Vigilante Law
· Tuesday, August 10, 2010
SAN DIEGO -- A nation that does not see in law a right to life for its unborn children and a court that allows more than 50 million of them to be killed claiming a nonexistent "penumbra" in the Constitution is not about to acquire a moral -- much less a constitutional -- backbone when it comes to same-sex "marriage."
The decision by a single, openly gay federal judge to strike down the will of 7 million Californians, tradition dating back millennia (not to mention biblical commands, which the judge decided, in his capacity as a false god, to also invalidate) is judicial vigilantism equal to Roe vs. Wade.
As this case proceeds through appeals courts, to think another federal judge, one Justice Anthony Kennedy, could be the deciding vote on a divided Supreme Court, recalls the power Julius Caesar had over gladiators in the Roman Coliseum. Their fate was ultimately determined when the emperor turned his thumb up or down. At least Caesar, on occasion, was responsive to public opinion. Today, too many federal judges act more like dictators when it comes to the law.
Most great powers unravel from within before invading armies (or in America's case, terrorists) conquer them. A preacher might develop a good sermon on how nations fare when they mock God.
No less a theological thinker than Abraham Lincoln concluded that our Civil War might have been God's judgment for America's toleration of slavery. If that were so, why should "the Almighty," as Lincoln frequently referred to God, stay His hand in the face of our celebration of same-sex marriage?
There is more than one way to experience bankruptcy. America under the Obama administration is on the verge of economic insolvency, and now Judge Vaughn Walker has joined a conga line of similarly activist judges who are accelerating us down the path to destruction.
We have been spiraling downward for some time, beginning in the '50s with the Playboy philosophy that gave men permission to avoid the bonds of marriage if they wanted to have sex. In rapid succession came the birth control pill (sex without biological consequences), "no-fault divorce" (nullifying "until death us do part"), cohabitation, easily available pornography, and a tolerance for just about anything except those who deem something intolerable. Such persons are now labeled "bigots" when once they were thought to be pillars of society.
A nation that loses its moral sense is a nation without any sense at all. Muslim fanatics who wish to destroy us are correct in their diagnosis of our moral rot: loss of a fear of God, immodesty, especially among women, materialism and much more. While their solution -- Sharia law -- is wrong, they are not wrong about what ails us.
Former Attorney General Edwin Meese tells me, "There was absolutely no knowledge, rumor or suspicion" of Vaughn Walker being a homosexual at the time of his nomination by Ronald Reagan. But if it had not been Walker, it would have been another judge, because America's problem is not entirely at the top; rather it is mostly at the bottom. What we tolerate, we get more of, and we have been tolerating a lot since the Age of Aquarius generation began the systematic destruction of what past generations believed they had sacrificed, fought and died to protect.
None of this should surprise anyone who takes the time to read and understand what happens to people and nations that disregard God. A Google search provides numerous examples for the biblically illiterate. Two in particular stand out: "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint," which is paraphrased in The Living Bible, "When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild." (Proverbs 29:18); and "In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit." (Judges 21:25)

From what I have read and heard of the case taken before this "judge", the plaintiffs (sic) presented a weak case believing "right" or "common sense" would prevail. Wrong. With the gay/liberal movement nothing should be taken for granted. Those who oppose such liberal thought must bring every weapon to the table.
I'd read an article, the name I can't recall, refering to the Roman Empire and the fact that groups "out of the norm" were allowed their own representation in governing. A poor example indeed. Rome was great as long as it was responsible. WE know, or those who know history, what happened to the Roman Empire.

For years, I've been saying the same thing - we've gotten so far away from God's law that people have forgotten that same sex relationships are wrong. So much so, that if you state that to people they look at you like you're the one who's wrong.
As if a same sex relationship isn't bad enough, nowadays their big deal is marriage and they believe they're entitled to the same benefits as heterosexual marriages.
They march in the streets, they parade their sinful lifestyles on tv, they flaunt it in our faces and it's become so commonplace that we're now the old close-minded bigots instead of pillars of society.
I know we're supposed to obey 'mans law' but what happens when that law is in direct opposition to biblical law and is so very wrong? I say stick to the Bible, man's law be damned.

Let the gays marry. They cannot procreate. Perhaps we can marry them into extinction.

Walker's conflict of interest ruling is a crime second only to his vivisection of our constitution. The fact that he isn't prosecuted for either by those sworn to uphold and implement the law of the land proves that it is now every man for himself.

Looks like we need a reminder that here in the U.S.A. we don't operate according to god's law, we operate according to the Constitution. The judges decision may be debatable on legal grounds, but it's not open for debate on religious grounds.
Before you can label any behavior as wrong, you must conclude that it's a choice made by the individual. Do any heterosexuals here think you made a choice to be that way? I can no more imagine myself choosing to be gay than I can imagine myself choosing to be blue. It just ain't going to happen. I think if heterosexuals would think about that question honestly most would agree it was not a matter of choice for them either. I suspect gays will tell you the same thing: It's just the way they are. If it's not a choice of the individual, it can't be used as an excuse to punish people, or frankly to deny them the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.
There was a time in this country where many of the same arguments currently being made about gay marriage were made about inter-racial marriage. It's against god's will! It will destroy marriage in this country! Fortunately, in Loving v. Virginia the Supreme Court overturned laws prohibiting inter-racial marriage and we took another small step towards freedom and liberty for all.
As the Republicans continue to exercise their autocratic tendencies regarding personal behavior, and the Democrats drift from socialism to something worse, I'm left wondering where is the true party of freedom and liberty in this country?

I do not believe I made a choice to be heterosexual. It was natural, born to the species. Does a murderer chose to be, or is one predisposed? Procreation is the natural order. To join with the opposite sex and extend the blood line. How can homosexuals not choose to be such? Is being homosexual natures way? Is it God's way? I have seperated religion and nature above. I may have male and or female friends, but to procreate as nature and or God intended I must have a member of the opposite sex. We can procreate without being married. With out the sanctity of marriage we would have cities filled with misguided youths, with no family to provide the moral boundaries we need to grow responsibly.
I believe so much of the "gay communities" in your face attitude is I can do this and there is nothing you can do about it. Now marriage is in their sights. Selfish pleasure. While there may be nothing illegal about a person being "gay", does that make it right?

How about we draw a distinction between marriage as defined by the state and the insurance companies, and matrimony, or holy matrimony, as defined by the church? Let them be married in law, so as to take advantage of the family health plans and what not, but let the churches define who will be considered bound by holy matrimony.

@Brian - I agree with the approach you outline. From the government's perspective it should be a special form of contract between two people. People can choose to have their unions sanctified in the church of their choice, which should be separate from what the government does.
@Charlie - It's very hard to put myself in the shoes of a gay person, but I don't think it's a choice for them. I've known a few in my life, and they all agree with that. To make that choice, especially in years past, they would be making a choice that subjects them to persecution, discrimination, and in many cases being forced to live on the fringes of society. I don't think people would make a deliberate choice to live that way given the consequences to their lives.
For all of recorded history a small percentage of humans have been physically attracted to members of their own sex. Does that make them unnatural? What about people born with physical deformities? Are they unnatural as well? Not part of "god's plan?"
You know, in some American indian societies they called gays "two spirit people," and believed that they represented something special because they embodied elements of both the male and female spirit in one body. They often became healers and medicine men because of the unique perspective they were thought to have as a result. This highlights that this has been something that is a part of the human condition for a long time, and also that other societies have found other ways of thinking about this small minority of our population.
