Patriots, ‘Our Cause is Noble’
On this date a year ago, I wrote you with good news: “Millions of Americans, who have previously taken Liberty for granted, are awakening to the reality that they must join our ranks in order to extend our legacy of Liberty to the next generation.”
As we approach the end of 2010, the prospects for restoring the Liberty enshrined in our Constitution are much improved. In November, conservatives gained substantial ground toward reinstating Rule of Law, but we have more battles to win.
Of the original Patriots’ fight for Liberty, George Washington wrote, “Our cause is noble; it is the cause of mankind!” Indeed, it remains our noble cause today.
As the “Voice of Essential Liberty,” The Patriot Post is now a primary touchstone for the rapidly growing ranks of grassroots conservatives, and our mission is more vital now than ever. It will, at best, take several election cycles to re-establish the primacy of First Principles and Rule of Law, and to reset our course toward Liberty. So we remain steadfast in our mission and continue the charge in earnest.
We need your help to maintain the momentum of our mission and charge.
In order to meet our financial obligations this year, we still must raise approximately $128,000 in order to meet our budget. Please support The Patriot Post’s 2010 Year-End Campaign online today. If you prefer to support us by mail, please use our printable donor form or print the donor information listed below.
Of those who would not rise and fight for Liberty, Samuel Adams said, “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
As our Founding Patriots understood at the dawn of our nation, an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men, will prevail.
Like you, we have never wavered in our effort to set brushfires of Liberty across our great nation, and our resolve to see Liberty restored remains unbendable.
As you know, our humble enterprise is not sustained by any political, special interest or parent organization. We accept no online or e-mail advertising. Our operations and mission are funded by – and depend entirely upon – the voluntary financial support of American Patriots like you.
Though our operations budget is a small fraction of what it costs other influential organizations to advance their message, providing the nation’s leading journal of Liberty to countless legions of grassroots conservatives is not free.
We employ the services of 25 highly dedicated writers and editors, a formidable research and analysis team, and essential management and technical staff. Internet publishing requires sophisticated hardware, custom software, installations and offices, and the like. We also have substantial legal, accounting and insurance costs.
Despite these considerable expenses, I’m proud to say that we publish The Patriot Post for less than one dollar per reader per year – much less when one considers that our readers forward our publications to many thousands of others, and repost our content on blogs, social networking sites and personal websites. Intrepid high school, college and university professors use our content to teach their students, and state political and cultural organizations reprint out content for their members.
Notably, members of the U.S. Congress and state legislatures around the nation circulate our content to their colleagues.
In other words, we are very good stewards of every dollar you send to support our mission.
There are only 16 days left to meet our budget commitments. We know, by virtue of your patronage, that you are standing with us on many frontlines in honor and defense of our nation’s proud heritage of Liberty. If you have not done so already, please join us by supporting The Patriot Post’s 2010 Year-End Campaign.
“Remember,” as George Washington exclaimed, “you are Freemen, fighting for the blessings of liberty – that slavery will be your portion, and that of your posterity, if you do not acquit yourselves like men.”
I thank you for the honor and privilege of serving you as editor and publisher of The Patriot Post. On behalf of our staff and National Advisory Committee, thank you and God bless you and your family this Christmas season.
“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” –Thomas Paine
