Chicago Starts Off 2016 With a 200% Increase in Shootings
Last year’s spike in shootings in liberal cities isn’t slowing down.
Last year’s spike in homicides and shootings in liberal cities doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. For example, CBS News reports that in Chicago, “Since January 1st, 110 people have been shot — compared to 37 during the same time last year. That’s a nearly 200 percent increase.” As if last year wasn’t bad enough. After an already staggering 2,619 shootings in 2014, that number climbed to 3,004 last year. The current rate, if it continues, would put the number of shooting victims in Chicago at an absolutely mind-boggling figure by the end of 2016. Other cities are experiencing similar issues. Baltimore registered a record 344 homicides last year. In both cities, the overwhelming percentage of crimes were committed by blacks against fellow blacks, and much of the rise can be linked to demoralized police forces. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is fighting for his job after allegations surfaced that his administration intentionally mishandled numerous police shootings. Unfortunately, the situation is likely going to get uglier before it gets better — which will only happen when Americans decide to abandon leftist policies.
