Diddling While America Burns
· Monday, January 30, 2012
The worst thing about the political debates isn't the format or the content, but that it magnifies debating skills to such an extent. I keep hearing that Gingrich would demolish Obama in a debate. I disagree. Republicans would watch such a debate and decide that Newt had mopped the floor with Barack; Democrats would see it the other way around. And the next day, the liberal media would announce that Obama won by a knockout in the first round.
As we all know, a president no more needs to be a great debater than he needs to know how to juggle plates, play the accordion or yodel.
Apparently, in Jodi Kantor's book, "The Obamas," the thing that unites Barack and Michelle is the sincere belief that America needs to be radically transformed. Apparently, they both subscribe to the nutty notion that the gap that exists between those who are successful and those who are poor has nothing much to do with hard work, dedication, talent and ambitious goals, everything to do with "opportunity, power, access and wealth."
Even I have to grant that power and access explain how it was that Michelle came to be paid an astronomical $350,000-a-year working as a part-time administrator at a Chicago medical center once her husband was elected to the Illinois legislature.
It also appears that when some of us have accused Obama of being arrogant and narcissistic, we weren't just whistling "Dixie." He has apparently told his staff that he knows more about banking than bankers, is a better writer than his speechwriters and knows more about issues than his policy directors. In 2008, he was quoted as saying, "I think I could probably do every job on the campaign better than the people I'll hire to do it."
That's pretty big talk coming from a guy who never held an actual job prior to being elected president, unless you're one of those people who believes that being a community organizer for ACORN looks impressive on a resume.
One of the scariest things I've gleaned from the book is that Barack relies on Michelle to let him know the pulse of the nation. This is a woman who is either jetting off on exotic vacations at taxpayer expense or hosting galas at the White House for the likes of Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks and Oprah. Using Michelle as a sounding board sounds a lot like Louis XVI relying on Marie Antoinette to tell him what was really bugging the French peasants.
Apparently, Obama, who in conjunction with his attorney general, Eric Holder, has created the most racist administration in American history, is of the opinion that the only reason he could possibly lose his bid for re-election is white racism. In his opinion, it can't possibly have anything to do with ObamaCare; an additional six trillion dollars in national debt; taking his marching orders from George Soros and public sector unions; playing politics with the XL oil pipeline; the first ever downgrading of America's credit rating; 47 million Americans on food stamps; an unemployment/underemployment rate of 16%; and his giggling like a school girl when he announced, after blowing a trillion tax dollars on his stimulus bill, that apparently shovel-ready jobs weren't quite as shovel-ready as he'd insisted.
So, Obama would have us believe that the same country that elected him over John McCain in 2008 is now the land of bigotry if the folks don't make that mistake again. He'd do well to recall the old adage: fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us.
He reminds me of the black basketball coach who, a few years ago, sued the college that fired him, claiming racism. He somehow managed to overlook the fact that, one, over the course of three seasons, the team had lost three times as many games as they had won; and, two, that the bigots who fired him were the very same people who had hired him in the first place.
Speaking of "basketball," over the past few years, conservatives are taken to task if they even utter the word in connection with Obama, even though he loves being photographed driving for an uncontested lay-up. He also enjoys establishing his street creds by talking about March Madness and the NCAA basketball tournament, lest people start thinking he spends all his time on the golf course, just like all those rich white guys he's always whining about.
But conservatives are also accused of speaking in racist code if they even say words like "entitlements" and "food stamps." As you may recall, Juan Williams, who's no stranger to playing the race card, scolded Newt Gingrich for that very thing during the GOP debate down in Myrtle Beach.
It's a strange world when white conservatives stand accused of bigotry if they vote against someone whose policies and philosophy they find equally offensive whether advanced by Obama or promoted by his white allies in Congress. But nobody dares mention racism, or even misogyny, when prior to giving 97% of their votes to Obama in the general election, a huge majority of blacks supported Obama in his run against the equally liberal Hillary Clinton.
Finally, I suppose most of you have heard about the policy recently introduced in Washington, D.C., mandating that exterminators treat rats as if they were an endangered species, and transport them painlessly to a different location. When I first heard the news, I threw my hat in the air and hollered "Hurrah!" The letdown came a few minutes later when I found out they were talking about actual four-legged rodents and not Harry Reid and his cronies in Congress.
Although it is difficult to understand why D.C. politicians would create such a goofy program, I suspect the answer lies in the old joke about the reason that sharks never attack lawyers swimming in the ocean; namely, professional courtesy.

Burt,
Another black basketball coach was almost fired recently, but after some stimulis money found it's way into that college's coffers, they decided a losing record was acceptable.
Wasn't that coach somehow related to Michelle?

If by simply objecting to Obamas policies, in any way, makes me a racist. Then, when it comes to losing my freedom, my money and my country..... I'm downright bigoted.
By the way. The" out of touch" queen of the White House just spent a bunch of money on sleep-ware.

Of course Burt, we have to keep in mind... to the Obamas "the nation" IS Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks, Oprah, George Soros, and the public sector unions. The rest of us are simply the unwashed masses to be used in support of that "nation."
Just started Mark Levin's book "Ameritopia." Great book so far and looks to be even better than his "Liberty and Tyranny" book was, which I still highly recommend.
God Save the Republic.

Come on Burt,
I still assert Obama is more white than black, because his mother was white, and we all know in today's liberal/ feminist sector of society, the father is useless save the sperm.
Also, Cronyism is valid as long as it's the black people benefiting, instead of the racist whiteys.

Outstanding as usual. Just one question: how is "community organizer" different from "racist agitator"?

Most people don't realize the scope and depth of the Obama cronyism and payoffs for his big supporters and bundlers.
If you have the stomach, read Peter Schweizer's book, "Throw Them All Out."

Members of Congress are four-legged; they just pretend to walk upright to avoid species identification. Neither physical nor philosophical uprightness exists among the infestation of political creatures gnawing away at our liberties. By legislating a nomenclature of "Stinking Vermin Superlativarattus", applicable only to elected criminals and conartists with remnants of the citizens' pie on their fingers, they have thus far avoided the wrath of the Exterminator upstairs. With profits from their insider trades, the Stinking Vermin are too fat for a rat trap.
"Professional Courtesy" may extend from the rats to the politicians, but when the Big Black Rat Pellet with the Big Ears comes sashaying down the aisle like a cockroach on a skateboard, the cowardly, duplicitous, reprobates, known affectionately as our Senators and Representatives, give Him the "Professional Curtsey"...or, as one southerner might say, "a boot licking".
The absurd spectacle of these comical political buffoons applauding the radical, disingenuous purveyor of nonsensical untruths and self-aggrandizements for more than an hour is enough to make one drink a tall mug of rat poison. Not to mention the kowtowing, tongue wagging, and face sucking following His Magnificence’s teleprompted discourse of false ideals and no ideas.
I could use a drink now! Care to join me?

Holmes, please don't insult rats and cockroaches by comparing members of Congress and Obastard to them.

Rats! So we cannot kill rats anymore? What in the world are we going to do with all of these DemocRATS in Congress, after we throw them out!!

Jim G- "The rest of us are simply the unwashed masses to be used in support of that "nation." How true. This way of thinking of the great 'unwashed' began in the late 60's when Personnel departments became Human Resource departments, & when Health, Education, & Welfare HEW departments became Health, Human Resources, & urban Development. I know I began to behave differently once I realized I was no longer a Person "endowed by my creator with certain inalienable rights" but was a cog, a widget; a part of a much larger machine. Well-oiled with expensive foreign lubricants bought and paid for with other Human Resources.

Attila: To answer your question: There is no difference, but "community organizer" sounds better than "racist agitator," just as "waste engineer" sounds better than "garbage collector."

Hillary spent how many years toadying up to the black special interests. And remember, Bill was supposed to be the first black President. I knew when she was fighting O for the nomination, her favorite folks would throw her under the bus and they did. Wonder if she really expected them to support her over O?
Reminds me of the OJ trial (among other instances) how they circle their wagons. Never acknowledging wrong-doing much less any negative consequences. Ever.
Thanks Burt,
Carolyn

Carolyn: What most surprised me was that the Clintons barely mentioned Rev. Wright until late in the campaign. Once they did, Hillary began to win primary elections, but by then it was too late. I guess The Smartest Woman in America thought if she played that card, she would lose the black vote in the general election. I never did quite figure out why John McCain refused to connect Obama to Wright. I guess he thought it wasn't the statesmanlike thing to do. With opponents as goofy as that, it's no wonder Obama wound up in the White House.

Burt,
I believe that McCain didn't connect Wrtight to Obama is mainly because he's a moron. I laugh when I see him now toadying up to Romney hoping for some bone from his plate.
As to the reference of Louis XVI and Marie Antionette, why, since they obviously believe that they are the incarnation of French royalty, don't we treat them like French royalty?

Honest Abe
Racism is a priviledged, if not useful, tool of the liberals in charge. When any company does not have enough minorities in its employ the government makes them hire more, irregardless of ability and usually to a determined high percentage. However, when a government or black-owned company has 90+ percent black employees they get handouts and a government award for affirmative action. I would assume Mr. and Ms. Obama view the Harlem Globetrotters, Inc. as an example of what business America should be.

Interesting read but the law in DC didn't protect rats from extermination. Rats aren't part of the group of wildlife identifed as commensal rodents that were covered by the legislation.
I'm not sure if there is a way to fix the debate problem. It reminds me of some movie scenario's where a bunch of people have to fight each other first before they can take on the current champion.
The victor of the early battles arrives beaten, tired, bloodied but somehow with just enough stamina and perseverance to overcome the initial beating he takes from the champion. While it plays well in the movies I doubt that it can play out well in the political ring.
We need some other process that lets our candidate arrive fresh for the battle with the President. Maybe something along the lines of nominations from the current State Governor's.
I have long held the position that you shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of 50 States if you have never been in charge of one. Electing any President that comes from within the Legislative Branch just skews the odds for laws in the favor of one party or the other without any background in administration.

Geoff: I like the way you think.
Honest Abe: Right you are. It's interesting that the Globetrotters travel nearly as much as the Obamas and the parallel doesn't stop there. The Globetrotters get to beat up the Washington Generals on a daily basis in much the same way that Obama beats up House Republicans.
XCpt: Somehow, people always manage to survive primary campaigns and let bygones be bygones. Hillary didn't trust Obama to get those 3 a.m. phone calls, but she didn't mind signing on to be his secretary of state. Don't be too surprised if Gingrich winds up being Romney's secretary of state.

Burt, I understand the Globetrotters are all black. They have no players under 5' 6" and no players in wheelchairs. Isn't this some kind of discrimination?

Africa for the Africans,Asia for the Asians, white countries for EVERYBODY!
Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.
The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.
Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.
What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?
How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?
And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?
But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.
They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.
Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.

Howard: You would think so. But no less an authority on racism than Jesse Jackson pointed out that because white Americans constitute the power structure in America, no member of a minority group could ever be accused of being a racist. At the time he made that inane remark, I suggested that if true, no one in the KKK could ever be accused of being a racist because they were a powerless minority in spite of being Caucasians. Being a racist has nothing to do with power, everything to do with character and values.
Thanks, Tex. I liked it, too.

Hey Burt and astute readers. Do you think it’s necessary to elaborate on Geoff’s rapier like French royalty remark; that he has in mind a simple mechanism that efficiently separates head from torso? Nah. Only the uneducated young and their older OWS peers would need an explanation, and they seldom venture into Prelutsky land.
