Tea Party Maligned

· Tuesday, April 13, 2010

There are only a few things that make me truly angry.

Lies about the innocent are chief among them.

The decent, hard-working, freedom-loving Americans who dare to raise their voices in protest against injustice are my heroes. And it makes me nauseas when they are maligned by those who seek to control them – the very ones whose policies they are protesting.

No one likes a spoiled brat. The national leaders who just rammed socialist health care mandates down our throats and many of their compatriots in the liberal media have revealed their selfish, bratty, bully, true selves as they have unloaded a barrage of attacks on the courageous tea party activists around the nation.

The socialist policies being forced on America are deplorable to most Americans. The liberals in leadership, just like spoiled bullies, want this, they want that - and they want it all right now - oh, and according to their specific dictates. They are the big bullies who rule the block, and they will not be challenged by small town Americans who try to thwart their plans.

This rotten phenomenon is bankrupting our country, and teaching our own children that somebody else is entitled to their lunch money; that the big guys in Washington actually have a right to run their lives; that there is some sort of perverted "social justice" that demands everyone be taken care, without regard to who will pay. But the real sick joke is on those same children: it is our sons and daughters that will have to pay for all of the "stuff."

If we sit by and do nothing - if we allow this to continue, then ours will be the first generation of Americans led by adults who care more about what they want, than they do about creating a better future for our children. That is despicable.

The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 13:22: "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."

Instead, we have saddled our own kids with massive debt the second they are born. If the current government run health care programs actually get off the ground, our children and grandchildren will likely spend their entire lives wallowing in debt - and stuck in a system of broken promises and compromised quality. Face it: when it comes to securing financial stability for our nation's children, we are a nation of thieves. We should hang our heads in shame. Instead, our leaders slap each other on the back in victorious glee as they slip into their limos and head off in style to plan the next robbery.

So what are tea party activists and other decent Americans to do when they are maligned for standing up for what is right? There's only one answer: Give them more of what they hate. Take to the streets again and again! Fight back. Don't let them rob your sons and daughters of another cent. Refuse to let the bullies intimidate you.

The liberal elite and social engineers are trying to silence the cries of decent, hard-working Americans that have had enough. And they are doing it with good old-fashioned name-calling. It's the oldest, dirtiest, laziest trick in the book: call someone you don't like a racist, a sexist or a hot-head and you've effectively discredited them. The bullies have taken your children's future, and now they want to take your dignity and your voice. But don't let them.

As smart Americans across the land are spending their hard-earned money to hire accountants to fill out stupid, complex tax forms that no one can understand, it's time to take to the streets. As moms and dads are writing out those huge tax checks and sending them off to God-knows-who in Washington to do God-knows-what with, it's time to take to the streets.

Peaceful assembly comprised of very loud and vocal protests have long been successful methods in this country for securing civil rights for the oppressed and downtrodden. Well, our kids are the oppressed. Their future has been trampled. Take to the streets!

And take other people with you. The great tea party phenomenon that is sweeping our nation provides our greatest hope. And the millions who are patriotically protesting must also take their action into the voting booths this fall. So take to the streets, take your friends and neighbors and co workers with you, and then lead them all into those voting booths in November. Let's cram the polls with citizens who will vote to protect our children and the American way.

It's time to organize, to march, to vote them out and whop the bullies once and for all. It's the only way to keep them from robbing our kids blind.

Persecution should be expected when you "take up your cross" in defense of what is good and right. I'm not worried about persecution as undesirable as anyone might find it to be.

The Patriot Declaration is a grand start giving us all a common understanding of how unconstitutional our government has become and specifying ways to correct abuses. (Please forgive the next statement!) I have not read the Founder's petitions to King George to know how to draft one to our own government. There are more detailed items to address to justify further actions.

I paid my taxes this year. It wasn't pretty! It will be worse next year. I don't mind paying for a government that KNOWS and SECURES life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as the Founder's intended those to be interpreted. But, our government is not doing that. I'm sick of government funding Planned "Parenthood" (aka. murderers) with my tax dollars and other socialist agenda!

In the interest of civility...

to allow ample warning for our government to correct grievances...

to ensure there are no misunderstandings when it comes time to dissolve the bonds of the union to secure our constitution...

it is right (even REQUIRED) that we provide written documentation of our grievances.

It is my intent to do as one reader stated and NOT PAY TAXES until such time as the government corrects these abuses. One post recommended increasing our pay deductions to 10. I believe this to be appropriate as the only worthy combat to preserve our culture is to have more Christian constitutional conservative children than "them". But we have nearly lost that campaign by a margin of 5-to-1. And this is only treating a symptom of the problem--trying to work within the "rules" while avoid the true question: "Are the 'rules' even the right rules?" So how do I stop paying for unconstitutional (and unBiblical) government socialism if I've not given proper notice?

The document should be crafted with a clear statement of support to the Constitution lest the leftists assume we are treacherous (which they will do anyway). It should be done with a timeline (or deadline) for government action to correct abuses. It should specify a consequence for government should they ignore the petition. It should be done by someone articulate and respected by a host of constitutional conservatives.

Mr. Alexander, will you help us all?

Just a "heads up" to the various Tea Parties and their friends...

"ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Opponents of the fiscally conservative tea party movement say they plan to infiltrate and dismantle the political group by trying to make its members appear to be racist, homophobic and moronic.

Jason Levin, creator of http://www.crashtheteaparty.org, said Monday the group has 65 leaders in major cities across the country who are trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15—tax filing day, when tea party groups across the country are planning to gather and protest high taxes.

Levin says they want to exaggerate the group's least appealing qualities, further distance the tea party from mainstream America and damage the public's opinion of them.

"Do I think every member of the tea party is a homophobe, racist or a moron? No, absolutely not," Levin said. "Do I think most of them are homophobes, racists or morons? Absolutely."

The site manifesto says they want to dismantle the Tea Party by nonviolent means. "We have already sat quietly in their meetings, and observed their rallies," the site said."

Oh, just a quick question ...

Levin wants to "dismantle the Tea Party by nonviolent means" ... would this be as opposed to something like breaking the leg of Gov. Jindal's campaign finance director, and breaking her boyfriend's jaw?

Just wondering!

A modification of "The Olive Branch Petition" to King George III...

To the Public Servants of the United States of America:

MOST GRACIOUS PUBLIC SERVANTS: We, your faithful supporters of the United States of America, in behalf of ourselves and the inhabitants of these fifty States, who have deputed you to represent them in Federal Government, entreat your gracious attention to this our humble petition.

The union between these States, and the energy of mild and just Government, produce benefits so remarkably important, and afforded such an assurance of their permanency and increase, that the wonder and envy of other nations were excited, while they beheld these United States of America rising to a power the most extra-ordinary the world had ever known.

Her rivals, observing that there was no probability of this happy connection being broken by civil dissensions, and apprehending its future effects if left any longer undisturbed, resolved to prevent her receiving such continual and formidable accessions of wealth and strength, by checking the growth of those States from which they were to be derived by attacking its Citizens through shameful acts of terror.

In the prosecution of this attempt, events so unfavorable to the design took place, that every friend to the interests of the United States of America, entertained pleasing and reasonable expectations of seeing an additional force and exertion immediately given to the operations of the union hitherto experienced, by an enlargement of the dominions of Liberty, and the removal of ancient and warlike enemies to a greater distance.

In anticipation of the conclusion, therefore, of the present war, the most glorious and advantageous that ever had been carried on by American arms, your loyal Citizens having contributed to its success by such repeated and strenuous exertions as frequently procured them the distinguished approbation of the Federal Government, doubted not but that they should be permitted, with the rest of the Citizenry, to share in the blessings of peace, and the emoluments of victory and conquest in Liberty.

While these recent and honorable acknowledgements of their merits remained on record in the Journals and acts of this present Legislature, the Federal Government, undefaced by the imputation or even the suspicion of any offence, they were alarmed by a new system of statutes and regulations adopted for the administration of the States, that filled their minds with the most painful fears and jealousies; and, to their inexpressible astonishment, perceived the danger of a foreign quarrel quickly succeeded by domestic danger, in their judgment of a more dreadful kind.

Nor were these anxieties alleviated by any tendency in this system to promote the welfare of their Citizens. For though its effects were more immediately felt by them, yet its influence appeared to be injurious to the commerce and prosperity of these United States of America.

We shall decline the ungrateful task of describing the irksome variety of artifices practiced by many of the Federal Government, the delusive pretences, fruitless terrors, and unavailing severities, that have, from time to time, been dealt out by them, in their attempts to execute this impolitic plan, or of tracing through a series of years past the progress of the unhappy differences between the Federal Government and these States, that have flowed from this fatal source.

The Federal Government, persevering in their measures, and proceeding to open criminal acts for enforcing them, have compelled us to arm in our own defense, and have engaged us in a controversy so peculiarly abhorrent to the affections of your still faithful Citizens, that when we consider whom we must oppose in this contest, and if it continues, what may be the consequences, our own particular misfortunes are accounted by us only as parts of our distress.

Knowing to what violent resentments and incurable animosities civil discords are apt to exasperate and inflame the contending parties, we think ourselves required by indispensable obligations to Almighty God, to the United States Constitution, to our fellow-citizens, and to ourselves, immediately to use all the means in our power, not incompatible with our safety, for stopping the further advancement of slavery, and for averting the impending calamities that threaten the Constitution of the United States of America and its Citizens.

Thus called upon to address the Federal Government on affairs of such moment to America, we are earnestly desirous of performing this office with the utmost deference for the Federal Government; and we therefore pray, that your magnanimity and benevolence may make the most favorable constructions of our expressions on so uncommon an occasion. Could we represent in their full force the sentiments that agitate the minds of us your dutiful Citizens, we are persuaded you would ascribe any seeming deviation from reverence in our language, and even in our conduct, not to any reprehensible intention, but to the impossibility of reconciling the usual appearance of respect with a just attention to our own preservation against those artful and cruel statutes and proclamations that abuse our confidence in your authority, for the purpose of effecting our destruction.

Attached to your person, family, and the United States Constitution as fellow-citizens, with all devotion that principle and affection can inspire; connected with the United States of America by the strongest ties that can unite societies, and deploring every event that tends in any degree to weaken them, we solemnly assure you, that we not only most ardently desire the former harmony between the Federal Government and these States may be restored, but that a concord may be established between them to reestablish upon that firm Constitutional basis as to perpetuate its blessings, uninterrupted by any future dissensions, to succeeding generations in all States, and to transmit your noble acts to posterity, adorned with that signal and lasting glory that has attended the memory of those illustrious personages, whose virtues and abilities have extricated these States from dangerous convulsions, and by securing the happiness to others, have erected the most noble and durable monuments to their own fame.

We beg further leave to assure you, that notwithstanding the sufferings of your loyal Citizens during the course of this present controversy, our breasts retain too tender a regard for the United States Constitution from which we derive our origin, to request such a reconciliation as might, in any manner, be inconsistent with her dignity or welfare. These, related as we are to her, honor and duty, as well as inclination, induce us to support and advance; and the apprehensions that now oppress our hearts with unspeakable grief, being once removed, you will find us faithful, ready and willing at all times, as we have ever been with our lives and fortunes, to assert and maintain the rights and interests of our fellow-citizens, and of our Country.

We therefore beseech you, that your authority and influence may be graciously interposed to procure us relief from our afflicting fears and jealousies, occasioned by the system before-mentioned, and to settle peace through every part of our States, with all humility submitting to your wise consideration, whether it may not be expedient, for facilitating those important purposes, that you may be pleased to direct some mode, by which the united applications of your faithful Citizens to the Constitution, in pursuance of their common counsels, may be improved into a happy and permanent reconciliation; and that, in the mean time, measures may be taken for preventing the further destruction of the Liberty of your fellow-citizens; and that such statutes as more immediately distress any of these United States may be repealed.

For such arrangements as your wisdom can form for collecting the united sense of your American people, we are convinced you would receive such satisfactory proofs of the disposition of the Citizens towards their Constitution and Federal Government, that the wished for opportunity would soon be restored to them, of evincing the sincerity of their professions, by every testimony of devotion becoming the most dutiful subjects, and the most affectionate Citizens.

That you may enjoy long and prosperous service and that your descendants may enjoy the benefits of honor to themselves and happiness to their fellow-citizens is our sincere prayer.

The Tea Partiers had to know that retaliation was coming. I pray they're prepared for it and I think they are. I think we'll see them come out on top and the 'infiltrators' will appear even smaller minded & more ignorant people than they do now. I don't mean they're stupid, there's a difference. They believe govt will really give them something for nothing, but they're scared the Tea Partiers are right, so they have to 'try' to intimidate them. More tea please!!

I've looked through some of the tea party websites as openmineded as possible. What I have seen has seen the glory of people of no color so maybe that is why the tea party is considered racist. As well as our government and yes I stated our has been a mess for a long time including when the previous president was in office but where were you then.

So before you wonder why some citizens of the United States of America think your homophobic, moronic and racist take a close look at yourselves.

Oh one more thing work on seperating church from state one has nothing to do with the other. If it did then you would remember charity begins at home.

Ree:

I appreciate your attempt to be open-minded. There are relatively few in society these days that would even consider such a challenge. But I disagree with the "no color" comment. White, pink, rosacea, olive...these are all colors. And there are plenty of blacks that are weathering the scorn of the racist black leftists to stand for the first principles of the United States Constitution. I would side with and defend them any day as I respect the right of others to disagree.

There is no excuse for racism of any kind including the kind displayed by the likes of "Rev" Jesse Jackson and others that attack "their own" in the name of political alignment. Prejudice is also when one black man assumes all blacks must be democrats and leftists as if Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi is somehow black by being Democrat. Political alignment is a matter of convictions and convictions are colorless (though they sometimes seem to propagate along particular lines).

As for "separating church from state", it is, in fact, by the influence of churches and Biblical principles that our country stood against the abuses of Great Britain. It is the sermons and writings and correspondence with Protestant ministers that the guiding principles of our nation were crafted. This is not part of our revisionist history of America but it is the plain and simple Truth. No one need fabricate these well documented facts.

And considering charity: FORCED charity is NO charity, though we should all (according to the Bible) be charitable. (But that's bringing church into state. I suppose we should throw that out along with any laws that are Biblically based like “Thou shalt not kill” or “Thou shalt not steal”?)

James Ocker

Well we are being railroaded now at full steam

Time is of the essence, for every moment we linger more obstacles and distraction are thrown our way

The current crew means to divide us, to conquer us to put us in a state of disarray, so that we cannot bring the pressure to bear on them directly.
