No Mosque

· Thursday, August 5, 2010

WASHINGTON -- There is an awful lot of blowzy thought swirling around the proposed mosque to be raised two blocks from ground zero in lower Manhattan. Frankly, I doubt that at any other time in our history such a debate would be taking place. People would know that when thugs intoning "Allahu akbar" have slaughtered hundreds of innocent Americans on American soil, it is inappropriate to raise a mosque nearby. The majority of Americans alive today know this. Polling indicates that with them, it is a nonstarter. Now the Anti-Defamation League's national director, Abraham H. Foxman, has weighed in on the side of good sense. One hopes this debate is coming to an end.

In the current issue of The American Spectator, Angelo M. Codevilla posits two Americas. The first is the "ruling class": "Today's ruling class," he writes, "from Boston to San Diego, was formed by an educational system that exposed them to the same ideas and gave them remarkably uniform guidance, as well as tastes and habits. ... Many began their careers in government and leveraged their way into the private sector. ... Hence whether formally in government, out of it, or halfway, America's ruling class speaks the language and has the tastes, habits, and tools of bureaucrats. It rules uneasily over the majority of Americans not oriented to government." The majority of Americans are in the "country class."

The country class, or the "Country Party," has come down against the mosque, and it goes far beyond New Yorkers. It embraces Americans from all over. They oppose the mosque, and their opposition is growing. On the other side, the ruling class' spokesman is, not surprisingly, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York, though he could be from Chicago or Boston or Washington, D.C. Apropos of the mosque, he says: "What is great about America -- and particularly New York -- is we welcome everybody, and if we are so afraid of something like this, what does that say about us?" First of all, we do not welcome everybody, not drugs lords, not Nazis, not Islamofascists. Secondly, we are not "so afraid of something like this." Rather, we recognize it as an affront to the fallen and to the nation. Ad arguendo, the affront might not be intended by those wishing to put up the mosque, but it will be recognized by others throughout the world as an affront. Possibly it will be recognized as a sign of the triumph of Islam over nonbelievers. It ought not to go up.

The latest to join with the country class is Abe Foxman. He has done so at great cost to himself. He has members of the ruling class all around him. Yet even he has been guilty of blowzy thought. He says that "survivors of the Holocaust are entitled to feelings that are irrational." Likewise, the families that lost loved ones on Sept. 11 are entitled to feelings that are irrational, he claims. "Their anguish entitles them," Foxman says, "to positions that others would categorize as irrational or bigoted." Thus, because they object, Foxman would build the mosque "a mile away."

There is nothing irrational or bigoted about thinking that a mosque does not belong at ground zero or at the Pentagon or on the Pennsylvania countryside where United Flight 93 crashed. Americans traditionally raise on such sites monuments to freedom, to courage, to the sacrifices of those lost. Now the ruling class wants to place a mosque at the site of Sept. 11. It is the only time I can recall the ruling class's ever being in favor of placing a religious manifestation anywhere. Yet in favoring this mosque, the ruling class does put itself squarely in opposition to the country class, so it does have a logic to it.

Will the ruling class have its way? I have my doubts. The country class is getting stronger. It is not opposed to the building of mosques, just not on the sites where so many brave Americans were killed by people who hated them because they were American. The country class will decide the monuments for the brave. The ruling class can eat cake.

I, for one, have an objection to a mosque being built anywhere on our soil simply because they are the hornets nests of a cult which has, as one of it's main goals, the total destruction of our country. I believe that Islam has realized that if they cannot vanquish the world by terror (which, btw, they have not given up on), they will do so by an insidious insertion of Muslim culture/Shariah into the cultures of non-Muslim countries. It is already happening in other countries and it is happening through their mosques. We must prevent that from happening in America by whatever means we can.

I sincerely desire a reform of America to see the error that stems from so many evils, beginning first with the supplanting of a strong value for the reward of children with a love of material things that exclude an abundance of progeny. What is it, sir and madam, that provided you the character and integrity that you possess? Was it the abundance of things that your parents supplied? No indeed! It was the lack of things and the abundance of discipline and godly instruction provided through your parents by the grace of an Almighty God, OR, lacking godly parents, the marvelous grace and mercy of Almighty God rescued you from the abyss of error! Either way, possessions are not the reward, but godly offspring and an enduring legacy of godliness are.

American culture will not die because of a mosque. American culture will die because every other culture in the world values offspring (and LOTS of them) who think and believe as they do! I challenge you to think of any way that could possibly convert so many evil-thinkers to Christianity when our culture is being outnumbered 4 to 1! Save for the grace of Almighty God, who has given the command to "be fruitful and multiply", we will lose our culture from lack of like-minded progeny, a failure to value what our God values!

Have children, LOTS of them, AND train them up in the way they should go! Parents, it is YOUR most important responsibility. Not a parent yet, then encourage and invest in those families around you in the training of their children. It is our FOREMOST responsibility to our future generations lest there be no future liberty for them!

Great article. Good comments.

But the issue is not whether the country class gathers or not. And it is not whether the idolatry of materialism leads people to propogate that much less.

The issue is murder on a scale unmatched.

Our demise is assured in the blind and unspoken worship of Moloch.

Today we will assent to the life long tenure on the bench of the Supreme Court of one who fought and lied for the continuation of Partial Birth Murder.

The 6 o'clock news will spew some insipid junk about the burning issues of the day that arose in the process.

Are you white? I want to shake you and shake myself and shout, "Why have we allowed 50 million innocents to be slaughtered?"

Are you Black? I want to tell you that I'm appalled that you let yourself be so easily distracted by the White Liberal racists and their BLACK BLACK handmaidens. Oh my, you've been offended again!

Why is 20 million dead black babies a much bigger number than 30 million white dead babies? Because if there are 10 times the number of whites that means that in proportion to your numbers twenty black babies die for every three white ones.

What is the proportionate number of Planned Parenthood Clinics in your communities as compared to those in the White communities? And how dare you NOT know the answer to that question as you stand side by side with the Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson pro-abortin Handmaidens and their communist White Liberal pro-abortion handlers while you are all together, one-two-three, protesting "Racism?"

Have you noticed when the ruling class wants to make someone feel bad about thier position, they say we in the country class are "afraid". Phobia this and Phobia that. We in the county class are not afraid. The ruling class is afraid of us. Bloomberg is trying to shut off debate by accusing us of fear. Just a little projection by the mayor of New York.

As part of the 'country class' here in Michigan, Mr. Bloomberg can take his thoughts and stick it. He is being about as small minded and stupid as one can be - not only history, but current events show what the radical Islamists plan on doing.

"A tree is known by its fruit." Who rubs salt in the wound of a friend and brother? If Islam is so peaceful, despite its direct teachings to murder 'infidels', then why is it so important to build this mosque in the one place that offends so many? Only blind fools will embrace this mosque as a peaceful demonstration of religious freedom. This is not a building for the meeting of a peaceful religion, but a monument to the destruction caused by violent criminals in the name of an openly violent religion.

Have other religions had fanatics commit wrong acts in the name of religion? Yes. But it was because they were lunatics, not following the teachings of that religion. If you follow the strict teaching of Christianity or Judaism, it would not promote murder and war. Follow the tenets of Islam, and you are commanded to lie, cheat, steal, and murder in the name of Allah.

Should this mosque be built at Ground Zero, it is a signal of the final death of common sense and civility in our once-great country. Shameful leaders following a shamefully deceitful track. These trees are known by their fruit.

If they build the Mosque at Ground Zero I plan to graffite a likeness of Mohammad on the Mosque. I guarantee it won't be flattering.

If Mayor Bloomberg is really interested in demonstrating "inclusiveness"he will support petitions to rename the streets closest to the proposed mosque "Charles Martel Avenue" and "El Cid Street." It would only be fair.

If that abomination is built, I would urge every New Yorker who must walk by it to wear a sleeveless white smock with a large red cross on it to let it be known that they will not submit to this blasphemous religion that murders people in the name of "Allah the Merciful and Compassionate." It will be amusing to hear the paranoid ravings about "crusaders" this will engender the bin Laden types.

Shawn (NC),is exactly correct! The selection of that site is part of the planning, the gathering of intelligence by the enemies of this Republic! That was the mission of the "shoe bomber," the "panty bomber," and the fool in NY Times Square. None, not one, of those efforts could detonate! The purpose was to gather intelligence, spread disinformation--all to advance the capabilities and planning of those who have sworn to convert, or kill, the USA.

That mosque, and for that matter, every other mosque in this Republic, should be relocated. To some muslim land. "A strength carried to extreme becomes a weakness." One strength of the USA is 'equality'--and we are weakened by exerting that concept in every instance, without consideration. Enlisting, and commissioning, of Muslims into the military has led to several deaths, military and civilian. Equality, and equal treatment demand the meaning of that word. Equal, same for all. We do not demand the end of those who worship as muslims. People were concerned, and voiced those concerns, when John F Kennedy was standing for President; "The US will be dominated by Rome---Kennedy is a Catholic, you know."

The concerns were unfounded. The concerns of today, with a President who leans strongly toward concepts that are antipathy to this Republic, has showm remarkable modesty towards those that would kill us, and appoinst people to support him who are also extreme in comments and actons, should give us all great pause!

All are encouraged to add a voice to the dissent, and object to this "muslim intelligence center" anywhere on US soil! That is what it is, there is nothing---nothing, religious about it! It is a victory shrine for Jihadists!~

Last night on Fox News, Dennis Miller proposed that Mayor Bloomberg and his city council may have other reasons to unanimously approve the building of the mosque besides typical thoughtless liberal ideology. Mr. Miller stated that Bloomberg and company may actually be personally afraid of the consequences of denying the Islamists permission to build their victory mosque, a mosque similar in intent to the ones built by Islamists throughout history on the sites where their conquered enemies worshipped their own religions.

Critics of the Ground Zero mosque, according to Mr. Miller, aren't interested in blowing up Mayor Bloomberg. However, Mayor Bloomberg knows that the Islamists, who are known terrorist supporters and sympathizers, have no such restraint. It is perfectly possible that the city fathers of New York are afraid of being killed by people who they know are very capable of doing so. They rubber-stamped approval to literally save their own skins.

This likely situation provides even more reason for not having a Ground Zero mosque. We do not need a victory mosque in our country, and we certainly cannot accept radical Islam - they simply won't melt into our society and become part of America as liberty-loving Americans. They would vastly prefer the we bow to their idea of what society should look like, and thus complete the job that the 9/11 terrorists started out to achieve.

I could foresee a patriot flying a plane right into this mosque, if ever built. I'd object the mosque being built anywhere on U.S. soil. How many more do we allow before they overpopulate us and take over cities first, counties next? Of course, if you have a Muslim president, he would have another place to worship and listen to the hatred.

When does an organized "religion", such as Islam, foresake it's right to free expression in America? Perhaps it might be when adherents of the "faith" openly call for the destruction of the laws that protect the very God given privileges that they claim to have. hh, but thats free speech. Perhaps then it is when "followers" take up arms and kill American infidels who dare question the obvious religious intolerance exhibited by radical Islam. Or is that also protected "expression".

There must come some point at which a demonstrably violent and intolerant group is no longer allowed to use the shield of "religious freedom".

We have been warned. The Islamic radicals around the world have declared their intention to destroy us. Naive "peacemakers" in the West have repeatedly proclaimed that Islam is a religion of peace, that has been hijacked by a few radicals. Meanwhile - there is silence from "mainstream" of Islam. There is no repudiation of the radicals by the Islamic faithful. It is only the wishful thinking of western fools that declare Islam to be a religion of peace and tolerance. It has proven itself to be what the so-called "Radicals" have made it-- and there are few if any dissenting Muslim voices,,, only a few brave ones trying to wake us up to the very real threat that is descending upon all religions of tolerance around the world. Are you ready to simply turn the other cheek?

Did you catch the article in Der Spiegel at:

A Reality Show's Search for a Muslim Role Model

Page 2

"Muslims must submit to the religious police and the Sharia courts."

"Islam is more than just a religion," explains juror Hafiz. "There are rules for every part of life, for the community, for the economy." Hafiz, a man with fine features, a fatherly smile and a goatee, is very sure of himself. He exudes calm in his movements, as if Allah were with him.

"Religion without politics; that's like an airplane without wings," he says, laughing.

His jokes sound like threats.

...

His jokes ARE threats. Anyone who believes this building is going to be a "community center" is delusional.

I reject entirely that there is a ruling class that started in government and leveraged themselves into the private sector. This is a preposterous picture of a country that has upward and downward mobility of a kind not seen since Rome and to a greater degree even than Rome. No political state has ever been as classless as America. To posit two and only two classes is the dumbest argument I've seen in these pages. I'm surprised it was even published. Usually these pages are reasonable and accurate.

All the same, I agree with Foxman. The mosque should not be built at ground zero because to the bombers this will definitely be seen as a triumph. It will encourage them to redouble their efforts.
