Deporting the Wrong Man
· Tuesday, June 29, 2010
What should be done with a man who infiltrated the terrorist group Hamas, spied for Israeli intelligence and broke up terror attacks, saving countless Israeli, as well as Palestinian, lives? Most people would say he should be honored. Not the U.S. government, it's trying to deport him.
Mosab Hassan Yousef was more than a spy. He is the son of a founding leader of Hamas, which made him among the highest prizes for Israeli intelligence. Yousef and his Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) handler, Gonen Ben Itzhak, were in Washington last week, meeting with whoever would listen to them. Yousef told me -- and Itzhak confirmed -- that he never killed anyone and, in fact, prevented many from being killed, while providing useful information that thwarted numerous terror attacks.
In San Diego tomorrow (Wednesday) before an immigration judge, the government will charge that because of Yousef's "terrorist associations," he should be deported. Yousef tells me, "I acted like a terrorist in order to fool terrorists," but again emphasizes he never committed a terrorist act.
His is a remarkable story which he tells in a book "Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Courage." Yousef is a man without a country. He was admitted to the United States in 2007 for medical treatment. His passport has expired. The government is holding his travel documents. If he is deported, he will be a prime target for those who consider him an infidel and traitor.
President Obama's "Muslim adviser," Dalia Mogahed, has endorsed a movement started by Turkey's Fethullah Gulen, which seeks to restore the Ottoman Empire and establish a universal caliphate; but Yousef, a Christian convert, faces expulsion from America. The administration has it backward.
In an interview, I asked Yousef what evidence the government intends to use against him. He says, "In my book, I give in great detail my affiliation with Hamas. I give an example that I gave five Hamas terrorists a safe house. This is right, but what they are missing from the picture is that I did this as part of Israeli intelligence." By providing them a safe house, Yousef helped Israeli intelligence identify and in many cases arrest terrorists, stopping attacks.
Yousef says he and Itzhak became such close friends that Itzhak, by testifying in his favor at the deportation hearing, will violate the wishes of Israeli intelligence, which worries about exposure.
Does Yousef have a message for Americans about the rapid construction of mosques throughout the country and radical Islam? First, he says, "you must realize that the word 'Islam' means submission. I am afraid of the ideas taught in mosques and the Islamic student movement in every American college and school in general. This ideology is a real danger ... it is an ideology of hate and revenge, of forcing people to convert to Islam or be killed. This is at the heart of the Islamic faith."
"But we need to understand there is a difference between Muslims and Islam," he says. "Muslims are wonderful people. They are peaceful, in general. I don't want people to be scared or look down at Muslims in this country."
Is this a distinction without a difference? No, he says, there are "cultural Muslims" who don't understand or read the Koran and then there are Islamists who take their faith and its application seriously, to the point of forced conversions, honor killings and terrorism. Yousef says there are no "moderate" Islamists and he suggests those Americans who think so are deluded.
Yousef dissects his former faith and its founder without pulling punches and his book is one Americans should read and believe. No wonder the government wants to expel him. He goes against what the Obama and Bush administrations and the pro-Arab State Department are trying to sell us.
A convert is often the best source of information about the dangers of his or her former faith. Yousef's deportation would be a victory for those who want to destroy America and everything it's supposed to stand for.

It so figures for our government, doesn't it? The one man who did any good at all is to be deported, while 2 million illegal aliens that we support remain in our country.

The right man to deport is Barry Soetoro.

To whom would I (and others) make known our desire to keep Mosab Yousef here in the Untied States? Is there a possibllity that this would be beneficial in the State Department's decision?

If he gets deported, just sneak back in though Mexico, then the Federal government cannot touch him (in fact ICE will refuse to pick him up if captured in Arizona) and he will be in line for amnesty, voting rights, welfare and other benefits denied Americans.

It figures! Anyone who would be beneficial to America, and not beneficial to Obama, and his love for his radical Muslim cronies, is to be deported! Anyone with half a brain, can see that Obama definitely does not have the best interests of America in his heart. It was those same "half brains" that elected him in the first place, and foisted this nightmare on America! VOTE IN NOVEMBER 2010, and take away his Congress of stooges, then remove the "alien President" in 2012. The very survival of America depends on these 2 things!

I cannot help but wonder how many illegals have been rounded up and detained along with this Godly man. Terrorists come out of the Middle East and up through Mexico to infiltrate America; Islamic radicals use our educational systems and take advantage of all this country has to offer, while plotting our demise; the drug runners, the gang members, the traffickers in human flesh. They get in and are embraced. The Obama-nation is upon us. May God help us. One must wonder how much more America has to see before she comes together and cries out for the removal of those who claim to love America while helping to destroy her from within.

Yes I agree, deport the person who is the most dangerous to the United States, Barry or Barak or whatever his name is and deport his wife with him.

From the 50's
Let's make sure the right people get deported,(and never let in again) The Muslim faith (Islam) is not only spreading through our schools. It is spreading through our prisons also. The people who are being affected will some day return to our society, what then? If some one is to be deported lets start at the White house. At least we will get rid of the right people.

The patriotic thing to do would be for patriots to hide this guy out until we get a more American red white and blue government in place, starting in November. Hey! I'll start the ball rolling since I don't cotton to cotton pickin' traitors.

'We the people . . .' are either going to have to take care of the Muslim problem in this country by coming together as we do in times of crisis and putting the RIGHT American's, called patriots in office, or for the first time utilize that amendment the founders blessed us with in defense of our enemies . . . both foreign and domestic.
PS: I like the term EXILE better than deport when it comes to domestic enemies of the state. We also know where it should begin.

The "talking head" Obama, needs to get his alien visa, or face expulsion, like all the other illegal aliens! Go to the back of the line, Barry, and how have you avoided fraud charges, for those numerous foreign student loans, if you are an American/not!

@Elizabeth and all:
I've researched this and Cal Thomas has his facts right (except for the last word in the subtitle of Yousef's books. It's "Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices," not courage!) I've phoned and written on Yousef's behalf.
Word needs to get to DHS/ICE attorney Kerri Calcador. She can either proceed with vigor against Yousef or wave him through. She's going with the former it seems. In fact, ICE has said that if the judge finds for Yousef, they will appeal.
OPTIONS for conveying your concern:
Phone
-->Call Attorney Kerri Calcador, who represents Homeland Security, technically Immigration and Customs Enforcement in San Diego (the one trying to deport Yousef):
Phone: 619-557-5578
You will be told that the attorney won't speak with the public. It may be worth making this call anyway, so that the attorney's office knows that many people are interested and watching!
-->You'll be told to call Lauren Mack who is Public Affairs Officer for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in San Diego.
Mack's phone: 619-744-4617. You'll likely just get voicemail, but you can leave a message.
E-mail:
-->Mack stated e-mail is the most effective means of reaching her, so she can forward people's concerns efficiently.
Mack's e-mail: lauren.mack@dhs.gov
Request that she forward your message to Calcador and anyone else involved in denying Yousef asylum.
-->Calcador: I believe you can get right to Calcador using kerri.calcador@dhs.gov
I sent an e-mail to Mack and Bcc-ed the above e-mail for Calcador and didn't get a bounce back!
Additional info to know:
Yousef's Dept of Homeland Security File is #A 088 271 051
Yousef appears before Judge Rico Bartolomei in San Diego at 8 a.m. Wednesday June 30.
DHS originally denied Yousef's political asylum application on Feb. 23, if I remember correctly.
IMPORTANT:
--The FBI has cleared Yousef and advised DHS to drop their case against him. They've told DHS that Yousef is *not* "a danger to the security of the United States" as DHS stated as one reason for denying his application for asylum.
--Shin Bet and Yousef's former handler have corroborated that he only *posed* as a Hamas member.
--Yousef received a letter of commendation from the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
--Yousef was recently honored at a dinner on Capitol Hill with the likes of Iranian-American pro-democracy activist Amil Imani.
DHS is the only one confusing an anti-terrorist hero with a terror threat!
Another good point:
This quotation is from the concise, spot on WSJ article of June 12. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703561604575282412942302170.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
"Mr. Yousef is a native of the West Bank, which is where he would presumably return if he is deported and where Hamas would immediately seek to kill him. Under the Convention Against Torture, the U.S. has an international treaty obligation not to return people to countries where their lives would be at risk. That concern stopped the return to China of the Uighers at Guantanamo, and rightly so. It would dishonor the U.S. to deport a convert in the war on terror because our immigration bureaucracy is too obtuse to make even life and death distinctions."
Former CIA director James Woolsey told reporters at the dinner honoring Yousef, et al., that "the [DHS/ICE] decision to deny him political refugee status was incredibly idiotic." “It’s hard to think of a worse immigration decision in history. It’s fundamentally nuts.”

Deportation of the anti-terrorist Mr.Yousef doesn't surprise me. I hope and pray it doesn't happen. The thugs (Crime Inc. I've heard them called)in the White House I hope wind up in the bottom of the pit they're digging for the rest of us. I have heard that incumbents that are running for re-election are removing from their name on the ballot the fact they are incumbents. I hope people know who the incumbents in their state are so they can be voted out in November.

Yeah, it is more. A lot more. According to comments of La Raza, it is close to 30, again, 30 Million! They may be expanding that, in hope, but if it is close, it is terrifying! And the US is pushing to deport this Mossad agent? It is a death sentence!
Every point of his testimony has been substantiated and verified. So, there must be, is, another reason. One which supports Hamas, et al. Hmmm? Time for a Presidential Pardon, if for no other reason, to deflect the concept that our POTUS is an Islam mole. Kim (love that name), thanks for the infor and tips, will get right after it!
