Debunking Liberalism and Islam
· Monday, February 1, 2010
Recently, a conservative I know suggested that it would be great if all the liberals packed up and moved to, say, France. Although I happen to have a few liberal friends and I would surely miss them, I certainly endorse and second his motion.
Over night, the rest of us could start believing what we read in the newspapers and we could start electing people who didn’t think their first order of business was to go around the world apologizing to a bunch of ne’er-do-wells for America’s alleged sins.
We could once again have public school teachers who thought it more important to teach our young kids how to read and write than how to slip a prophylactic on a banana, and professors who would encourage our older kids to think for themselves and not simply parrot left-wing propaganda.
In no time at all, as if the country had entered a time machine, we would find ourselves in a land that honored members of the U.S. military more than those various self-aggrandizing sots and sex addicts who populate the U.S. Senate and, what’s more, we’d pay them more.
If all our left-wingers wound up on the Left Bank, not only would we avoid the risk of electing ex-community organizers who have an unnatural reluctance to call Islamic terrorists by their rightful name, but we’d all have a much easier morning commute and a far easier time finding parking spaces.
Speaking of jihadists, a reader asked me the other day if I believed we could win the war against the Islamists. I said I thought we could, but it wouldn’t be quick and it wouldn’t be easy. Which are two reasons that liberals wouldn’t be interested.
First, we would need to finally have a commander-in-chief willing to bite the bullet, toss political correctness to the wind, and acknowledge that a state of war exists. Next, we’d need a Congress that would join with the president in making a formal declaration.
After that, we would need to stop worrying about what the Koran says or doesn’t say. We wouldn’t be going to war against that book any more than we went to war against “Mein Kampf.” So whether the Koran calls us a bunch of pigs and monkeys or whether it says that Muslims have a duty to lie to infidels if it’s to their advantage is neither here nor there. Our war would be waged against those who have been trying to kill us for the past few decades, not against some words on paper.
To those who insist that most Muslims are not looking to murder anyone, I say, fine -- then they can lend us a hand. Let them join the underground and help us root out the bad guys and kill them. Let them join the resistance, as many people did during World War II in France, Holland, Norway and even in Germany.
Next we have to stop worrying so much about collateral damage and about the alleged sanctity of mosques. We also have to stop worrying about immediately rebuilding every damn thing we just knocked down.
We can win this war when we stop fretting about whether we’re being discourteous when we stop members of Al Qaeda from flying to Detroit, when we stop concerning ourselves with whether everyone likes us and concentrate on making certain that our enemies fear us.
We can win this war when the countries that act as sponsors and sanctuaries for the terrorists start seeing their capitals bombed and when self-proclaimed war lords in Pakistan and Afghanistan are reminded that they’re nothing more than two-bit thugs with fancy titles.
We can win this war when our national leaders stop reminding us that most Muslims are not terrorists and, instead, remind themselves that most Russians, Chinese and Cambodians, weren’t Communists, most Germans weren’t Nazis and most Italians weren’t fascists. The fact remains that most of them not only did nothing to prevent Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Hitler and Mussolini, from drenching the earth in oceans of blood, but performed most of the dirty work for them.
Some people say that Barack Obama isn’t even constitutionally entitled to be president. Other people, with absolutely no documentation to back them up, insist that he was born in Hawaii. For my part, I keep waiting for the courts to settle this matter. But in the meantime, it’s enough for me that he went to Egypt and Turkey and rhapsodized about the magnificent contributions that Muslims made in establishing the United States. Which, in case you happened to miss school that day, is a matter of historical record, unlike Obama’s birth certificate, medical records and passport. Most of us, I’m sure, are well aware that America was created in accord with Judeo-Christian-uh-Muslim principles. Proof of this is that, no matter where you go in the Muslim world, you will find freedom of speech, assembly and, most of all, religion.
Obama never lets an opportunity go by when he doesn’t say respectful, even loving words about Islam. They are not, oddly enough, sentiments I have heard him direct to devout Christians. Instead, I seem to recall his ridiculing them as those folks who cling to their religion and their guns.
Not too long ago, we were told time and again that the man was the messiah. Now, after a catastrophic year that has included cash for clunkers; a soaring national deficit; cap and trade; bribes for senators in order to push through CastroCare; more and bigger lies about global warming; closing Gitmo as a PR stunt; trying enemy combatants in civilian courts; and filling his administration with tax cheats, Socialists and Communists; he’s shown himself to be far less a messiah and far more a mess.

Well said Mr. Prelutsky. You have said what we will never hear on TV or read in the major newspapers. You also answered the lead article that Michael Barone asks " who is Obama trying to please"?

Exceptionally well said! Lemme get this straight. The United States Senate contains Al Franken, but there's no Burt Prelutsky? The House of Representatives contains Barney Frank, but Burt Prelutsky can't make laws that expand freedom and increase prosperity for Americans?
Mr Prelutsky is absolutely right. I just got into a heated discussion with a group of PC clowns who insist that a) Islam is a race and anyone who criticized Islam is therefore racist, b) Christians are just as bad, with all the millions who have died during Christian wars over the years and c) if we just hug the Muslims they'll love us and stop trying to kill us all.
Abject insanity.
First of all, Islam is no more a race than the Moon is a star. Just being a light in the sky doesn't make it a star. Lots of things are lights in the sky other than stars: moons, galaxies, planets, airplanes, auroras, comets, meteors, fireworks, etc. Saying that Islam is a race is like saying the blinking running lights on a 747 are giving you a sunburn.
Second, Islam is killing us specifically due to their religion. It commands them to kill non-Muslims, or to at least subjugate them. Where are the worldwide events in Christianity in which millions of people were killed in the name of Christ? I keep hearing two examples cited by the Left: the Inquisition and the Salem witch trials. Yet, in the entire 350-year history of the Inquisition, less than 3000 people were killed. We lost that many in one day thanks to Islam. In Salem, a LOT of noise has been made about that event, but quite frankly it's hard to understand why so much has been made of it when only 18 people were killed. Granted, that's too many and it was horrifying. But comparing that to Islamic terrorism is like comparing a pimple on my butt to the Andes Mountains. The only reason this sneer is even attempted is to defend Islam with Politically Correct nonsense while slamming Christianity for grossly exaggerated wrongs. So on the one hand, they're totally downplaying the horrors of Islam, even to the point of lying about what a peaceful religion it is, and on the other hand they're blowing the sins of Christianity so far out of proportion as to be clear over the horizon. That's not honest. It's Political Correctness.
And finally, the one good thing President Obama has done for us is the utter demolition of that absurd fantasy that if we just LOVE the Muslims better, they'll love us back. That was Ghandi's advice to the Jews in Germany as well -- "don't fight back, the Nazis will learn from your example." Obama's been trotting all over the world for a year hugging Muslims, bowing to Muslims, practically performing exotic fetishes on the Muslims -- and in return we get the first THREE Islamic terror attacks on US soil in 8 years. Dozens of dead Americans. THAT's what hugging Islam gets us.
It's time to take the gloves off, to get serious about this war. Dinesh D'Souza is right. We are no more fighting a war against terrorism than in WWII we were fighting a war against Kamikazeism. The Kamikaze was simply a tactic used by the enemy. The enemy was Imperial Japan. Likewise, terrorism is just one of the tactics used by our present enemy, which is radical Islam. It's time we stopped pussy-footing around with that elemental fact.

For some reason we the US does not understand how serious the radical Muslims are. We did not understand Hitler, Tojo or Mousolini either. The result of that "misunderstanding" was the Holicaust, The loss of 20 Million plus Russions, A like number of Germans, Millions of French, Englis and Italians. Not to mention our losses, The Japaneese also suffered greatly and had the distinct pleasure of being on the receving end (twice) of the first atomic bombs used in anger.
We have not paid attention to our lessons. The result could possibly be to our distruction. We as a people must take back our government and make it responsive to "We The People".For too long we have slept in our cozy houses thinking we are safe, Who is there to harm us? We found out on 9/11 the copst of letting our guard down. We continue to think our government will save us, The reality is we have to do that for opurselves and it starts with getting responsible responsive people elected to represent us. People who under stand they answer to us not the caucus.

It's nice to be appreciated, so thanks to the three who have commented thus far. For more about radical Islam, please read my book, "Liberals: America's Termites." I especially recommend chapter 4, "Islam is a Peaceful Religion, and If you Don't Believe It, They'll Cut Off Your Head." It's available through Amazon or through BurtPrelutsky.com.

Burt,
You've heard of the Free State Project? My idea is just the opposite. Let all the liberals move to one or more connected states. Heck, pay them to do so, it would be way cheaper than what they're doing to us now. Let them set up their own little utopia and we'll have fun watching it implode. Just leave the rest of us the hell alone. I gladly give them California, Oregon and Washington, which are mostly gone anyway.

Just seems your writing is not to the point- just collection of rambling grunts against the present administration that's been heard before.

The Liberalism interpretation Islam is based on ignorance of the world they way they wish it was instead of the way it is. There is no where they could ever move that will bring safety and peace to anyone. The only solution for those imbeciles is lobotomy and I am not sure that will help as they all act as if that procedure has already taken place.

Mr Prelutsky,
Thank you for a well written and thoughtful essay on liberalism and its ills.
I'm going look for your book now.
Again sir, thank you.

Brilliant column Mr. Prelutsky, thank you. Three well-placed nukes would put an end to the religion and to the Global War on Terror. Yes, there really is one going on, contrary to what the present shameful administration claims. Only one problem though. Our military has to stop caving to the PC philosophy. Our military is supposed to exist only to kill people and break s..t!

AnnieO--Thanks for the kind words. You are right about the military. You can generally count on them to do the right thing, but what chance do they have when the PC police are on their backs. It was bad enough that three members of our military got called on the carpet for bitch-slapping a terrorist, but then, for good measure, the report on Major Hasan managed to avoid even mentioning that he is a jihadist. When the military starts to be as politically correct as the NY Times, we are all in big trouble.
As for c--You always have the right to avoid reading my articles. That's part of what makes America so great.

hey im a muslim. i feel the hate already.
yeah islam isn't a race. ofcourse it isn't it's a religion. any idiot should know that.
i know im a bit young to be ..or trying to participate in an argument like that but i don't think muslims are fighting christians because of the religion. i think it has to do with the fact that they might've just got fid up. fid up of what?
jee i wonder. maybe from everyone trying to conquere their country. the turks took over for a couple of centuries then england and france mostly tried to control islamic countries for oil and other riches. oh and i cant forget israel can i?
then america somehow jumps in to the rescue in iraq and iran and God knows where else saying theyre here to help while shooting the innocent.
yeah there are a lot of misguided muslims out there that are only muslims by name. but it isnt like you're any better. not when u invaded, took over, encourage.
