The Right Opinion
The Democratic Party Fascists Take Over
Let's say that you own a business. And let's say that as a person of faith, you decide to use the profits from that business to support, at least in some small part, traditional marriage. Now let's say that your political opponents find your position stunning and launch a boycott against your business.
So far, no harm, no foul. It may be irritating that your political opponents choose to make your personal political predilections the basis of a crushing economic attack. But it's their right.
But now let's say your political opponents are in government. And let's say they use the power of their office to shut down your business -- not because you violated any law or broke any regulation, but because they don't like your position on traditional marriage.
This would be fascism.
Fascists deny that democracy should decide whether or not you have a right to engage in business. They suggest, instead, that political actors, armed with a vague sense of the general will, ought to enforce that vague sense rather than the law. Mao Zedong fervently supported this notion; in his "Little Red Book," he asked where "correct ideas come from." His answer: him. And only politically correct ideas could be tolerated.
Welcome to Barack Obama's America.
Two of Obama's closest political allies, Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston and Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago, came out last week in favor of banning Chick-fil-A from their cities. Chick-fil-A's President and Chief Operating Officer, Dan Cathy, is a supporter of traditional marriage; the company has given money to groups that support traditional marriage politically. This, in the minds of Menino and Emanuel, is a grave sin in need of rapid repentance. "Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago's values," said Emanuel of a city in which dead people vote and live people dodge bullets. "I was angry to learn on the heels of your prejudiced statements about your search for a site to locate in Boston," Menino wrote to Cathy. "There is no place for your discrimination on Boston's Freedom Trail and no place for your company alongside it."
Now, neither Emanuel nor Menino can legally bar Chick-fil-A from their cities. But this attitude -- that businesses are worthy of government bans simply for failing to tow the liberal line -- now infuses the Democratic Party. It's why President Obama's allies at Media Matters consistently team up with him to launch devastating boycotts against conservative business people. It's why those public relations assaults are invariably well coordinated with government actors who suggest that force of law be used to punish those conservative business people.
This is the difference between free speech and fascism. It's one thing for people to choose not to engage in business with people with whom they disagree. That's often nasty and extreme, but it's certainly within First Amendment territory. It's another thing entirely for the government to step in to punish people who disagree with liberal policies, simply because they disagree with liberal policies. That's fascistic. It's deeply dangerous. And it's becoming the ugly new attitude of the Democratic Party elite.

It's the same reason the founder of Melaleuca is being investigated by the IRS--he had the gall to get on Obozo's enemies list.

Re the comment about Hitler--did you know that Hitler rose from a nobody to Chancellor of Germany in less than 6 months (sorry, can't be exact b/c I'm menopausal). He told people what they wanted to hear, 'waived' laws for certain people who could help him, ostracized those he didn't like (making them a target instead of himself). Everything he did, the liberals are doing today. We need to learn history if we don't want to repeat it.

Looks like we are headed to a repeat of nazi germany right here and it is happening NOW! Insted of the Nazi Party it is the Democratic progressive socialist. They are so deperate for power they will do anything to entice the freedom loving people in this country to take action so they may be able to declare martial law and suspend elections before they loose to the vote this November. They really have no Idea what it is they are messing with. Any attempt to retain their power throughfraud or force of arms will back fire very badly.

What liberals do not understand (to be fair: most conservatives don't understand this either), is that when you concede to the government the ability to punish your enemies those exact same powers can be used against you when the party in power changes.
Aside from my philosophical libertarianism, this is the PRACTICAL reason why I oppose drug prohibition, even though I think most drug use is beyond stupid. If "my" guy can throw hippies in prison for possessing a "bad" plant, then "their" guy can imprison me for possessing some "bad" gun.

Your comparison between drug control and gun control is interesting. I'd never considered it that way before.

This is what you get when you elect a third world type tin-pot dictator. I am quite certain that most of who have the gall to post their opinion on this cite are on Obama`s enemies list. If he is re-elected we may face imprisonment and punishment. Heads up people. Our republic is nearly lost. We have one last chance to redeem ourselves. Send the big-eared penis lover back to Chi town in November.

@ Army- I disagree,I think they do understand and very well.I think both parties simply try to weather the storm of the other waiting to get their respective fingers on the trigger. No honor,no integrity,no service to country, simply a quest for power and a battle over other people's property.

I stood in line at a Chick-Fil-A for an hour and a half.To say that the moral majority are sick of the overly-vocal minority is an understatement.I spoke to a 79 year-old gentleman all the while in line.He is outraged at the useful idiots. This man immigrated here in 1957; escaping Communist occupied Hungary. He loves the USA and thinks that Obama-ites are Fascist nitwits. Another guy told me he heard that there will be a gathering this Friday outside these establishments by Homos trying to take a stand against all us bigoted homophobes! The plan is for all of them to be kissing their 'partners' as a sign of Homer solidarity.

Do we really need to make something personal like sexual affection a public, political statement? That in part is what is objectionable about LGBT activism: they say that government has no business being in their bedrooms, then make public displays of their private business in order to overthrow social norms. That doesn't mean we should join in the orgy.

The Democratic Party fascists have taken over? This is supposed to be news? Anyone with an iota of common sense knows this has been the case for years. It is the new way in America. If you like it, vote for Obama in November. If you don't like it, vote him out, then pray.

I just got back from our Chick-Fil-A. It was jammed, spilling out into the parking lot in 104 degree heat. No one was complaining. Two city police were directing traffic. Order was placed quickly but actually getting it took about 25 minutes. Everyone was joking and laughing with one another. The staff were all had smiles and friendly. It was a nice experience. While I was waiting an 18 wheeler came in with fresh supplies. They don't plan to run out of chicken.

Menino, Emanuel and other so called "tolerant" liberals are nothing but intolerant bullies.
Chicago values? For real? The city noted for corrupt politicians, fixed elections and a violent crime rate (it's almost double the rates for both New York City and Los Angeles) that makes living in Afghanistan more appealing.

We really ought to divide the week up alphabetically for eating at Chick-Fil-A, Your last name starts with A-D ,Mondays, E-H Tuesdays, I-M, Wednesdays, N-P, Thursdays, Q-T Fridays, U-Z Saturdays, & closed on Sundays. This way CFA won't run out of Chiken, the workers won't tire as much, & the wait will be shorter for us types with a job.

Your observations about the movement toward a more fascistic government and the difference between free speech and fascism are right on. They are echoed in a post called "The War On Your Speech Rights Has Begun" at Whammisright.Blogspot, com He makes the same points about how they are trying to control our speech through intimidation. Keep up the good fight. We need more people making these points.
