Can the Democrat Party — with the full cooperation of mainstream media and Big Tech — hide Joe Biden’s declining cognitive abilities right up to Election Day?

“Biden has conducted no free-wheeling, unscripted press conferences,” notes columnist Victor Davis Hanson. “He will not do extended one-on-one interviews with a disinterested journalist. He rarely will even try Trump-like cameo appearances on CNN or MSNBC to answer unscripted questions from supporters. His press events instead are Orwellian, requiring a media mass suspension of disbelief.”

Orwellian indeed. There are many topics that would prove “problematic” for Joe Biden, even if he were in the best of health. A January 5, 2017, meeting with high-level Obama administration officials — at which the former president himself outlined how those officials would prevent the incoming Trump administration from finding out about secretly funded Clinton campaign research used to foment the Russia-collusion investigation — is one. How Biden’s son, Hunter, ended up on the board of a corrupt Burisma Holdings is another. Reporters might even ask Biden why in 2019 he insisted China is “not competition for us,” why he was for a fracking ban before he was against it, or why Biden, even after belatedly condemning widespread and coordinated violence perpetrated overwhelmingly in Democrat-controlled cities, steadfastly refuses to condemn BLM and antifa as its instigators.

Instead, we get a protective Associated Press insisting that Biden turns off his teleprompter when answering reporters’ questions, and campaign spokesman TJ Ducklo declaring that he refuses to “allow the Trump campaign to funnel their questions through FOX News” when FNC’s Bret Baier asked about whether Biden uses a teleprompter during ostensibly spontaneous discussions.

Unfortunately, Biden himself can’t maintain the subterfuge. During an online April interview with James Corden, Biden displayed a photograph of himself with his sons. The glass in which it was framed reflected a teleprompter with alternating blue and green script, perhaps representing Corden’s questions in one color and Biden’s answers in the other.

Neither can his staffers. At an event in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a BLM activist walked up to the mic and admitted they had told her what to say. Moreover, during a recent Q&A, Biden turned to his handler and asked him to start calling on reporters. “I guess … are you calling on people? I don’t have a list.”

Columnist Adam Mill gets it exactly right. “Joe! You’re not supposed to admit to following a list!” he writes, further noting that Biden relied heavily on cue cards during that softball session. And during another TV interview, Biden accidentally read aloud a talking point “topline” given to him by his staffers regarding questions about Venezuela.

Yet most disturbing of all is how the media have buried the most blatant evidence of Joe’s decline, as in his increasingly incoherent answers to questions. The following are verbatim quotes:

  • “I carry with me — I don’t have it. I gave it, I gave it to my staff. I carry it with me in my pocket a — do I have that around anyone? Where’s my staff? I gave it away anyway…”

  • “If you change the tax rate it went from 38% to 21. If you just send it back to 20 uh — 38%, um, if you — 36% to 28, that’s what we started trying to do.”

  • “And the jobs of hundreds of thousands of American workers, the lifebud [sic] of communities all across the Midwest — if you reshore jobs that have been pres— that have presently previously been sent overseas.”

  • “If I were president that’s what I’d do and I’d get it done like previous precedents presidents.”

A Tuesday meeting with veterans in Tampa proved no better: “‘Cause if you could take care, if you were a quartermaster, you can sure in hell take care runnin’ a, you know, a department store, uh, thing, you know, where, in the second floor of the ladies department or whatever, you know what I mean?”

Big Tech is just as protective. Google, whose highest-level executives were crushed by Trump’s victory in 2016 — and vowed not to let something like it happen again — have also joined the fray. “To understand what Google is doing, you need to know that Google, like all search engines, has an autocomplete function,” columnist Andrea Widburg explains. “As you start typing in the query box, the search engine will start making suggestions for the most common searches that use the words you’re typing.”

Widburg typed the words “Joe Biden” into three other search engines. In all three, “Joe Biden dementia” came up — meaning there were a lot of searches with regard to Biden’s mental decline.

Google? No mention at all. Widburg then typed “Joe Biden has,” and all Google came up with was “been in politics how long.” When she finally entered “Joe Biden has dementia,” she says the search engine that accounts for 75% of all desktop Internet searches and more than 90% of mobile phone searches “didn’t even acknowledge that anyone else has ever done this search.”

Google is hardly an outlier. “In the months leading up to the Democratic National Convention, more than 260 conservative users on Facebook and Twitter had their posts about Biden scrubbed from the social media platforms,” Media Research Center columnists Corinne Weaver and Heather Moon reported.

Will it all work? Perhaps the answer depends on how many Democrat and Democrat-leaning independent voters Democrats can get to cast their ballots prior to the three debates that could prove to be Biden’s ultimate undoing. The first debate is scheduled for September 29, and the Commission on Presidential Debates rejected the Trump campaign’s request to modify the schedule so that the first debate could occur before that voting occurred. In addition, several figures in the Democrat Party and media have suggested Biden should either skip the debates altogether or condition them on Trump releasing his tax returns or having “real-time fact-checkers” included.

Unfortunately for Biden, those suggestions took place before the widespread rioting allowed and/or condoned by members of his party, not an itoa of which was acknowledged by Democrats during their convention. Moreover, the attempted assassination of two police officers in Compton — followed by BLM protesters at the hospital where they were taken expressing the hope they would die — may ultimately prove to be the most clarifying moment in this year’s election. As of this writing, Biden has condemned the act, but not those who support it. Even more tone-deaf, Biden pushed for gun control less than 24 hours later in a nation where gun sales have hit record highs, largely due to Democrat-fomented rioting.

Bottom line? This is the most cynical presidential campaign in the history of the nation. And no one inadvertently revealed that cynicism better than Democrat VP candidate Kamala Harris. Speaking to a group of Latino business owners in Arizona last Saturday, the senator referred to a Harris administration, “together with Joe Biden,” providing access to “$100 billion in low-interest loans and investments for minority business owners.”

Not to be outdone, Joe himself made the same “Harris-Biden administration” reference a day later.

A Harris administration? The bet here is that in the grander scheme, she’s as irrelevant as Biden, and that power would ultimately be wielded by a cabal of unelected, unaccountable hard-left insiders wholly beholden to America’s globalist plutocrats. Plutocrats who view the nation-state itself as the biggest obstacle to their historically unprecedented self-enrichment schemes.

It’s what promoting — and protecting — an empty vessel for president is really all about.
