Sheriff Warns Feds to Leave Armed Citizens Alone
Mike Lewis is the sheriff of Wicomico County, Maryland, and he’s the kind of law enforcement official this nation needs more of. He tells News 21 that, yes, criminals must be prevented from obtaining weapons, but he made one thing very clear: “[W]e do not need to strip law abiding citizens of their Second Amendment right to bear arms. That I get upset over. I really do.” He continued, “As the sheriff of Wicomico County, I made a vow and a commitment that, as long as I am sheriff of this county, I will not allow the federal government to come in here and strip my citizens of the right to bear arms. I can tell you this: If they attempt to do that, it will be an all-out civil war. No question about it.” Unlike some, Mr. Lewis understands that Rule of Law supersedes any political ambitions. And for that, we thank him.
