The Patriot Post® · Biden's MLK 'Unity' Address
Joe Biden celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by threatening Americans, smearing Republicans and cops, and forgetting the name of MLK III’s wife while singing “Happy Birthday” to her. Just another day in the life of our cognitively disabled president.
“Happy birthday, dear Valvey,” sang the president … to Arndrea Waters King. Someone get Dr. Jill Biden to pull him off the stage, please. It’s darn near elder abuse to have him out there any longer.
It went downhill from there.
Before the singing, race-baiter Al Sharpton introduced Biden at the National Action Network Martin Luther King Jr. Day Breakfast, which tells us a lot about the event and certainly indicated what direction President Unity would take. Certainly not the one MLK would have taken. Indeed, as a side note, the White House transcript of his remarks capitalizes the “b” in “black” but not the “w” in “white.” Equity, we suppose.
Biden began with repeating his spin on the economy. It was “flat on its back” when he came into office, he claimed, and only thanks to his having “acted decisively” did it — and the minorities to whom he was speaking — recover.
After essentially claiming his predecessor’s record of economic opportunity for minorities as his own and touting all the things Big Brother Government is doing for the country, he went on to accuse Republicans of being “fiscally demented.” Remember who just bungled “Happy Birthday.” The substantive objection, of course, is that Democrats are the ones who insist on throwing trillions of dollars at every problem — problems sometimes created by previous government spending or interference — all while demanding more money be confiscated from taxpayers and stealing from your descendants in the form of the national debt. He again falsely claimed credit for cutting the deficit, too.
On the tax question, he went into his bizarre grandpa whisper to defend “all these new IRS agents we have.” He asked: “Who needs serious agents to know what they’re doing and not doing? The billionaires.”
Fact-check: We were assured by the Leftmedia that the IRS’s 87,000 new employees are not all “agents.” Second, those “agents” are going to run out of billionaires pretty quickly and turn on the middle class in violation of Biden’s oft-repeated promise.
Next, Biden went on to talk about how he and those in attendance “worked so hard to pass the George Floyd [Justice] in Policing Act.” Yes, he botched that name too. He also bragged that since the people’s elected representatives declined to pass the bill, he whipped out his pen and signed an executive order to legislate it anyway.
He began talking about what his order does before saying: “We have to retrain cops as to why should you always shoot for — with deadly force. The fact is, if you need to use your weapon, you don’t have to do that.”
Yeah, a couple of blasts in the air with that double-barrel shotgun ought to do it, eh, Joe? The truth is, police use their firearms to stop the threat presented by a suspect, which means aiming for center mass. It’s easy for Biden to opine up there behind the protection of Secret Service agents, but shooting a belligerent and sometimes drug-addled suspect while under duress doesn’t lend itself to aiming for the leg, which Biden has recommended in the past.
While he wants to “emphasize de-escalation” with cops, however, Biden doesn’t preach that when it comes to American citizens exercising their Second Amendment rights. Instead, he threatens us.
He thumped his chest about how “I am going to get assault weapons banned” because he “did it once” and will “do it again.” Then he launched into his mind-numbing but dangerous misinformation, deflection, incoherence, dumb jokes, and plain threats:
There’s no social redeeming value. Deer aren’t wearing Kevlar vests out there. What the hell do you need an assault — no, I’m serious. And ban the number of bullets that go in a magazine. There’s no — no need for any of that.
“Ban the number of bullets…”? What?
I love my right-wing friends who talk about “the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of patriots.” Give me a — if you need to worry about taking on the federal government, you need some F-15s. You don’t need an AR-15. I’m serious. Think about it. Think about the rationale for this. It’s about money — money, money, money.
He keeps repeating that threat over AR-15s as if he wants to start a war over the possession of them. That war wouldn’t go how he thinks it would go. Then again, maybe he’s just open to the idea of private citizens purchasing fighter jets.
“Together,” he said, “we’re saying out loud and we’re saying it clearly that, in America, hate will not prevail.” Who’s he kidding? Democrats are the party of hate and division. That continued in President Unity’s speech Monday, which contained too many other examples of obnoxious divisiveness and outright falsehood for us to rebut them all.
