Pro-Lifer Beats Bogus Biden Rap
“The Biden Department of Justice’s intimidation against pro-life people and people of faith has been put in its place.”
The Social Justice Department tried to make an example of him and it backfired. Thankfully, all’s well that ends in acquittal for Mark Houck, the author, pro-life activist, and father of seven who was arrested during a heavily armed early-morning FBI raid over the fact that he shoved another man near a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood.
Houck’s real crime, however, is being a pro-life Catholic in the America run by Joe “Good Catholic” Biden.
On Monday, more than four months after his arrest and 15 months since the incident in question, a jury acquitted Houck of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which prohibits protesters from blocking an abortion clinic. During the October 2021 incident, Houck was more than 100 feet away from the clinic’s entrance, and he was not interfering with access for anyone, including the man with whom he had an altercation.
Houck wasn’t accused of vandalizing the clinic the way pro-abortion zealots have done to dozens of churches and pregnancy resource centers around the country. He wasn’t charged with trying to assassinate a Supreme Court justice the way a pro-abortion radical did to Brett Kavanaugh.
Instead, Houck was charged with blocking access to the clinic, which he clearly did not do, and for “attacking a patient escort” — i.e., Bruce Love, a belligerent man who was repeatedly cursing and intimidating Houck and his young son. When the ironically named Love got up in Houck’s face for the umpteenth time, Houck finally gave him a well-deserved shove to the ground.
And for that, a father of seven faced 11 years in prison, all so Joe Biden and his thugs could send a message to pro-lifers — especially any who mess with the federal-largesse recipient Planned Parenthood now that Roe has been overturned.
Local authorities declined to prosecute the case, and a lower court had already thrown out a civil case before the Biden administration threw the FBI and its top FACE Act attorney at Houck. Yet it took very little time for the jury to see through the charade.
“We took on Goliath — the full might of the United States government — and won,” proclaimed Peter Breen, head of litigation for the Thomas More Society that defended Houck. “The Biden Department of Justice’s intimidation against pro-life people and people of faith has been put in its place.”
Legally, that’s true for now in this case. Yet our oh-so-tolerant countrymen on the other side of cultural issues don’t receive such rebuke humbly, and they never stop “progressing” toward totalitarian social justice. Nevertheless, it’s always good to celebrate a win for the pro-life cause and for the Rule of Law.
