or two members. President Obama has awakened the American public like no other President in recent history and this has been good for the country. Now, if we can only get our lected officials to do what they promise. Oh, to have a law that states that if a politician breaks more than 3 or even 5 campaign promises they could be recalled. Maybe they wouldn’t say one thing to get elected and then do whatever they want and just count on the ignorance of the American voter.

It's time for the states to do Constitutional Conventions, of the people, by the people, and for the people - not the mob in Washington.

Three items only: 1) Term limits for all elected officials, with no grandfather clause - 2 terms for the House; 1 term for the Senate. 2) No law with be passed that would exclude any class, group, company, or individual. 3) The United States government will operate on a balanced budget, with no exclusions.

John McCain was born on a U.S. military base and still had to prove he was a citizen. Why the big deal about his church and Rev. Wright??? He is not a christian...Check out the pictures of him praying with the Muslims. He lied about that too. He canceled the world day of prayer for christians and now they are having a WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR MUSLIMS AT THE WHITEHOUSE. Hello, America????Wake up! Do we wait until they attack us again. WE HAVE SEEN THE ENEMY AND HE IS IN THE WHITEHOUSE!!! WE SHOULD BE MARCHING IN THE STREETS AND DEMANDING HIS RESIGNATION!! How long do we wait before we take back our country from the Muslims??????

Obama's statement that this is a bill of the people and for the people makes the truth that this man is nuts very transparent. This "people's" bill invades our life with mandates everything from what we can eat in, how we raise our children, and to how we must let the Federal government access our personal bank accounts. These are a drop in the "people's" bucket as mandated by Rahm, Barack and their Marxist cohorts. What the people I know are saying is that this healthcare takeover is all about power over the citizenry and is called TREASON against the American people. We all need to get busy and fight against this madness that is coming daily from our precious White House. Our Founding Fathers had it right and our Consitution must be our guide through this charade of "leadership" in a free country. On this health care abortion...

In it's essence, the Constitution exists as simply a task list of powers given to the government by the consent of the People. Our Founders thought long and hard, considered history, debated steadfastly, and reasoned thoroughly to determine just what should be included. One might consider the notion that if it was such a good idea for government to be in charge of something so important as everyone's health, or if it was intended at the Founding for this to be so, then it would have already been codified into our Founding documents! And in that case, on the basis of it infringing on our free will, we might have been trying to reverse it over these past 200+ years instead of now having it rammed down our throats by the Obamacrats.

The Boston Tea Party was about big government's abuse of the People via taxes. This health care atrocity is also about big government's abuse of the People, but this time via taxes and usurpation of our very being. Is this abuse any less worthy of a fight?

Texas was a COUNTRY before.

People say that Tx couldn't do it as they'd have to pay back all Federal funds they'd received over the years-

BS! According to the constitution the Fed govt wasn't supposed to be doing that in the first place, so it could be argued that those funds were distributed illegally!

By the way, 36 states are against the "health care" crap--That's enough to pass an amendment to the constitution, isn't it?

I think the reason Obama is 'all in' on health but doesn't care is that he knows something he thinks we haven't thought of yet. I believe that some time this summer the Dems will try to create a major crisis and BHO will try to declare Martial Law and suspend the Constitution and elections.

It saddens me to know that we have made such a grievous error in judgment. It seems many, like sheep, are willing to be guided into slaughter with asking so much as one question about it. This is just the first step in “social change” and frankly I am disturbed.

I love loudmouth commentators like Roland Martin who make ridiculous statements about the American people not being able to spell words like communism and socialism, I know it is hard for him to believe that there is intelligence outside of his precious media. Plenty think for themselves and ask not for the spinsters opinion.

Ken,

Go to www.goooh.com (pronounced go). Short of actual civil war (which sometimes doesn't seem so bad) the only thing that we as Americans can do is to vote out of office EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE. No incumbent should be returned to office; primarily in Congress but also in the state legislatures. The American people need to be represented by individuals that can be trusted to work for us and not themselves. By sending the message to the states as well we can let any governmental agency know that they work for us. If you want true reform, THROW THE BUMS OUT!!!!!

1) Impeachment might be a bad idea, folks; we would have to deal with Biden, and he's a bigger moron than The Chosen One.

2) I disagree with secession - this is my country! I was born here, and there is nowhere I would rather live. Throw them out!!

3) I am more in favor of repealing the 16th amendment and installing an Enumerated Powers Act. Take the purse strings away from the federal government and turn the services over to the states - where they belong. Force the Federal government to show us where the Constitutional authority comes from for what they intend to do before we turn over so much as one thin dime to their use.

This last is going to require more than a majority in Congress - it is going to require establishing popular authority to police the hallowed halls. This shall require a Constitutional Amendment, since the Constitution currently allows Congress to police its own (having the buzzards guarding the chicken coop).

Sorry, folks. The representation of our Constitutionally-guaranteed republican form of government has failed us by becoming full-time politicians. Perhaps stripping away #16 will fix this, but I cannot say at this time. This is going to require Americans to be far more vigilant than we have been in over 150 years; what was that thing about "eternal vigilance"?

God bless America!!

President Clinton was impeached (but not convicted) for lying under oath. President Obama lied under oath with his hand on the bible (which means nothing to a Muslim) when he took the oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. Since then he has done everything possible to shred, not support and defend, the Constitution. Cannot he and the other members of congress who made similar lies while under oath be impeached as well? And if convicted, cannot they be hanged for committing treason against the United States during time of war?

More thoughts on this health care abortion...

I think we should all look at the big picture. The passage of the health care bill (income redistributor) should be considered as a culmination, or yet another benchmark, of a long-term American mistake - i.e., the creation of the welfare class and the overall expansion of government.

Somewhere along the way, there was a first time - a first bill that authorized the government to take income from one person in order to give it to another. And that set a precedent; that was the mistake; that was the immoral larceny that started the public sector.

Today, the government continues to feed the public sector with the income generated by the private sector. It has now grown to the point that the average government worker makes around $30,000 more than the average private sector worker. It has long been the largest employer in the country. It has also grown to the point that it hands out so many entitlements, that roughly 48% of people in America are drawing a monthly check from taxpayer-funded government coffers. At this size of government, the taxpayers' net taxation rate from all the numerous taxation means combined is approaching 50% and thus, we are analogous to a business with 50% overhead! Folks, this is a terrible formula.

The American taxpayer is being disenfranchised at the voting booth by public sector deadbeats who don't pay taxes. The private sector is thus being enslaved and driven into bankruptcy. And when the People, led by taxpayers, rejected this latest entitlement (Obamacare) by 2 to 1 (now closer to 3 to 1), the Obamacrats became insubordinate to the will of the People, thumbing their noses at us, and passing the bill anyway.

They should be fired. Now. And Obamacare, and other entitlements, should be stopped.

This "health reform" is yet another poisonous item to put on long and growing list of grievances put upon a free People and their various Free and Sovereign States all akin to the Declaration of Independence and it's list of grievances to Great Briton and King George.

That some of the various States at one time rose up together and were bloodily destroyed does not mean that such destruction was right nor measured in truth. The People and their various States must as Virginia has just done, rise up and ignore the Federal Dictat, saying that the Federal measure is simply null and void per their State.

1) Traitor: one who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.

2) Constitution's definition of treason: levying war against the United States, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort.

Make your own applications. I dare say we have put traitors in office. The case could probably be made for treason in some cases.

How can lawmakers be called lawmakers when they deliberately break the fundamental law of the land, the Constitution of these United States? The word is lawbreaker. One of them holds that oversize gavel. "Are you serious? Are you serious?" Dead serious Ma'am. Your question to answer a question reveals much about your attitude toward a country you should love. Or leave.

If their law breaks the law, is it not then an illegal law? How can we obey an illegal law? Not that the formerly esteemed Congressional bodies haven't likely already passed a good measure of illegal laws. Who can ferret out what all they have done?

We are safer - much safer - when they are not in session. Let's reduce the session to a month a year. Freedom would be an automatic result, after we rescind the Infamy Act of 2010.

Every Republican running for elective office, and even those who will not be required to run in November, 2010, should make a pledge that this election will be a starting point. A point of returning this nation to the form of government envisioned by the founding fathers. They shall pledge their efforts toward a smaller government stripped of all burdensome and unnecessary rules, laws, regulation and mandates that have and are stifling individual freedoms, burdening us with unnecessary and often illegal taxes and fees and inhibiting the growth of our nation. To attempt to make such drastic changes "over night" would be detrimental to our nation, these changes would evolve slowly, so as to lessen the burden upon the nation and its people, but in no instance, will such laws, regulations or mandates be permitted to remain more than 20 years.

Liberty, Freedom and Individual Rights shall be made into law. Attempts to initiate or pass laws or regulations that are contrary to this law should become criminal and those responsible for such violations brought before the courts for immediate prosecution.

ANYONE who has violated the sovereignty of our borders at any time shall never be allowed to become a citizen. This law shall be set aside only in extreme instances, and with the approval of 90% of the members of Congress and 80% of the members of the US Supreme Court. Attempts to make citizens of those individuals who have or may enter this nation illegally should also become a criminal offense. Providing shelter to/for or aiding these individuals avoid apprehension shall be a federal offense and if convicted, no pardon or parole allowed.

To prevent "politicizing" the US Supreme Court, it shall be permanently fixed at 9 members. This will thwart the political objectives of some who may seek the "pack the Court" for the purpose of obtaining a favorable decision.

In the future, due to the number of cases that require rulings by the US Supreme Court, it may be necessary to create sub-courts of the US Supreme Court, but above the current District Courts, to provide some relief. Such actions would require the input of legal experts on the makeup, etc. of such courts.

The use of Presidential pardons shall be restricted. No such pardon can be requested during the last 3 months of a presidents term of office. All such requests for pardons will be made public 45 days prior to the period when the pardon is to become effective. All legitimate reasons for objecting to such pardons must be accepted and made public before the pardon becomes effective. Certain crimes, to be determined by a committee comprised of members of Congress (both parties), the Dept of Justice and the US Supreme Court will not be subject to Presidential pardons, unless on an individual basis, approved by 90% of the members of Congress and 80% of the members of the US Supreme Court. Pardons granted may be delayed to permit additional investigation related to the presidential pardon.

Those Republicans seeking/holding public office should pledge an open and unencumbered investigation into the scare tactics of "global warming" and its proponents. Any current or previous US politician or scientist determined to have created or intentionally used falsified data to achieve political or monetary objectives shall face criminal charges. Any foreign politician or scientist in addition to criminal charges will be barred from entry into the US, except for criminal investigations, etc. and/or barred from access to any US based scientific information. The names of such individuals will be made public (broadcast and print media) for a period of 90 days along with the activity that resulted in their inclusion on said list.

Who are you to decide whether or not the "rich" get to keep their money? The reason that health care "reform" has evaded leaders for generations is that (1. it's a terrible idea and (2. it's unconstitutional. You know, that inconvenient document that enumerates the powers of the federal government. If you care to read the document, it left out the power for Congress to take over health care.

We can all sit on our butts and b**ch and moan about what happened and nothing will change. We need to spread the word and encourage ALL voters to sweep the garbage out of the White House and both sides of the Congress. When I owned my own auto repair business, all employees were made to sign an agreement that they were to be probational for at least a six month's term and could be dismissed or disciplined at any time, if they didn't perform to set practices, They were given a written copy of my shop rules and asked to sign for them, agreeing to follow them. I only had to fire one employee and that was for stealing from the company. I made each prospective employee show PROOF of legal American birth, Naturalization as a citizen, Certification as an ASE Certified Auto Technician and proof that they were enrolled in a recognized continuing training program. I almost forgot a Graduation Diploma from a full high school, not a Vocational or GED Diploma. I would check up on his or her documentation BEFORE hiring them. This is something that needs to be a law for anyone filing for State or Federal office. If any politician fails to perform his duties to the letter of the law and/or the Oath of Office. He should be booted out on his/her butt! He should be replaced by the next person in line that can and will follow the rules.

Thank you for this chance to make some analogies:

No matter if the nail is bent, just keep pounding away and we'll get that stimulus package, health care package through?!! What is next?

Now for the health care package example. We have a car that gets us to work and we pay for insurance. That is nice as a protection. We could do away with the car and hire one or some other way like public transportation. But because we are born in this country and are still alive and breathing, we have to buy health insurance imposed on us by the government? Isn't that really called SLAVERY?!!

Others can call it other names like communism or socialism but I think it is called SLAVERY. No better word and once the majority of the people understand and believe this, there definitely will be CHANGE.

The battle cocnerning illegal immigration is being lost right now. The census which requests information, that is useless, does not require any statement that the individual in the house is even a citizen. This opens the door for realignment of districts to be on the basis of the number of people in the area instead of the number of citizens. Lawmakers need to remember that they are in positions of authority and responsibility to care for the elected citizens of the country.

If you are lucky enough to have one of these Blue Dogs in your district, please remember to send a note of thanks for their fortitude in resisting what was must have been an unbelievable amount of pressure (and threats) from their own party, coming all the way down from the White House.

Of course, don’t get too gushy and promise to vote for them in November. After all, a REAL conservative might just make it through your local GOP primary process.

On December 7, 1941, I remember coming home from church and as we usually did, while my mother prepared dinner, we turned on the radio to listen to our regular programs. But everything was just news—news that Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor! Now at seven years old, I did not totally grasp just what it all meant. But as the days passed, and it seemed that all the news was bad from Europe as well as the Pacific, I had the feeling that the “lights were going out” all over the world. Even as a seven year old, it just felt like darkness was encompassing us.

Now that I am 69 years older, I feel that same old feeling, not because of the enemy from without, but from the enemy within. Last night—again on a Sunday—our freedoms were attacked. The difference is that the attack was made by those who have sworn to uphold the Constitution—not by some foreign power.

This most recent attack—the passage of Health Care—had its origins over a century ago when those who called themselves “progressives” begin to write and influence the direction this country was to take. It wasn’t confined to one Party, but was espoused by Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. The idea that was planted was that the Constitution was not to be thought of as a restraint on government. The restrictions on the federal government, especially the Tenth Amendment of the Bill of Rights, would be circumvented through gradual erosion. In other words, the whole meaning of what the framers of the Constitution intended would evolve. The Constitution was to be a “living” document that took on new meaning as times changed.

The attack on Pearl Harbor over 69 years ago brought a massive response as the nation rallied to the defense of our country. Today, the nation is not united in fighting this new threat. In fact, many do not understand that it is a threat. However, if those who see the danger will stand up and speak out, a difference will be made. We need to do our utmost to have real conservatives run in the primaries. By conservatives, I mean those who primarily hold to a view of strict Constitutional adherence. They should hold to limited government, a reduction in the size of government, a strong national defense, lower taxes, strict enforcement of legal immigration, and adherence to the Tenth Amendment, etc.

Today we need statesmen, not politicians. We need people in office that are more concerned about their country than they are about doing things that will insure they are elected again.

Hello Folks--

Yes! Let's just go ahead and address this note to everybody everywhere.

I have begun advocating the next logical step in our efforts to protest ObamaCare and all the other abuses coming out of Washington D.C.

The situation: Literaly hundreds of groups have been successfully formed in this last year to show the Obama Administration and the 111th Congress just how much the citizens of the United States absolutely abhor nearly every action taken by this administration.

I don't have enough paper here to describe all the different methods that have been used to let D.C. know we are not liking the direction Obama is taking this country. Phone calls to Congress, e-mails, snail mail protests, pink slips, petitions, protests of all kinds have been launched in magnanimous numbers. Physical gatherings at the White House and all across the country has proven that we are VERY serious about all this.

THEY HAVE SUCCESSFULLY IGNORED US!! They will continue to ignore us until we find a way to FORCE them to listen.

And if you think the answer is to just wait until November and vote them out, I'd like you to consider this. Why do you think they are ignoring us--and with SUCH CONFIDENCE? They are not afraid of being voted out. Do you think A.C.O.R.N. just "went away quietly" and faded into the woodwork without a whimper? Hell NO!! All they've done is re-organize with a clean slate, smarter and more experienced this next go round--ready to "mangle" the Nov 2010 elections.

If the current administration and Congress has the gall to ram through the ObamaCare Bill the way they did with no fear of repercussions from the citizens, they surely have no qualms about stealing elections--and they are good at that.

No..... we cannot wait for the 2010 elections. By then, this country will be unrecoverably socialist. We HAVE to take action now while we still have the means to do so.

I am not advocating any kind of violence. We can, however, MAKE this administration honor our wishes without violence. The organizers of all these hundreds of groups need to get together and plan a "sit out" or a "shut down" or whatever it needs to be called. After a few days of warning, just have everybody fail to show up for work. A few days of shutting down all except the essential work force will bring this blatantly disrespectful Congress and Administration to its knees at the bargaining table.

We want all the corrupt officials investigated and out of D.C.

We want our Constitution respected and all unconstitutional laws (state and national) repealed in an orderly fashion.

We want control of our education system returned to the State level where our kids and grandkids can learn the importance keeping a tight rein on our government in the future. WITHOUT THIS, THERE IS NO FUTURE FOR OUR POSTERITY.

We want the IRS eliminated and its functions replaced by a system of sales taxes.

We want the borders sealed.

We want the Islamic extremists recognized as what they are and ALL their operations shut down.

We want the Pentagon to manage the current conflicts/wars/etc. overseas until we can elect an honest administration and Congress.

Finally, we want Obama's resignation and with an investigation to determine the extent of charges that will be filed against him.

You can easily see that it is futile to try to list ALL of the things that are wrong and need to be corrected.

Folks, if we keep doing the same thing we have been doing, we can expect the same irrational responses from our government.

Can "We the People" individually afford to lay off from work to force our government to be responsible? Yes, it may be tough to do but if we act NOW, we can. Consider the alternative. If we do this now and help each other (individually and on the community level) we still have the resources to prevail until we can get the results we need. If we fail to do this now, this administration is leading us into a situation where unbearable hardships will be PERMANENT with no way to recover our fiscal status.

Think it all over and decide. I am tired of writing protest letters and e-mailing my Senators. They don't listen!!

Thanks for your time and trouble.

We need 600 people to stand up and say they are not affraid to be a one term Senator, Congressman, President...

Then fund the crap out of those people for thier campaigns.

Then we might get:

Term Limits

Congressman / Senators / Pres. off the Govt. Dole (paid for life)

Off "special" insurance (most of em make enough/worth enough to pay for 30 or more lifetimes of "caddilac plans")

Then maybe we can elect someone who actually thinks about 1 - whats good for the nation (according to his/her constituency) 2 - whats good for his/her constituancy personally 3 - get back to the position being something you strive to do for your country, vs a bloody job you must hold on to. The whole point of getting elected was for the people to work for the people. Not a poli to work for him/her self under the disguise of working for the people.

So who are these people, and how do we fund them? :) Career poli's need not apply.

With Obamacare I have a life expectancy of less than 2 months I'm on dialysis and it costs over $2000.00 per month for just that. My last hospital stay was just over $25000.00 for just one week in the hospital. You need to look at the limits on Obama care $5000 per individual $10000.000 per family. When they make a plan the government employee’s sign their name too, I want a plan that they and their families have also. And not any person who has never paid taxes can use as they see fit. I spent many years with the USA taking a third of my pay and now disabled I have to live on that third and have to try to make ends meet. I have lost my home my pride and most of my family along with my leg and kidneys, I miss my job but working is impossible with dialysis 3 days per week .

When there is no respect for life then there is no respect for God. The belief in God was the inspiration of our founding fathers to create the Constitution with respect for life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. These freedoms have just been taken away from the American people by the passage of the miss-named Health Care Bill embedded with a provision of government funding for the killing of the life of the unborn. It would appear that our Congress and President are no longer inspired by God.

SILENCE IS DEAFENING, especially to someone or a group trying to control the direction of an argument. I have come to the conclusion that conservatives will vote their conscious in Nov 2010 and 2012. We do not have to talk about it every day or argue with a liberal or progressive. My motto for the period between now and November is simply ......"Talk to the Hand".....I will not waste another minute giving a liberal the enjoyment of argument. It is a total waste of time arguing with a Liberal. I will remember those who voted for the Health Care bill and I will vote against them in Nov 2010 and Nov 2012. I don't believe the progressive movement can stand the silence. Also, if we are silent they cannot blame things they might say or stage on the Tea Party people or conservatives. In October our strategy can then be revealed. Until then, let our republican representatives talk for us, they have earned that respect. Remember talk among ourselves and tell the liberals....be courteous............"Talk to the Hand!"

First off, these people have forgotten their history: the same thing happened back east about 250-odd years ago, with a bunch of guys dressing up like members of the local tribes and tossing a bunch of valuable merchandise off a ship and into the harbor waters - and for the same reasons.

Secondly, these are the same people who were claiming that they were cool with anything that happened to them as a result of this vote. I guess they all thought that the American people would limit their protests to pathetic grumbling and rock-kicking...

Third, these people have Al Gore - he who knoweth the future before it happeneth - and they didn't see this coming?

This is what happens to anything - or anyone - who loses any respect they had from those around them. Welcome to the real world, folks!

While the President may, indeed, be impeached (which I still do not recommend, for reasons stated above), the Constitution does not allow for outside policing of Congress.

Article I, Section 5, part 2 clearly and unequivocally states that Congress can censure and/or remove its members; Article I, Section 6, Part 1 also exempts them from arrest while in performance of their duties (This provides a strong case for part-time officials vs full-time).

I agree that this is not a good arrangement, but it is all we have at this time. If, as I have stated before, this was composed with the understanding that such officials would only ever be part-time, then we can see how the full-time status of these officials has allowed for the corruption and arrogance we have been treated to for these many years.

The only solution to this appears to be restoring them to a part-time status - requiring them to maintain a separate livelihood and responsible citizenship as Americans.

Toward this end, I recommend the repealing of the 16th amendment - choking off the free access to our money and restoring them to the station of supplicant servants.

God bless America!

Note some of the "minor" headlines today:

"HEALTH CARE: Senate will have to return bill to House" [linked from the Juno home page]. Rest assured, the 'drive-by' media won't report on this issue.

We need to keep contacting the Congressional offices - to an extent that the whole switchboard system shuts down, like happened a couple of years ago when McCain, et.al,. tried to ram illegal immigrates down our throats.

Whre are the conservative talk show hosts, who need to be talking about this?

I can relate to most comments above, but one glaring thing doesn't ever seem to be addressed. Our nation has been prosperous over the years primarily because we are a Christian nation believing and trusting in God. Our motto "IN God WE Trust." Just what might we expect when we turn our collective backs on God? God has been known throughout history for chastising His children. And one of the ways He just might do that is through seeing that we get the leadership we deserve. To illustrate the point, Daniel 4:17 ...the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.(KJV) and again Daniel 5:21 ...the most high God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.(KJV) This mess we are in can very well be because we are forgetting the principles by which this nation was founded and are turning steadily away from God and our Christian heritage. We did all right as long as we did not turn our backs on our Provider. When will we ever learn?

One Mike Mortenson, on March 24, stated that we pander to uneducated fools, DOH, who does he think voted for BHO. Our president was put in office by all the uneducated in this country. Anybody with any brains would never vote for such a aweet talker, and that is all he is, right up there with Hitler, Jim Jones, and all the others that could sweet talk his way upon them. All he does when he opens his mouth is repeat the same thing over & over in his speeches. I can't listen to him because I get bored when someone keeps repeating themselves. If you hear his first part of a speech, you might just as well find something else to do, because he will just ramble the same thing on and on. I guess that's because he is talking to the un educated, he must repeat it again so it can possible get them to grasp something out of it. That's how you get a child to understand, isn't it. 2010, vote everyone out that you can who voted for THE BILL, and anyone who you think will vote for illegal alien amnesty, because they are the ones who will give BHO his voters in 2012. It along with Cap&Trade must be stopped next. Amnesty will put more on the screwed up health care, S/S and all other programs, and Cap&Trade will in time stop people from selling their property if it don't meet government standards(like emission testing for vehicles). The seller will be responsible to bring the home up to standards, but can't pass the cost on in the selling price.

I wonder. When the negative financial effects of this health care legislation start to hit, what will the excuses be? You know they will be coming. You know "blame" will be cast upon the opposition & of course, the people. You know economic uncertainty caused the problems. Those who passed health care legislation (notice I call it legislation & not reform, because it is not reform its the crushing of free enterprise free market health insurance that is the intention of this), will either be out of office or they will find all sorts of inventive ways to lay blame on anyone & everyone, but themselves.

In the meantime, with this & other socialist type legislation, America will go broke, just as Greece is going broke. Isn't it ironic that as Americans are lead into socialism, Hugo Chavez's efforts in Venezuela are backfiring? He's run out of everyone else's money, plus he's drained their treasury & can no longer issued promissory notes for his country. Now, he's killing off those who stand up & say stop.

The time will come when those demanding Americans pay for others will realize even they cannot eat at an empty trough.

Friends - You might want to take a look at the big picture as our very Sovereignty as a Nation is being attacked from within. To be aware and then take up arms to protect her is honorable, but to be aware and not act is deplorable. We must find a person who can and will take the reigns of leadership to define the threat and wage opposition to all who attack our Constitution and the Freedoms it affords. Be concerned because I fear the following has begun:

"We can't expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small dose of Socialism until they wake up one day to find that they have Communism."

Nikita Kruschev

I am nobody and I’m not quit sure what to do as no one has steped up to start and lead a rescue mission for our Nation. I know what to do and how to do it and all whom I’ve taked to agree, however, we need someone who is someone to rally the troops and mount a concerted effort now if we’re going to be successful in November.

I would love for you guys to produce a cartoon showing Obama standing in front of the communist, hammer and sickle flag with the words "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" above the flag!

My thanks to Fred Howard for bringing up the Kruschev speech. I came here to do that, but he beat me to the punch. Because I think it hits the nail on the head, we need to do something or that nail will be in our coffin. SAVE the CONSTITUTION NOW.

So the question to you all, who now have and keep making Obama the scapegoat and responsable for just about any and other American evils, where in the hell have you been when you had the chance of a lifetime to get behind Ron Paul, the man that spoke truth within the true spirit of the Founding Fathers? Yes, you treated him like is was a man with the most infectuos leprosy and rather went for a guy that would and could not even keep the most honorable words a man could ever utter and here they are: "Until death do us part". Yes, I voted for Ron Paul as a legal immigrant of 54 years, who clearly heard in him as if I was listening to the Founding Fathers! Yes, now every so-called Conservative blabbers and blabbers, mostly nonesense and making America the circus of the world. Yes, I hereby declare that born Americans have giving away America, as even another nation of illegals has settled in and you all even respect their language and treat it as equal to English. Yes, America's historic falling in love with Socialism/Communism plus its ever more inhumane and horrendous militaristic imperialism is to America what in true life termites are in a wooden structure, with the inhabitants therein not aware of such slow and subtle destruction. I rest my case for now as I fully blame the Republican party for sitting by for many decades while America self-destroyed, like all previous Empires.

Primary elections are coming soon, and general election is not far away. The deadline for primary voter registration is only 11 days away. Make sure that you and your family members and friends are regiatered, and that they can get to the polling places. In the meantime, mount opposition, strong and loud, against illegal alien amnesty, by means of which liberals hope to buy millions of votes to stay in power in 2010 and 2012. Work, and pray.

We need to fire ALL the people in Congress, trim down our government significantly, and get back to the great old basics that made this country great:) Iraq and Afghanistan DO NOT really respect or truly appreciate all we have sacrificed for them and we will get nothing out of all this as they turn around and sell oil to the highest bidder and corruption runs out of control. Time to start concentrating on AMERICA and our great people- we have given far too much for so little in return. God keep all our wonderful soldiers safe and healthy:) We love you.

It is hard to believe that we have allowed this to happen to our beloved country. We may be too late waking up. We all need to get on our knees and pray to GOD that it is not too late. We need to fight this thing and pray that someone with wisdom will rise up to defeat these evil people. Otherwise we are doomed to be like a third world country.
