Bill Clinton Wanted to Speak to North Korea, Congo
He didn’t, but it’s still awfully sleazy.
Part of the reason Hillary Clinton used a private email server was to cover up the shenanigans of the Clinton Foundation. If Bill and Hillary weren’t raking in millions directly, they were funneling dough through their phony foundation — either way, enriching and empowering themselves. ABC News reports, “Bill Clinton delivered 215 speeches totaling over $48 million in the four years Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.” But it was two speeches he wanted to give but didn’t that we’ll highlight here. First, Amitabh Desai, a foreign policy director at the Clinton Foundation, wrote to Hillary’s chief of staff Cheryl Mills, asking, “Is it safe to assume [the U.S. government] would have concerns about [Bill Clinton] accepting the attached invitation related to North Korea?” Safe to assume? It should have been safe to assume that a former U.S. president would not hire himself out to the world’s most repressive regime, but, since the invitation came from Hillary’s brother Tony Rodham, it wasn’t. Bill wanted to cash in on the opportunity, though, in the end, he didn’t. Meanwhile, Mills and Desai also emailed about a speaking opportunity for Bill in Congo. ABC reports, “The catch? The dictators of Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo would both be attending — and required photos with Bill Clinton. The speaking fee? A whopping $650,000.” That would be the same Democratic Republic of Congo that a UN official called the “rape capital of the world.” Both the rape accusations against Bill, as well as Hillary’s recent comments about pro-life Republicans, terrorists and women, make that particular invitation rather enlightening. Hypocrisy knows no bounds when the price is right.
