The Right Opinion
10 Reasons Mitt Will Win
Call me Pollyannaish, but I believe Mitt Romney will defeat Barack Obama in November. Let me give you some of my reasons:
1) Romney's campaign message is essentially positive; Obama's is overwhelmingly negative. People always prefer promises of something better, but Americans are especially hungry now because times are very tough. Romney is offering concrete and realistic plans to help America grow again and create millions of new jobs. Romney's message and agenda appeal to all Americans, not just certain groups, and tell them they are not imprisoned in their current economic "station" as Obama would have them believe. Though Obama's promises of "hope and change" in 2008 were vague, at least he presented them as something positive. Today he tells us we must accept an America in decline both internationally and domestically. He insists that 8 percent unemployment is the new normal and that we must adjust to the malaise because it is going to take a long time to make a dent in it.
2) Obama is appealing to people's baser instincts of envy, greed and fear and has deliberately fanned the flames of racial tension for political gain. This would have been bad enough if he'd not presented himself as a post-partisan, post-racial phenomenon.
3) Obama had the wind at his back in 2008 after happening on to a perfect financial storm he claimed he had nothing to do with creating. Today our financial outlook is actually much worse; we are much closer to a Greek-style collapse, and Obama has done nothing and proposed no ideas to avert it. It strains credulity to think Americans are gullible enough to swallow his shameless scapegoating of Republicans for problems he exacerbated and is unwilling or too incompetent to address.
4) Indeed, Obama's record has been horrendous in every category -- economic, debt, national security, military strength, energy dependence, social cohesiveness, religious liberty, race relations, health care and business. America is significantly worse off than it was when Obama took office. It will be extremely difficult for Obama to overcome the reality of his terrible record with his fictional whitewashing of that record.
5) Similarly, it is hard to believe that the liberal media's gross distortion of events will trump the events themselves. For example, Republicans did not have a terrible convention, and Democrats did not have a wonderful one. Republicans presented a positive message; both Paul Ryan's and Romney's messages were strong and inspiring, and Clint Eastwood's speech mostly resonated. Most Democratic speakers were angry and sniping, and Obama's speech was mostly flat, empty and uninspiring. Bill Clinton's wonkish fantasy speech was the best they could do, but Clinton is not the candidate. It's also unlikely the media succeeded in fooling people into believing that Obama's terrible jobs numbers and foreign policy week from hell were positive or that Romney's relatively innocuous 47 percent video and his proper criticism of Obama's Middle East apologies were terrible negatives.
6) The avalanche of negativity spewing from the liberal media can be discouraging to conservatives, but the liberal media have steadily lost clout over the past 20 years, and the alternative conservative media have never been more robust. Not only are the liberal media less powerful but also conservative talk show hosts, bloggers, tweeters, columnists and Fox News react with lightning speed to counter every single lie they promulgate.
7) The polls can be discouraging, too, but we've seen this in previous elections. Some pollsters showing Obama significantly ahead have a dubious history of distortion and have used their polls to manipulate instead of report public opinion. Most polls showing Obama ahead are either oversampling Democrats (using 2008 as a model instead of more recent elections) or understating Romney's lead among independents. The Weekly Standard reports that through 2004, every incumbent whose Gallup approval rating was less than 50 percent at this point -- as is Obama's -- lost. In Ohio, thousands more Republicans have ordered absentee ballots than Democrats. Also, I'm skeptical that all poll respondents are being completely candid in their positive responses about Obama for fear of being accused of racism or of being out of step with the manufactured media narrative that Obama is a likable person.
8) Obama is having some difficulty with his base, which is why his campaign is increasingly desperate and shrill. Some blacks are so angry over his liberal social views they may stay home. Some Jews are awakening to Obama's mistreatment of Israel. If Obama were so confident, he wouldn't be so flagrantly neglecting his official duties to feverishly campaign.
9) Conservatives have never been more motivated. Americans reject Obama's radical liberalism. Scott Brown won Ted Kennedy's Senate seat; Democrats took a "shellacking" in the 2010 congressional races; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker won; a strong majority of Americans still hate Obama's proudest achievement, Obamacare; the tea party is more energized than ever; and grass-roots Americans voted with their bellies for Chick-fil-A.
10) Americans haven't given up on America yet. They recoil at Obama's socialist rantings, redistributionism, class warfare, race baiting, apologies for America, attacks on business and domestic energy producers, and bizarre and offensive statements that "the private sector is fine" and that the death of our ambassador was "a bump in the road."

You koolaid drinking fool, you should seek help for your delusion. If you support Obamao, you are a traitor to your country, I would ask you to move to Cuba or North Korea, to realize your dream come true, because that is the vision Obamao has for America. I sense that koolaid drinking remark was racist, which is typical gop. I would call you delusional for thinking that romney/ryan will do anything in terms of improving the ecomony or job creation. Unless you are a millionaire/billionaire you will not be helped by this team. It has become very evident romney can not and will not do anything without the approval of the racist teabaggers. The gop will be better served by getting the teabaggers out of the gop if it's not to late. The RNC convention confirms the observation of many by the sea of white what the gop is really all about.

On the basis on conventions, we also have seen what the DNC is about when it comes to God and this country. I am one who doesn't put stock in persons deicision about practicing faith or not. I do however, have a problem when a policital party of this country, that is a country for religious freedom, is a 50/50 split of the god that our founders based their beliefs upon.

Wow you communist troll, so I disagree and immediately I'm a racist. What in the wide wide world of sports are you takeing to go off the deep end so rapidly, and if racist wasn't ignorant enough, you then use the derogatory and inflamatory "teabagger" slur. Your marxist statist indoctrination is quite obvious, in your clueless lack of any factual arguement. I thought the GOP convention outstanding, but you probably got the warped view from Chris Mathews, does he thrill you too comrade? They didn't bother to show all the ethnic speakers, just spoke over, propogandized, or went to commercial Your party of Marx, however, managed to deny God three times before conventions end. The conventions was horrible even by the standards of the gop. You know it and I know it and so does everyone else. White people see their majority slipping away and they feel threaten. So what do they do, they become embolden with their racism. Answer this. Do you believe that the rules the gop lead states are trying implement regarding voter registration are racially motivated? How you answer will determine whether you are a racist. If you claim it was to stop voter fraud, I will know you are lying.

What does entering the convention have to do with voting? Absolutely nothing and you know it. The laws, rule and regulations for governing the voting process were fine until a Black man won the office. The really sent the gop over the edge. Never in their wildest dream did they image that would happen. They will do anything in an attempt to make sure it never happens again.

CBO described the $716 billion that would be paid out to providers if the ACA is repealed, in a letter to SOTH on July 24th of this year. The 'cuts', were the ACA to stay in place, would come from providers (read: doctors) and hospitals, with home health providers getting slapped around as well. The Justice Department actively worked to strike down the OHIO voter law that extended voting for military. The USGAO confirmed on Sept 4, in a letter to the Senate Finance/House Ways and Means Committees, that the Admin had indeed 'gutted' work requirements.
Brian in Newport News
Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 8:13 AM
Not familiar with the first. Could it be the idea that ObamaCare will be paid for with funds from Medicare? Not sure about that one, but it has to be paid for some way if it stands.
The second, like so many things political can be argued on both sides. The fact is the HHS issued a memo directing states to "consider new and more effective ways to meet the goals of the (1996 Welfare reform) law." The memo went on to say the HHS secretary would consider waivers to states considering worker participation targets. What does that mean? While no waivers have yet been issued (as far as I know), it does sound like it would give states some leeway on requiring welfare recipients to meet targets. Maybe they would not have to work as many hours, or not attend as many job training classes. While it does not rescind the work requirement, it does seem to violate the intent of the 1996 law. So, while the claim is not true, the seeds are there to make it true.
The third I wam willing to concede, although the whole situation seems blown out of context.
That being said, are you trying to tell us that Obama does not lie? What about his shovel ready jobs? What about his refusal to support DOMA, clearly a requirement of his oath of office? What about his promise of transparency, bills posted online for a certain minimum of time pefore passage, debates on C-SPAN? And what do you think about his off-the-record assurance to the Russians that he will have "more flexibility" after the election? Flexibility to do what? If it was a good thing for America, or at least not a bad thing, why would he say it in secret? Does that not SCARE you? What about his promise to the Brady Campaign that he was working on gun control "under the radar"? What about his promise of no tax increases (of ANY type) for families making less than $250K? Are you not afraid of the more than $1 Trillion dollars that has been added to the national debt in each of Obama's years in office? Bush did not do us any favors in that department, but spending under Obama has accelerated and is now at a point that some think it will never be paid back.
Jean, obviously you are going to vote for Obama, and we are going to vote for Romney (not my first choice BTW). But if Obama is re-elected (he might!), just remember we told you so when America slides in to third world status. It will not be entirely Obama's fault, but it will happen on his watch.

Are those lies the same as the Obama lies. Romney killed a steelworkers wife because her husband lost his job. That was proven to be a complete lie. She was still working and had her own insurance. She died 5 years later. The ad showing Ryan pushing Granny off a cliff. The denial that the attack in Libya was not a terrorist act and then having to admit it was. If you are going to accuse Romney and Ryan for lying then do the same for Obama.

Psychologists describe David Limbaugh's desperate twisting of facts to suit his premise "magical thinking". 10 reasons why Romney will win: all foolish hope and denial.
There many reasons Romney won't win but let's burn off the chaff and get to the most critical problems for Romney and conservatives.
Conservatives have moved so far to the right no candidate who appears to embrace their policies will be acceptable to main stream voters.
Romney is a jerk. Mitt Romney's gaffes and foolish asides put voters off. The 47% remark is credibly Romney because there have been so many others. Romney makes himself look bad again and again.
On policy and his own tax records Romney is not forthcoming. He talks and acts like someone who has bad news but won't tell what it is until after the election. Too many people don't trust him.
Barack Obama is liked and admired personally. People are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. They like the guy.

Well, someone needs to let the GOP crybabies know all this. They are in the process of eating their own because they are afraid to appear too conservative. We have had liberal - it does not work. We have had middle of the road - it does not work. America NEEDS conservative now. - that is what works. Mitt Romney needs to not only point out the epic fail that is Comrade Barack Obama, but also what they, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, are going to do to make things better. Keep It Super Simple, but broadcast a plan and stick to it.

I wish I could be as optimistic. Why would the vastly powerful liberal coalition permit a conservative victory that would risk their pursuit of the pleasures of their sin? Obama became our last President four years ago. This election is an exercise demonstrating quixotic dreams of conservatives.
EVERY poll shows Obama ahead, even those with very reliable history.
Though conservatives are enjoying alternative media, a majority of citizens, especially lower income citizens (who commonly do not have frequent access to alternative media) continue to watch main stream media.
More important than news media are comedians, talk show hosts, entertainment writers of TV series. People out of work watch cheap entertainment, and that includes TV. Any who fails to watch TV news (even if they acquire alternative news) routinely entertain themselves with TV. The liberal entertainment elites routinely denigrate conservatives as fools or bigots and conservative issues as trivial or dangerous.
All above is compounded by an administration that has no problem lying to our face, following their ignoble example, Bill Clinton. This administration sings the siren song of equal health, wealth and happiness and asserts differentiation by talent or ambition is prejudice and bigotry. The less ambitious, less talented victims follow like blind “she-ople” into a box canyon of the death of freedom.
Finally, there is no way the extremely well organized liberal grass roots coalition will permit Obama to fail. They will resort to violence, threats of violence and judicial decrees to guarantee all of the following:
(1) conservative voters are limited, extorted, intimidated and disenfranchised,
(2) conservative votes are dismissed, lost, undercounted and/or invalidated;
(3) liberal voters are duplicated, unregistered and illegal,
(4) liberal votes are uncontested and validated.
On Nov 7, watch Obama gloat, and initiate aggressive programs to irrevocably destroy the US, and watch conservatives abandon all hope.
Though an exercise in vanity, I will vote, if for no other reason than to comfort my psychotic delusion I tried to make a difference.

That's not going to happen MAJ. Romney will win and it won't be as close as everyone's predicting. The real fun starts next week so don't despair. Convert a liberal each day. Fairly easy as they run out of ammo quickly.

You surrender too quickly, Major! I think if Obama wins (unlikely) you will see armed insurrection in this country.
He is NOT going to win. Period. Paragraph.

Wow Dave, looks like you touched some shaky nerves. In a free election there is no way NObama would win. But in the infamous words of the great world statesman Joseph Stalin "He who votes does not have the power. He who counts the votes has the power." Does anyone else have the fear that the skewing of political polls might have something to do with the rationalization of the after-election results?

Ease up on Jeannie guys. She is undoubtedly a member of an ethnic group with an average I.Q. of 85 or less,95% of whom support the incumbent, mostly because they were told to.Clearly they are too obtuse to draw logical conclusions.

Is it just me, that it seems more than mere coincidence that the "mighty O" changed the date of the daylight savings change to the Sunday before the election? Just wanted to throw it out there and see what others think.

I agree with you, hope we are right because if we aren't then I'm ashamed of my fellow Americans for their lack of honor and honesty. We have a finite amount of minutes on this planet and the fact that we're giving up our right to life so pols can buy votes with the money they steal from us disgusts me. At this stage of life I'd like to retire and spend time with my Grandchildren but instead my savings are being destroyed and I'm too old to go back to work after they take all my savings and give it to slimeball leeches as "entitlements" so the dependent class can vote for them. Romney is by far the lesser of two evils but even if the House. Senate, and WH are in GOP hands-until we get "real" Conservatives in DC-we all still lose.

David, you did it this time. The desperate libbers are coming out of the woodwork. One thing I notice about staunch liberals, they set no store by history. Everything is hope and change. Jeanne evidently never knew about the many lemmings of Jonestown who believed blindly and did drink the koolaid. Jeanne, socialism has never worked. NEVER. Spending more than you have or can get has never made a person, or a company, or a country successful. Please, dear, start reading: start with the Constitution.
