George W. Bush Polling Higher Than Obama
It’s a damning opinion poll for the administration that has spent years blaming George W. Bush for the nation’s ills. The newest CNN/ORC poll found that Americans think just about as highly of Barack Obama as Bush. The poll found that 49% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Obama while 52% have favorable opinions of Bush. The poll has a margin of error +/- 3%. The poll’s respondents were mostly concerned about the economy (not exactly a bright spot on Obama’s résumé). However, they were also disapproving of Obama’s handling of the Islamic State, immigration and the surveillance of U.S. citizens. When asked about the White House’s reaction to the poll, Obama’s spokesman Josh Earnest stammered a bit, said, “No, I don’t have any reaction to that,” and the press pool laughed. In his radio show yesterday, Rush Limbaugh said of the poll, “Behind closed doors, this has [the Left] seething. The worst thing in the world is to poll lower than Bush, ‘cause part of it is that they think they’ve been so successful in destroying Bush that they sit around and they think everybody in America hates Bush.
