While many grassroots Patriots are rightly focused on left-wing hate speech1 and the abuses of power2 that have been3 and could be4 spawned from the incendiary rhetoric5, there is another front they should view with no small amount of alarm.

That is the push the Left is making over “climate change.” Nobody disputes Earth’s climate has changed over the eons and epochs that this planet has been around. Look up the Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age, for example. Or you can go back to the Ice Age and the time of the dinosaurs. Nobody would argue that figuring out just how our planet’s environment works is a bad idea.

Oh, and we all want clean air and water. That should go without saying, except that leftists seem to think conservatives hate these things.

The big question in the wake of COVID-196, especially considering the double standards7 and depraved indifference8 shown by politicians and bureaucrats to the suffering the lockdowns inflicted, is this: Can we trust that the scientists are giving us straight answers and not playing politics?

There is a lot of justification to ask that question of the Biden administration. During the pandemic, we noted that scientists were playing political favorites9. There is also the example of how some in the field of medicine perverted and prostituted10 science to push gun control.

We can’t ignore the fact that the pronouncements given out by “experts” who don’t miss paychecks when lockdowns are imposed (unlike many in the real world) are backed by ruthless censorship from Silicon Valley11. Let’s put it this way — there is anecdotal evidence that hydroxychloroquine12 and Ivermectin13 are at least somewhat effective as treatments for COVID, especially when given early.

What can we say for climate change? Can we trust the data? We can’t be sure. But there are some red flags that we could see the same sorts of moving goalposts14 we saw with the COVID-19 pandemic. For starters, there is a track record of doomsday predictions15 that haven’t come to pass. This raises the question of whether we are dealing with a “garbage in, garbage out”16 situation.

Worse, we can’t help but note that some prominent scientists are calling for censorship17 of dissenting viewpoints. In 2016, some Democrat attorneys general sought to wield RICO18 against opponents of their environmental policies. Before he was fighting vaccine mandates, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wanted to unleash the legal system19 on opponents of his preferred policies. Does this remind you of some of the tactics we’ve seen during the Biden administration, or from the State of New York20?

Yet despite all that, Americans are asked to make massive changes to their lives on the say-so of a lot of “experts” who won’t miss paychecks in the process of enacting those changes while many Americans will struggle — after already suffering the biggest regulatory taking21 in history during the COVID-19 pandemic. Will the steps we are told we must take to “save the planet” be another “cure” worse than the “disease”?22

The fact is, if politicians and the government experts want to understand why there is skepticism on climate change, they just have to look at their own conduct. Sadly, they prefer censorship, brute-force weaponization of government power, and false claims of attacks on science to the self-reflection and humility needed to begin the process of regaining years — if not decades — of squandered trust. That is not likely to happen under Joe Biden.
