A New Outlook for a New Year

The Liberty Bell

Now that 2011 is behind us and 2012 dawns, we have much for which to be thankful, but also much work to do. Liberty is under assault from many directions and our mission at The Patriot Post is to stand with you on the frontlines against that assault.

The New Year will bring one of the most important elections in our lifetimes -- one that will decide the course of our great nation. Either we will continue down the road to tyranny, or we could break the Fatal Cycle of Democracy.

Truth be told, it will take several election cycles of electing constitutional conservatives to high office in order to undo the damage and the "fundamental transformation of America" wrought by Barack Obama and his cadre of socialists. Daunting though it may be, the fight for Essential Liberty is our duty. We hope you will not only join us this year but encourage family, friends and coworkers to do the same. Together, we can pass on the Liberty we have enjoyed to the next generation of Patriots.

As for our 2011 Year-End Campaign, we're still sorting through the receipts and the mail, but we should be close to reaching our goal. Our sincerest thanks to all those who answered the call and supported us in 2011.

The Gipper

"I've always thought New Year's Day was an especially American tradition, full of the optimism and hope we're famous for in our daily lives -- an energy and confidence we call the American spirit. Perhaps because we know we control our own destiny, we believe deep down inside that working together we can make each new year better than the old. ... Let us renew our faith that as free men and women we still have the power to better our lives, and let us resolve to face the challenges of the new year holding that conviction firmly in our hearts. That, after all, is our greatest strength and our greatest gift as Americans." --Ronald Reagan

And so on New Year's Eve, while vacationing in

Hawaii, president Barack Hussein Obama signed

the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

It provides of course for all sorts of domestic and

global military funding, but there are two sections

related to giving powers to the president, which are

unprecedented and unconstitutional.

In signing the Act, to paraphrase, the president remarked that assigning the military to arrest and

detain (even American citizens) of any suspicion of

domestic terrorism, without due process, would be at his personal interpretation and discretion.

With the Patriot Act, George Bush eliminated our

4th Amendment Rights, but the NDAA takes it to the

limit by removing our 5th and 6th Amendment Rights.

The president now holds all the executive powers

needed to undermine our basic liberties, arrest and

detain indefinitely American citizens and of course

impose martial law, once the situation is warranted.

Good luck, America. Good luck.

I would like to take issue with this statement; "Truth be told, it will take several election cycles of electing constitutional conservatives to high office in order to undo the damage and the "fundamental transformation of America" wrought by Barack Obama and his cadre of socialists."

In my short life I have found this to be the most repeated theme of conservatives. Applied equally to everything that our side tries to accomplish be it the repeal of UN-Constitutional laws and policies or the passage of protective laws that are crushed in just one evil administration after their enactment. This is not politics, it is war, and we're losing. As long as we're willing to allow the enemy to constantly water down and compromise away the essence of our proposals to bring a Constitutional balance back to the nation.

No, I must protest that we must rid ourselves of this cancer as soon as we can. It does not benefit us to always be losing ground because we cannot afford it. How much longer do we have to give up ground before we admit defeat? You can't win by giving up ground, so where would you say we are today at regaining our liberties?

We have to admit another lesson this administration has taught us, is that so called Republican controlled houses of Congress cannot be counted on to perform their Constitutional duties no matter what the will of the people is. I don't think we can elect any Constitutional Conservatives in the future given the state of our education system and the Main Stream Media, so once again I ask, where do we stand?

The link to comment on outlook for 2012 was blocked by my security system. Apparently my computer thinks this is a "Malicious Website." I could only get in by typing your address in?

Anyway, I have a great outlook for 2012. No matter what goes on in the world, I will always have the freedom to choose to be happy and to stand up for truth and righteousness. I just read Three Against Hitler, by Jerry Borrowman. A fascinating look at Hitler's take over and reign of terror. I see great similarities. Are we as desperate as the Germans were? I don't think we are quite there yet.

I've heard startling predictions for 12/12/12. I don't know that we really can predict anything other than that things will get worse before they get better. How much worse and how soon things in the world turn worse is anybody's guess. The thing that keeps me going is the little light of mine that shines because my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is coming and he will wipe away tears from all faces. He will help me through whatever is coming just as he has helped me get through what has been already. He is always there to guide us and soon he'll be here to govern us. I can hardly wait. Hang on to your hats!

IdahoMom:

12/12/12 will be a great date to schedule a wedding, but don't expect either the end of the world or the second coming. I am fairly certain that neither will happen then. The economy will not improve until each of us takes personal responsibility to make our lives better. Our freedoms will be bartered and stolen until each of us stands up to tyrants. God helps those who help themselves; with faith, all things are possible.

I am very glad 2011 is over and I look forward to good things for 2012. We must stay strong and fight the good fight. Thanks Idaho Mom for your very poignant words. Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

What will 2012 hold? I believe Trump will run as a 3rd party and the election will therefore go to BHO. I believe this will be the final nail in the coffin for America. Some Patriotic Americans may respond with force. But what many fail to see is that BHO will see nothing wrong with requesting outside military help if some in America's military refuse to fight against Americans. But chances are there will be no significant American armed resistance. We will just sink into deepening Socialism because few have the nerve to assemble into a viable 2nd Amendment force. Quite frankly, many patriotic Americans talk about the 2nd Amendement, and its purpose, but the same will and spirit of 1776 is no longer present in sufficient numbers.

Let's face it, the liberal media is where most of the voters get their info from. Go to a WalMart and you'll see the quality of who is voting. The older conservative folks are dying off quickly. The Liberals have been patient, and the young ones who have been brainwashed through public schools and media are now voting.

God gave the blessing of this Constitutional Republic, and its freedoms to a responsible people who feared Him. But I do not see this same godly focus and character present in enough Americans today. The music, movies, and hedonistic mindset now dominates this population. I believe God is removing America's lampstand because she has turned her affections away from Him. The godly ones who are left are about to enter into the trials of fire as this nation melts down. I grieve through all of this.

Amen on 2011 being over. 2012 WILL determine the future of our country. Why is no one covering NDAA? This is one of, if not the scariest law ever passed and must be repealed. As Thomas Jefferson said "When the government fears the people there is liberty...When the people fear the government there is Tyranny". I'm scared. Do I now need to think twice about what I post here for fear NSA is monitoring my every word and the men in black suits will take me away? How easy would it be for an evil president to abuse this newfound power? Stalin would be so proud of us.

I agree with you in a way.Quite possibly many of these egnahcs should have been ammendments. They won't be ammendments now, because as they are already expected and imagined to be part of the constitution there is no need to ammend things. We supposedly ammend the constitution when something we think we need is ruled unconstitutional. What is the solution for something we think we need (and hence should really ammend for) is, possibly erroneously, ruled constitutional. That has been probably going on for a while. It is a simpler and quicker process, but can make bad precident (leaving aside all the things of this nature that I disagree with.)I can't imagine any one bothering to put together and pass an ammendment for something that already de-facto exists. Perhaps a better plan would be to ammend, with clearer meaning, the troubling parts of the constitution. An ammendment to the commerce clause that clarifies what the federal level should be (and perhaps removes some percieved existing powers) has actual utility. That is of course a legislative initiative, not a judicial one.
