Occupy Oakland Burns U.S. Flag

Occupy Oakland lit up this weekend -- literally. Following a vicious day that included robberies, demolishing fences, rioting, and was highlighted by burning an American flag, over 400 occupiers were arrested on Saturday night.

But OWS, protesting "income inequality" and "corporate greed," would never shamefully and purposely dishonor America, right?

Not so fast.

Apparently having not yet proved how anti-America they are, Occupy Oakland took the "protests" to a whole new level: They recorded a video during Saturday's ruckus displaying the burning of an American flag along with their version of The Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to a flag of the imperialistic, capitalistic dictatorship.
And to the plutocracy for which it stands, depravity owned central bank, under the Jews.
With inequality and injustice for the 99.

This is something one's more accustomed to seeing in the Middle East -- not the middle of America.

For the record, these are the very same people that some of our elected leaders have, in a roundabout way, supported:

"In some ways, [Occupy Wall Street protests are] not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party. Both on the left and the right, I think people feel separated from their government. They feel that their institutions aren't looking out for them." --Barack Obama

"I think that if you look at the Occupy Wall Street folks and the Tea Party folks, they come from the same perspective. They just have different solutions. What they're saying is, 'government is not working for me anymore.'" --New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie

"The message of the protesters is a message for the establishment everyplace. No longer will the recklessness of some on Wall Street cause massive joblessness on Main Street. ... God bless them for their spontaneity. It's independent ... it's young, it's spontaneous, it's focused. And it's going to be effective." --House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi

Question: When was the last time you ever saw the Tea Party burn an American flag?

Let's also not forget the media's love affair with OWS:

His family was on food stamps for a while. He earned what he has in life, and I think he appreciates it." --Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson

It's one thing to make your voice heard -- after all, that's what America represents: Liberty. But intentionally dishonoring and disrespecting what America represents takes despicable to a whole new level. Trampling on liberty digs down to the very core of their belief: that liberty is a one-way street -- "My way or the highway" -- and we should get what we're "entitled" to.

Funny, San Fran Nan distanced herself from her OWS constituents so quickly of late. I wonder why? Ha ha

99% of the OWS protesters voted democrat, would have, or their parents did.

How that for a correlation?

Great quote to open with. The quotes from those current politicians must be annoying as they attempt to distance themselves from ever supporting the "message" of this group. The only accomplishment with this anarchism is less police presence in areas of one of the most violent cities in our nation. California must be so proud. SHAMEFUL

The Flag burning. That is who these spoiled brats are. The weather has been pretty good in California this winter. Just wait for this summer . These a..holes are really going to run up a tab all over this country. A tab we who work and pay taxes will all be paying for by the way. I've had it with them. I'd like to say what we should do to them but I don't want to disturb any overactive sensibilities.

After the UC Davis pepper spray incident i had opportunity to interact with quite a few OWS folks. Most were kids, but some were not.

Among those kids was, for example, a guy from the Czech Republic pushing "stateless communism." Another was pushing voluntaryism--the idea that ALL government is immoral because it uses force to en-force laws--ie that laws should be voluntary.

Most of what I heard was anarchy, anarcho capitalism, etc.

Guess who else preaches that same thing? Ron Paul.

Well this whole OWS thing just proves how weak we are becoming. Their is Liberals making bogus claims that conservatives are unintelligent or heartless. All libs seem to want is for everyone to not have to work for anything and think that it's our governments responsibility to provide them with what they want or need, for the people of OWS they just don't want to earn a living like REAL AMERICANS. They say they are the 99 percent but yet unemployment in the US is around 10 percent. Liberals are just arrogant and believe their the Elite of our country. We who WORK for a living are the ones who are hurting when these ignorant communists of OWS vandalize property and burn the symbol of our country that so many people have devoted or lost their lives to protect. Why aren't people who desecrate our country kicked out? Anyways I'll end this with a god bless to all of you who work to earn your living and my hat is off to you.

This is too funny! Is this the same "one-percenter" Obama that went to a private school in Hawaii and then off to Columbia and Harvard? Curious as to how he "earned" those things. Must have been due to all the hard work, scrimping and saving. Imagine how difficult it must have been to be a full-time student and work to put yourself through undergraduate and grad school. Impressive!

I am not bragging when I say that I worked my way through grad school while raising a family and holding down a full time job as the only breadwinner, all without complaint and a sense of entitlement. At the time I thought this was a relatively ordinary accomplishment, but today it seems oddly old fashioned in light of "The world owes me a living" philosophy that is so prevalent today.
