On October 22, 2021, Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Scott Perry introduced House Resolution No. 743, “Impeaching Merrick Brian Garland, Attorney General of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Perry, a retired Army National Guard brigadier general, must’ve gotten under someone’s skin because 10 months later, on August 9, 2022, a day after the FBI had raided Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, an out-of-control FBI seized Perry’s cellphone while he was traveling on vacation with his family.

We mention this because nothing much has changed since then — except Republicans have taken control of the House. And because Garland still deserves to be impeached for “a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties as an Officer of the United States,” and for having “failed to faithfully uphold his oath and [instead presiding] over a reckless and corrosive politicization of the Department of Justice.”

Impeachment is, ultimately, a political act, and no attorney general — not even Barack Obama’s “wingman,” Eric Holder — has been more rankly political than Merrick Garland. The man who was thankfully denied a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court has since taken out his wrath by enforcing two tiers of justice upon the American people: one for those on the Left and another for those on the Right.

The latest case of this involves Maeve Nota, 31, a man who identifies as a woman, who was caught on camera and has since admitted to vandalizing the St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Washington, last summer. As National Review reports, Nota is thus guilty of smashing two glass doors and spray-painting a number of obscenities, including “F**k Catholics,” “rot in your fake hell,” “kid groomers,” and “woman haters.” See for yourself:

Nota also admitted to wrecking a statue of the Virgin Mary, spraying paint in the face of a church worker, and resisting arrest.

And for all this, Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice recommends zero jail time.

Zero jail time.

What on earth are House Republicans waiting for?

Now let’s compare the Nota case to that of author, pro-life activist, and father of seven Mark Houck, whose home was raided last September “by 25 to 30 armed FBI agents, who pounded on the door and yelled at the family to open it,” according to Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie.

As we reported at the time, Houck opened the door after pleading with the FBI agents: “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.” After entry, the agents pointed their firearms at the Houcks while sending the children upstairs. “The kids were all just screaming,” said Mrs. Houck. “It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

Houck’s “crime” was having prayed with his young son near a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood facility and having protected his son from repeated abuse by a local abortion activist. As our Nate Jackson reported:

Houck was more than 100 feet away from the clinic’s entrance, and he was not interfering with access for anyone, including the man with whom he had an altercation.

Houck wasn’t accused of vandalizing the clinic the way pro-abortion zealots have done to dozens of churches and pregnancy resource centers around the country. He wasn’t charged with trying to assassinate a Supreme Court justice the way a pro-abortion radical did to Brett Kavanaugh.

Houck ultimately beat this outrageous rap, but that doesn’t make it any less egregious, nor does it make the disparity in justice any more tolerable.

“It is very clear,” said Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, “that the Biden Justice Department has politicized and weaponized the FACE Act to go after pro-life Christians praying outside of abortion clinics like Mark Houck while turning a blind eye to violent felons terrorizing and badly damaging Catholic churches like Maeve Nota.”

Davis continued: “The Biden Justice Department tried to put Houck in prison for 11 years for defending his son while recommending no jail time for Nota after this deranged trans terrorist badly damaged a Catholic church, fought with the police, assaulted a church employee, and scared the hell out of a little old lady praying.”

The two tiers of justice being meted out by Joe Biden’s attorney general couldn’t be any more blatant, any more impeachable.

And so we must ask once again: What on earth are House Republicans waiting for?
