Unbelievable! Why are San Franciscans still voting this person in? She seems out of her mind - perhaps at her advanced age, she has had too much Botulinun toxin injected into her face. Can you not vote a sane and rational person in next election?

I saw this in its complete form and it was quite clear she was kidding. This is very poor reporting and you Mike and Ilena are dumb as a box of rocks.

It was taken out of context. That doesn't mean she didn't relish saying it. To step into this realm with your obviously left of center viewpoint you must be prepared to debate.

This is a written speech; every word was carefully considered and thoughtout before being committed to paper. This speech was delivered to a carefully chosen and friendly group.

Of course Nancy meant every word of what she said. She sees this as her big chance to re-write history and make her name of of the greats in American History.

Sadly, however, she will be remembered as one of the architects of our demise should this bill pass - IN ANY FORM.

Worldly, I also have seen it in context. If she was kidding, the gag dropped with a thud. In reality, the Dems have made a big thing of creating this monstrosity in the "dark". So, her comment seems to me to be simply extending the philosophy they have followed in the so-called health care reform from the beginning - keep the details hidden as much as possible and try to ram it through before we, the people, can see what it does to our freedom. But, it is no joke!

I'm sure this is for real. It is just that she thinks we are too stupid to understand the implication of her remarks.

It should be evident to anyone with two brain cells left. That there are no representatives of the American people we can trust at this time. I suggest we have a Contitutuional Convention. replacing the curent system with our State Governements. Our Govenors were originally the Senators. We need to go back to that system. The second amendment is for the purpose of being armed so that we can act. why don't we act? It is time to demand that our Govenors, And I don't mean ten hand picked Govenors by Obama. I mean all of them should call for a Constitutional Convention Now.

The agenda is simple, that we remove this usurper and his czars, reduce the tax burden of the income of people to 5%, reestablish the original import tarrifs on all foriegn goods. abolish and disolve any Corporation that manufactures goods over seas, and not here in the u.S. Johnmichael, I am sure you mean well in your comment on calling a "Constitutional Convention", but I remind you the "Vultures" are circling.

The erroneous "correction" of the Beloved Founders with the passage of the 17th Amendment to the Constitution, calling for a "popular vote for Senators" was a disastrous mistake.(The Founders didn't make the mistake, it was others that added this amendment). The Governors were not the Senators under the Founders, the State Legislatures appointed two Senators to the Federal Congress, the way I understand it, They may have been former Governors, but they didn't have to have that qualification to be sent to the Senate by the State Legislature. Of course, the Senate was for the representation of the State governments in the Congress, a wonderful provision of the Beloved Founders, who loved their people. This needs "repealed", but do it in the "deliberating, slow process" as prescribed in the Constitution.

O, you say, we don't have "time". Sorry, this not the "time" to amend the Beloved Constitution. We "hold fast" to that Document, we know that the problems are in the "amendments" not the original document.

Because someone I know posted this link in Facebook, I decided to have an OPEN MIND and come read it. After reading the comments, it would seem that very few people that read this website are capable of an open mind, including the editor. It must be nice to have enough money that you don't have to decide if you are going to buy medications or pay rent/mortgage.

It must be nice to get more than $685/mo in disability income with $600/mo rent, plus electric (necessary in Phoenix, AZ summers) must have food, because diabetics are supposed to eat at least 3x daily. Before disability, and before I met my (now late) husband, he worked two jobs, was self employed and worked 14 - 18 hrs per day in those two jobs, but couldn't afford insurance. Without Insurance, he couldn't afford the doctor visits to get the prescriptions to control his diabetes, therefore he couldn’t afford the prescriptions, the test strips, the meter, to make sure that it was controlled. He suffered for the last 6 years of his life, I could only do so much those last 6 years, the years I knew him.

In 2000 his kidneys failed, putting him instantly on Medicare. He started getting medical care at that time, but the damage was done. He had diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, partial paralysis of his upper GI tract (causing dry heaves lasting for HOURS at a time) End-stage renal disease (Kidney failure), enlarged liver/hepatitis, to name a few of the issues the untreated diabetes caused. Then 2001, he had a stroke. I had just started a new job, so no FMLA was available; I had to quit work to take care of him, so we existed on his $685/mo disability check, plus a whopping $75/mo food stamps for us and my young son. If not for my mother sending us money, we couldn’t have survived. Funny how NO ONE tells a family that there’s state programs like Long Term Care assistance, so the spouse doesn’t have to quit work to be home 24/7 with a stroke victim. A year after his stroke, he died at age 47, we each had a child that lived thru everything revolving around Dad. They were 11 and 12 when he died on 2/24/2002.He was born in Phoenix, as a 4th+ generation Arizonan, lived here his whole life, married and died here.

Funny thing is, he kind of liked McCain. The same senator that now won’t reply to my two letters, one hand delivered to his satellite office in Tempe, AZ. Maybe next time I write to McCain, I’ll send him some of Johnny’s cremains. It might get a response then. McCain’t had the gall to say that all Arizonans are against reform, but he’s only listening to the Tea Party and ignoring anyone that isn’t registered Republican.

So, walk a mile in his shoes, with his diabetic neuropathy, cataracts, and dialysis, then tell me you still don’t want some reforms to the health care industry that was too expensive that it cost him his life.

The Pelosi fiasco is just that> If San Francisco wants her let them elect her as Mayor for Life. Then they willl know what the rest of the country has to put up with.

Also, I think Obama has degraded the US Presidency with his antics and awful partisan nonsense in the remarks about the Supreme Court's recent decision at the so called state of the union. He probably should not see the Supreme Court attend any more political campaign shows that are designed to show off political partisanship points of view. Who needs a state of the union address anyway? Eliminate them. They only serve the political interests of the President in power. Why should the minority party even show up. Obama and Pelosi are a disgrace .

It does not matter much if Pelosi was joking or not. Indirectly, she told the truth in this instance and the truth is this: the Democrat members of Congress who promote the passage of this bill have not read the bill they are going to vote on!!! They want to see it passsed because it is ideologically correct to do so and it would help them leap forward towards an "european style social-democracy" type of society.

Speaking of jokes, how about this joke: "let's not vote on this bill so that we don't have to read it!"

We, the voters, are responsible for this kind of inept leadership! We all need to pull our heads out and pay attention. Positive change that stops the downward slide is up to us the little people that are not being represented as we should. The representation we currently have does not experience what we do on a daily basis. We need reform and laws for them to realize what REAL life is all about. They need to pay our type of bills, like gas, insurance, social security.....
