The Patriot Post® · The Trump Administration's Economic Returns
So, Nancy Pelosi histrionically declared, “Civilization as we know it today is at stake in this election.” She may be right, but not for the reasons she intended.
Despite the Democrat Party’s best efforts to undermine consumer confidence and throw the economy into recession ahead of the 2020 election, November’s jobs numbers are out and the news is good. Our economy added 266,000 jobs (more than the 185,000 expected), including 54,000 manufacturing jobs in the midst of dire predictions that Trump’s trade policies would undermine manufacturing. Unemployment is at a 50-year (and near-record) low of 3.5%. The number of Americans working is a record-high 164.4 million people and wages are up 3.1% from a year earlier. And that comes on top of the administration’s 390 significant deregulatory actions since 2017.
This economic health demonstrates how resilient and resourceful capitalism can be under eight years of Barack Obama’s statism, and how much further it can surge after almost three years of the current free-enterprise administration — despite Democrat obstruction. They always place politics over people.
Even The New York Times’s senior economics analyst, Neil Irwin, concedes: “The American economy is capable of cranking at a higher level than conventional wisdom held as recently as a few years ago. As the economy continues to grow well above what once seemed like its potential, without inflation or other clear signs of overheating, it’s clearer that the old view of its potential was an extremely costly mistake.”
Fact is, “civilization as we know it today” is always at stake, and that is true in the upcoming 2020 election. But despite Pelosi’s implication, the greatest threat to American Liberty, and thus that of all people, is Pelosi, Schumer, and their socialist Democrat Party.
