Man, life is good if you’re a wealthy leftist. Just ask climate czar and ketchup heiress John Kerry. Or former president and newly minted 60-something Barack Obama.

Fresh off this week’s release of the latest doom-and-gloom climate report from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, we learn that Kerry’s own personal contribution to the coming climate calamity is already 30 times that of the average vehicle’s emissions for an entire year. But, hey, give him time: It’s only August.

To be sure, and as our Thomas Gallatin noted, these climate change computer models are only as good as the information being fed them. And the questions persist: Is human activity alone to blame for the slight warming of the planet? And if so, are the draconian measures proposed by the ecofascists really the best way forward?

These are good and important questions, but John Kerry refuses to be bothered by them. Indeed, when it comes to climate change, the Purple Heart collector, Cambodian combat fantasist, and Vietnam-era turncoat — whom Joe Biden has tasked with flying around the world in a private jet to scold the rest of us about our carbon footprints — is clearly of the Do as I say, not as I do mindset.

Recall that Kerry was caught earlier this year on a commercial flight sans a mask during the height of the masking frenzy.

And recall that it was just 2015 when Kerry sneered, “We have … members of the flat earth society who seem to believe that the ocean rise won’t be a problem because the water will just spill over the edge.”

As to those rising oceans, the rest of us are just about up to our eyeballs in cognitive dissonance. As Charlie Kirk tweeted, “If Joe Biden’s special ‘Climate Envoy,’ John Kerry, actually believed in Global Warming and rising sea levels, why would he live in a $12,000,000 waterfront mansion on the island of Martha’s Vineyard?”

Speaking of risky real estate ventures on Martha’s Vineyard, and speaking of eating cake, let’s not forget our 44th president, who this past weekend celebrated his 60th birthday with a few hundred close friends and fellow hypocrites at his own oceanfront mansion. Maybe his first election really was when “the rise of the oceans began to slow.”

What’s that, you ask? Might this have been one of those super-spreader events that those on the Left are always warning us about? Not to worry, fellow rubes. These are the elites, and their maskless selves are impervious to the China virus.

Or, as one Leftmedia apologist, New York Times White House correspondent Annie Karni, put it, “This is a sophisticated, vaccinated crowd.”

Right. They’re sophisticated. And the rest of us aren’t.
