Obama’s Immigration Lie
‘We’re also a nation of laws.”
Barack Obama was heckled during a speech about immigration Monday, but his response was as laughable as it was surprising. “Please use your executive order to halt deportations for all 11.5 million undocumented immigrants in this country right now,” the heckler shouted. Of course, in 2011, Obama did issue an executive order stopping the deportation of millions of illegals. But that didn’t stop him from rewriting history and denying his own proclivities in his response to the heckler: “If, in fact, I could solve all these problems without passing this through Congress, then I would do so. But we’re also a nation of laws. That’s part of our tradition.” For Obama to claim that he cares about Rule of Law is as untrue as it is insulting to our intelligence. He has done nothing of the sort since his election, and we expect nothing different going forward.
