The Right Opinion
One God or Many
Sometimes you can focus so hard on a single tree, you lose sight of the forest. For instance, every sane person, which automatically excludes leftists, realizes that we can easily un-elect Barack Obama next year. But we should not lose sight of the fact that we will simultaneously be sending Hillary Clinton, Cass Sunstein, Timothy Geithner, Janet Napolitano, Eric Holder, Jeffrey Immelt, Jay Carney, Valerie Jarrett and Joe Biden, back where they came from. That should certainly provide all Republicans, no matter which candidate they happen to support at the moment, with plenty of incentive to vote for our ultimate nominee early and often.
In spite of all the negative attention that the likes of Michael Bloomberg, Bill Maher and the coven of secular socialists who scribble for the NY Times, expend on religious believers such as Glenn Beck, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann, you'd think they'd occasionally pause to question the abiding faith that the Left has in Big Government. The weird part of liberal fanaticism is that, by and large, ministers, priests and rabbis, cause very little mischief, whereas government in the form of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Barbara Boxer, Charles Schumer, Patty Murray and the Black Congressional Caucus, were directly responsible for the financial meltdown, the massive number of home foreclosures, a soaring deficit and a Great Depression-like rate of unemployment.
The most devout Catholic, the most fervent Evangelical, the most orthodox Jew, can all make a stronger and, yes, even logical argument for his religious faith than a left-winger can. That is why every time leftists are asked why they worship the federal government and why it is that their gods demand that they favor higher taxes, the Palestinians, more federal regulations, affirmative action, public unions, illegal aliens, expanded welfare, same-sex marriages, a ban on oil drilling and a confiscation of guns; and why it is that they regard Tea Party members as a greater threat to life and liberty than Islamic jihadists; their replies are generally limited to accusing the opposition of being Nazis, fascists, racists, homophobes, yokels and/or hostage-taking terrorists.
In short, their defense consists of vehemently attacking those who don't subscribe to their particular brand of fanaticism. It sort of reminds one of Cotton Mather and Tomas de Torquemada in their heyday.
Speaking of historical figures, Galileo was convicted of heresy for insisting that the earth revolved around the sun and not the other way around. For their part, liberals condemn conservatives of heresy for opposing Obama's trillion dollar stimulus, Cash-4-Clunkers, Card Check, the Dream Act, increased taxes, Cap & Trade, and his incessant kowtowing to Iranian mullahs and union thugs. The main difference is that Galileo was merely confined to house arrest some 450 years ago; he did not have his humanity questioned on a daily basis by Henry Waxman and the lap dogs in the MSM.
The most fascinating aspect of the Left's intolerance of Christianity and Judaism is the fact that the same crowd goes berserk when the religious practices of Satanists, jihadists and those freaks and oddballs whose gods require the sacrifice of small animals or the ingesting of illegal drugs, are not respected by one and all.
The same folks who take it personally if someone suggests that God judges each of us by a set of Commandments, have no problem when a bunch of ex-lawyers, who owe their judicial appointments to hack politicians, have the ultimate authority when it comes to everything from abortions to the legality of ObamaCare.
This state of affairs is especially peculiar in light of the fact that judges, including those serving on the various Courts of Appeal are generally, divided, 2-1. And why would anybody have confidence in a Supreme Court, where decisions, as often as not, come down to 5-4 votes? For all the reverence and solemnity that surrounds the nine justices in their marble temple, they are simply a collection of mortals who were selected by political factions that, at the time, held sway in the White House and Congress. No one in his right mind would trust that bunch to pick out his neckties.
For me, the funny aspect of all this is that it's those on the Left who regard themselves and their favorite politicians as the intellectual elite. Which is what makes George Orwell's observation that "There are some ideas that are so preposterous that only an intellectual could believe them" so perceptive.
The next time a leftist, whose own religious faith rests with the likes of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor, accuses a Christian believer of being an ignoramus, an appropriate response would be, "Well at least nobody has ever suggested that God Almighty got His job through being politically well-connected."

Burt - you left out two fanatics, the klintons. As for the one who wears the pants, or is it the other way around, it was "The Ten Suggestions". BTW, if I did what Bill did I would be lying in a pool of my own blood with my wife standing over me saying, where is the rest of the .45 ACP ammunition." (I copied this from a former senator, I forgot which one. So don't accuse me of plagiarisim. I will leave that for Biden.) I have been to several Tea Party meetings and have yet to see Nazis, fascists, racists, homophobes, yokels and/or hostage-taking terrorists. I am glad you did not include liberal Jews in with the devout Catholic, the most fervent Evangelical, the most orthodox Jew. Liberal Jews have a bible and a god. Their bible is the NY Slimes (oops Times) and their god is FDR. We resided in the Peoples Republik of Great Neck, NY before we relocated to God's Country (Wyoming) and had to put up with the liberal Jews. BTW, my background is Jewish so they shouldn't call me a Nazi or anti-Semitic (but they have). They also called Jews for the Preservation of Firearms (JPFO.org) anti-Semitic. Figure that out if you have time to waste.

Howard: As we both know, left-wing Jews have only one religion. And it's not Judaism, it's Liberalism. Burt

BurtGod asked the ancient Jews a profound question...recorded in Jeremiah 2: "has a nation changed its gods?"The US was attacked by pantheism in the 60's...where the person became God or at least latent, in search of that eye opening experience. There was no consequence for sin, for there was no sin, WE being the final judge of what was right and what was wrong---it was all relative and subjective. It was bitter fruit. The crowing effect of that is a rise of elitism, those who figure that though we are all god, they have begun to realize it and thus see better how to lead us to the "kingdom"...It was called The New Age Movement back then...today, its called standard education, entertainment, law, religion, etc...main stream. Not a good thing. But, its where the problem is...and it indicates the answer..."Return to Me, and I will return to you."God bless

Thanks, Burt. You have it. Too many have missed how to prioritize the importance of God, family, and whatever comes next in their listing. It happens to all of us, but it seems we are re-finding the correct order.

Thinking of things religous, it is to bad we cannot reincarnate people from the past. We could just go out there and find the bones of Moses and bring him back to life. Moses as most probably know separated the waters for the Jews of the Exodus.Once brought back to life he could simply use his God given talent to separate the water, to separate out our country, the liberals to the left, the conservatives to the right. Now that would be a miracle. Not only would I finaly experience liberty, I would enjoy watching the liberals kill themselves off with their insane position on everything.I`m talking about liberalism that states to protect polar bears capitalists cannot drill for oil, but the same liberalism that then states it is a right to pull an 8 month old developing human in the womb, out of the womb, crack its skull open and suck out its brains. I`m talking about these same liberals not allowing the execution of muderers because it is a sanctity of life issue. I`m talking about preventing the drilling for oil to save the polar bears, the murder of innocent life in the womb, and the lifelong support of convicted murderers all with my, and others, tax dollars. Bill Maher could be the poster boy for liberals. He has an uncanny likeness to a rat faced wiessel. A couple of long hairs protruding from each side of his nose and I could not tell the difference between his face and the real rat faced wiessel. If ever liberals wanted a symbolic mascot for their ideology a rat faced wiessel would be it.The liberal dementia of Americas immature is killing America and dumping pain and suffering on my life. I wish they would just leave, just secede, I`d help them move. Thank you.

Burt et al:Judges are lawyers who got lucky; and I know a couple of lawyers who were/are judges. One is my own lawyer and the other is a good buddy in my JWV post (patron member). I'm a Life Member of JWV and an Airborne Ranger of the Field Artillery persuasion.

Department of Justice, what an oxymoron. As if anything born of the D.C. political system has anything to do with true justice. "Supreme Court Justice." What a crock. The despotic branch for sure.Having been screwed in court a couple of times because of bias and/or laziness, I have no faith in our "justice" system.Liberals have poisoned America and we're dying because of it.

Really good article that shows the hypocrisy on the left regarding who is worshipping what. This has always been a source of frustration, but by breaking it down so concisely it will surely help in future 'discussions' about liberal worship of big government at the total expense of the one true God.

PDKRe: Mosesone good thing about Moses...he left us some guideline for recognizing these folks...called The Ten Commandments...They especially don't like #1...believing the lie "You shall be as God."I am constantly amazed at how these miscreants, which the Bible refers to as as "the lawless" a literally cringe at the thought of an objective standard or limit....Want to weed them out fast...insist on honesty.God speed"Where the principle of difference [between political parties] is as substantial and as strongly pronounced as between the republicans and the monocrats of our country, I hold it as honorable to take a firm and decided part and as immoral to pursue a middle line, as between the parties of honest men and rogues, into which every country is divided." --Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795. SJVet: I am confident that PDK meant "weasel," because when I last checked my dictionary, the word was illustrated with a picture of Bill Maher. PDK: I will try to track down Mona Charen's piece and figure out why QueensJudyG thought her comment was equally appropriate to both articles.Burt

Burt,Well, as far as I'm concerned you've done it now. I NEVER even suspected that you would do it, but you did!!!Being a forester and wood technologist, I am utterly disappointed that you used a tree and the forest as a parallel to liberals and their pursuits!(But since you started it I will finish it.)Conservatives, and especially the tea party are as well-rooted as the mighty oak. Their strength is like the great hickory, and their resillience is as the bending ash. Finally, their beauty is like the graceful magnolia and their aroma fills the air like the fragrant bloom of the locust.Whereas liberals, and, forgive me for this is no insult to the following, are like the aspen, going this way and that in the slightest breeze, and as shallow-rooted as the lowly pine. Their strength is like a wind-blown beech, brash and giving way at the slightest pressure. The personality of a liberal is unlike the graceful dogwood, but more like the stinking ailanthus. How about that for a string of metaphors?Keep it up and Semper Paratus!
