Re: McConnell Shows Age Is a Problem in the Senate

“As a nation, we laughed at the old Soviet Union and North Korea for propping up their exalted leaders for special public appearances, attempting to convince the world that all was well. Are we being any different with the likes of Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell, Diane Feinstein, and others?” —North Dakota

“Age may be a factor in the radical takeover of the Democrat side of Congress. Even though the number of actual Marxists may be relatively small, most are under 50, and the old Democrats don’t have the energy to argue with them and keep up the Trump hatred at the same time, especially when their old friend Bernie Sanders is one of the Marx fans. With the exception of Senator Fetterman, they find it easier just to go along, even if it means they are relegated to figurehead status as party leaders.” —Minnesota

Re: Evaluating Donald Trump’s Second Term Thus Far

“The next step is to propose legislation to spin off and close federal departments not authorized by the Constitution, including completing the dismantling of the Department of Education. Call it ‘The First Returning Power to the People Act,’ and combine it with an educational campaign on enumerated powers, the Tenth Amendment, and the correct meaning of ‘provide for the general welfare of the United States.’ That undercuts both the Democrats’ power base and their complaints about ‘Dictator Trump.’” —Minnesota

Re: Appeals Court Tramples the Second Amendment, Upholding ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

“Should have been a slam-dunk decision for the Seventh Circuit Court; would they have ruled on the language of the Second Amendment, ‘shall not be infringed’? Why do we have so many 2A-restrictive laws that clearly violate the Second Amendment? Doesn’t federal law overrule state law? How can any judge with a modicum of constitutional comprehension vote yes for any kind of 2A restrictions, unless they are voting ideology vs. law?” —Illinois

“How about the statistic on how many potential killings were stopped by another person with a gun? There’s no real way to tell how many shootings were never started because of the chance that a good guy with a gun may be present.” —Florida

Re: The Mullahs May Have Just Hammered the Final Nail Into Their Own Coffin

“We need to blockade the Iranians until they cap all their wells. Fracking wells are hard to restart, and most never produce as much oil if they do. This will cripple their economy for decades, meaning that no incoming Democrat president can reverse the damage.” —Texas

“Islamic ideals include persecuting anyone who does not believe in their beliefs. The Left continues its running down of America. This destruction of American culture is consistent with the views of Iran.” —Montana

Re: Vietnam’s Surprising Impact on China and Taiwan

“I’m a Vietnam Veteran who revisited Vietnam about two years ago. Signs of Chinese elements there are everywhere — to the extent that it is clear China essentially runs Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh was reluctant to accept China’s help during the war, but China did help, and it does play a major role in Vietnam today. I believe Vietnam would not do anything to upset the Chinese. In discussions with the Vietnamese people, they say that they are free to do as they please — as long as it meets Chinese approval. If the U.S. and Vietnam become closer economically/politically, it would not sit well with the Chinese, and they would stop it. This article implies that Vietnam is largely free from Chinese influence. I disagree.” —Alabama

“We did not lose the Vietnam War. They did not beat us. We quit. We had a choice: escalate and grind the North into the dirt, or go home. We chose to leave because our plan was never to defeat the North. The plan was to hold off the North until the South had the ability to defend itself. But they had no interest in defending themselves.” —Oklahoma

“All I know is that products from Vietnam seem to be made much better than Chinese ones. If I see it is made in Vietnam, it kinda of relieves me.” —Alaska

Re: 1619 Project Author: Reparations Undermine U.S. Existence

“Saying something loud enough and often enough doesn’t make it true. She’s making an outlandish accusation and then expecting us to refute it when she knows full well you cannot prove a negative. It’s stupidity and ignorance at the highest level.” —Tennessee

“What would anyone call the subsistence living of the majority of Soviet citizens before 1989? Was that not slavery too? There is no doubt that China’s Uyghurs live in slavery!” —Ontario, Canada

Re: The Menace of Teen Takeovers

“We are currently populated with a couple kinds of people. One kind is the free person who goes about life, pressing on with or without the distraction of the inevitable challenges. The other kind is a chronic victim who sees everything in the frame of personal resistance and unfair treatment. That condition is a problem, as it is often rewarded with reinforcement and free stuff. It’s hard to give up free stuff when all you have to do is whine about everything you don’t want to do. Stupid human tricks.” —Washington

Re: The Left Defends an Indefensible Smithsonian

“Of course leftists will deny there’s anything wrong at the Smithsonian. They’ve been caught with their hands in the cookie jar, using federal funds for partisan political propaganda. Is there a Hatch Act violation in the composition and curating of these exhibits?” —Minnesota
