On Monday night in Belfast, Northern Ireland — part of the United Kingdom — a Sudanese migrant tried to behead an Irishman on a public street in front of a crowd of witnesses. Bystanders videoed the grisly attack, and it spread like wildfire on social media.

The would-be assassin, Hadi Alodid, had his victim, 44-year-old Stephen Ogilvie, pinned to the ground, repeatedly slashing him with a knife and then endeavoring to behead him. Bystanders tried to intervene, with one of them even hitting Alodid with a hurling stick. Police arrived at the scene shortly after and arrested the migrant.

Alodid admitted to his crime right away. He was a fuse primed for detonation — earlier that day, he threatened a radiographer as well.

Ogilvie is in the hospital with serious wounds to his face, neck, and back. He has reportedly lost one of his eyes as a result of his stab wounds. Another bystander was also taken to the hospital in the wake of the attack because she was in such deep shock at the horrific scene she witnessed. An attempted beheading is not something you picture on the streets of Belfast. In Iraq, maybe, but not in the UK.

Alodid’s appalling crime is not the first one involving a migrant in Belfast within the past few weeks. A Libyan man attacked Irish police with a knife as well, shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

Astoundingly, Alodid’s crime is not being investigated as a terrorist attack. Despite the obvious, no discernible motive has been made public or disclosed by the bystanders.

Other crimes committed by migrants in the UK have not enjoyed the type of media coverage they deserve. This has become a pattern in the UK. Whenever a crime is committed by a migrant, those in authority write it off as the fault of the knife, downplay the incident, or even bury the story entirely.

Then, when someone points out the common thread between these crimes — government immigration policies that put the safety of citizens last — the authorities belittle them, claiming they’re either racist or seizing the opportunity to demagogue.

British Prime Minister Kier Starmer posted this statement on social media: “The horrific attack in Belfast last night is sickening. I have absolutely no tolerance for abhorrent scenes of violence like this on our streets. My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim, and I thank the first responders, including members of the public who intervened.”

As National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke points out:

What matters is what comes next. Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister, said, that he will have “absolutely no tolerance for abhorrent scenes of violence like this on our streets.” That’s good. But, again, what does he mean? As far as I can see, there are three options. The first option is that Britain intends to rework its immigration process so that Sudanese would-be beheaders find it harder to get in. The second is that Britain does not intend to do that, but that it intends to increase the use of the police to deal with would-be beheadings if and when they happen. The third is that Britons ought to consider would-be beheadings an inevitability in an interconnected world, and to accept that the government’s only role is punishing their perpetrators after the fact.

Starmer’s statement reflects his own fecklessness. He may not want to see such “abhorrent scenes of violence,” but the fact of the matter is that abhorrent scenes of violence are happening frequently — and Starmer’s government is doing nothing. It’s neither stopping the bad actors from entering the UK nor ejecting them.

As for the people of Northern Ireland, they are not taking the predations of Western-hating migrants lying down anymore. There were peaceful protests, but those were unfortunately overshadowed by a group of masked men who took to the streets and rioted Tuesday evening. They set fire to buildings that were housing migrants and caused chaos and destruction. Rioting is never the right answer. Attacking innocents is also never right.

Politicians in the UK had better take a good, hard look at what they’ve allowed to happen. From the rape gang cover-ups to Henry Nowak’s murder to the attempted beheading in Belfast, the politicians have betrayed their very purpose. They are supposed to help maintain a civilized society and ensure the safety of the people. They are failing by every metric.

The United Kingdom has imported untold hordes of people who do not want to assimilate, who hate Western culture, and who want to conquer and plunder the UK. These migrants view the West as colonizers who owe them penance. The majority of politicians have not listened to their constituents and have allowed DEI and “white guilt” to cloud their judgment. They let the barbarians inside the gates.

Angry United Kingdom natives are making their voices heard. Let’s just hope they’re not too late to reclaim their home from the scavengers imported by their feckless politicians.
