The Right Opinion
A Goose-Gander Solution
If you like progressive hypocrisy ladled on with a trowel, it doesn't get much thicker than the leftist lard overflowing from the offices of the Journal News newspaper in White Plains, N.Y.
Shortly after the tragedy at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Conn., these anti-gun fanatics decided that a pushback was in order. Thus, the paper published an interactive Google map containing the names and addresses of all the pistol permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties. Despite massive blowback from citizens rightly outraged by this selective invasion of privacy, the Journal contends it will continue its crusade and publish names of permit holders in Putnam County as well.
Now in times past, those offended by such jackboot tactics would have sat back and taken it. This time is different. Blogger Robert Cox with "Talk of the Sound" published his own piece entitled "Map: Where are the Journal News employees in your neighborhood?" The title is self-explanatory. Another blogger and gun owner, Christopher Fountain, who writes a post entitled "For What It's Worth," followed suit and posted the names, home addresses and phone numbers of the Journal News' publisher, editor, visual editor and a number of other staff members.
Editor and Vice President Cyndee Royle, who made the original call to publish the permit holders' names, because "sharing as much information as we could about gun ownership in our area was important in the aftermath of the Newtown shootings," decided that sharing was a one-way street. She pulled down her Facebook page, and her Tweets are "protected," meaning that only "confirmed followers" have access to them.
Sorry Cyndee, no soap. Here's Cyndee's (married name Lambert), address and home and work phone numbers:
Cynthia R, Lambert
17 Mcbride Ave
White Plains, NY 10603
(914) 948-9388
Ditto for Journal publisher Janet Hasson:
Janet Hasson,
3 Gate House Lane,
Mamaroneck, NY 10534
(914) 694-5204
And let's not leave out Dwight R. Worley, the reporter on the story:
Dwight R. Worley
23006 139 Ave
Springfield Gardens, NY 11413
(718) 527-0832
All of the above are courtesy of Christopher Fountain. I'm publishing them as well because "sharing as much information as we could about self-important media types in the area is important in the aftermath of irresponsible publishing decisions."
Now mind you, I take no particular pleasure in doing something that I might have refrained from doing in the past. But for far too long, those of us who wish to "live and let live" have taken a mountain of crapola from those who consider themselves the doyens of cultural superiority. Self-righteous blowhards who expected us to grin and bear it, shrug our collective shoulders and move on. I can't speak for everyone else, but I've had enough.
And guess what? So have the hypocrites at the Journal. As reported by Politico on Tuesday, the paper "has hired armed security guards to defend its offices." Like I said above, hypocrisy ladled on with a trowel. The only thing more satisfying would be a boycott by those who advertise in this rag, along with mass cancellations of subscriptions by Journal readers. A bankrupt newspaper forced to close down it offices would thus have no need for armed guards.
Problem solved.

Nothing like using the lefties tactics on them. Now all Patriots should call these hypocrites at the Journal and with all civility let them now how you feel.

We should write letters and call them. Keep it up as long as necessary to make their lives a living hell. I'm with Arnold and Buff53, we have stood by for way too long and not responded to the idiot left. Now its time to feed the idiots some of their own medicine.

How on earth did these low-minded cretins ever connect the actions of the villainous Sandy Hook shooter with every person who owns a gun?
You have to give it to the left, when it comes to muddy thinking...they get an A+. I propose that every time you are asked to register for something that will generate junk mail, telemarketing calls, etc., give them the name and number of one of these three morons. Sign them up for a membership in the NRA, at gun shows, for credit cards, whatever. The sky is the limit. The left likes to play on the same field as middle-schoolers, Help them out here.

Great column, AA. In all the coverage of this, I have not seen anyone mention the fact that these published lists also let even a stupid would-be burglar/rapist/whatever determine where guns are NOT likely to be. If I saw such a list in my area and was unarmed, that is, not on the list, I'd be shopping for a pistol pdq and putting an NRA decal on my front door.

If the liberals keep it up, the next list of addresses should be those marxists and useful idiots who voted for the collapse, so we will know who to take out when the civil war starts.

RPM, Your post just demonstrates the anti-gun illogic. First, can you define "gun nut" or is that anyone who owns a gun? Second, do you really believe that someone with the intent to kill those people will start their search with an Arnold Ahlert column? Please, your emotional responses to the problem of evil or mentally unstable people committing acts of violence just exacerbates the problem by masking the root cause. Guns are tools that can be used to harm others like knives, ropes, airplanes, hammers, shovels, cars, etc. Try to give this some thought before you comment.

With a comment like that, RPM may not be able to form a cogent thought.

The Connecticut legislature is considering releasing the names of citizens with concealed carry permits. Just glad I reside in Wyoming where no permit needed to carry open or concealed.

And for what purpose? So that those folks who follow the law, and obtain a carry permit in order to protect themselves without alarming others by the sight of gun ( at which point they always call for police "I saw a man with a gun!)- these folks can be ridiculed, threatened, demeaned, or attacked?
First, concealed carry permit holders do not commit crime. The numbers tell the story. CWP holders are not the problem They have been fingerprinted, background checked, and in many States required to go thru State mandated training programs.
Second, these people are all around you every day. The public should be grateful that these people have been willing to subject themselves to government scrutiny, pay money for a license, and comply with restrictions on their 2nd Amendment rights in order to have the means at hand to stop deadly violence against themselves -- or possibly you.
CWP holders do not brandish weapons. They do not shoot up the neighborhood. They do not threaten their neighbors. Keep in mind that they have no obligation to get involved in your struggle for life against an assailant. It is only if circumstances and threat to life are sufficiently obvious that a "sheepdog" CWP holder would likely intervene and present his firearm.
Actually, the folks at the newspaper do not need to be grateful, they just need to leave us alone, and we will continue to do the same.

And yet with their decisions not to purchase a weapon for protection Liberals AGAIN mooch off conservatives. The free-loading non-gun owner benefits from the criminal not knowing just who is packing heat and who is not. I say once a decision is made not to have a weapon and then make it their mission to disarm others then they ought to paste "Gun Free" stickers on their cars, home and person. Quit mooching off the Conservative gun owners you Liberals. Be loud and proud of being gun free:

I'm wondering when they'll publish a list of all the women who had abortions. Even though they didn't break the law they can be seen as "dangers" to society, especially uborn children. Or how about tax cheats--they don't pony up the money they are supposed to so the left can pay for all of their social programs? I find it hilarious they have hired ARMED guards.

Maybe we should start publishing the names and addresses of those with ACLU memberships or those who are avowed left-wing radicals i.e.Ayers,Obama,Pelosi.et al. If these liberal jackasses want a war of attrition then bring it on!

More and more I’m reading about renegade people in the media and also in government that are talking about not only changing the constitution but throwing it out altogether. I just read that congressmen Jose Serrano from Dist 15 in New York introduced resolution 15 to repeal the 22nd amendment. He thinks that term limits for the president should be abolished. A couple of days ago, I saw some moron Georgetown law professor saying that the constitution is outdated and should be thrown away. There seems to be more and more of this type of thinking by left wing liberal nut cases. It proves to me that our forefathers saw this coming over two hundred years ago and put safeguards in place to prevent it. We live in dangerous times and we are surrounded by dangerous people and the time is coming where people are going to have to take a stand.

Why don't they just put "No Guns Allowed On These Premises" stickers on their doors? That would save them a lot on money on security. Obama and Bloomberg should do the same thing - let the Secret Service and NYPD do something useful since, they assure us, weapons are useless for security - and a danger besides! I'd even be willing to give Obama and Bloomberg cell phones that speed-dial 9-1-1, plus a rape whistle. That seems fair.
I'll spring for one of those cell phones for Pelosi, too - but no rape whistle for her: she would never, Ever, EVER, in a million years need one of those.
Leftist hypocrisy is simply breathtaking.
