Were Babies Born Alive Before Being Sold?
CMP video #9 tells more of the story.
In an Aug. 27 letter to Congress, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards makes what the Center for Medical Progress calls “two key admissions” about its procurement program for baby tissue. David Daleiden, who led CMP’s undercover video project, says Richards admits Planned Parenthood received payments for baby parts, and that it adjusts the abortion procedure in order to procure tissue. In that context, we view CMP’s ninth video, which the organization says “focuses on Advanced Bioscience Resources, Inc. (ABR), the small and secretive company that has harvested and sold fetal body parts at Planned Parenthood clinics longer than any other entity.”
In one portion of the video, ABR Procurement Manager Perrin Larton says, “The whole point is not to have a live birth.” But sometimes, she complains, women who’ve had “six pregnancies and six vaginal deliveries” are too quick to deliver. “I literally have had women come in and they’ll go in the O.R. and they’re back out in three minutes,” Larton marveled. “And I’m going, ‘What’s going on?’ Oh yeah, the fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups. It just fell out.” Translation: The baby was pretty far along and perhaps alive, but became an intact cadaver specimen instead.
Larton further complained about how pro-lifers are making things difficult. “Now they’re trying to make abortion illegal, and that’s where we get our tissue,” Larton says. No abortion, no baby parts. She continued, “So now you have this whole big thing where you have people in different states who are absolutely making it so difficult. They want transvaginal ultrasounds just because. There’s no medical reason for it.” As if elective abortion ever has a medical reason.
According to Larton, pro-lifers are also to blame for the atrocities of Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia “doctor” who butchered late-term and even post-birth babies. Larton warns, “And then what will happen is they’ll have more people like Dr. Gosnell who was in Philadelphia who was doing third-trimester abortions and then, you know, clipping the spinal cord of the infant that’s born.” It’s the same back alleys and coat hangers fear mongering typical of abortion fanatics.
The bottom line: Are these lives or not? Do these babies have any rights? And what are we, as a culture, willing to do about it?
