The Enshrinement of Essential Liberty

The U.S. Constitution

On 17 September, we observe Constitution Day in recognition of the anniversary of that venerable document's signing by our nation's Founders in 1787.

They understood that the Liberty enshrined in our Constitution would be tested every day forward. Indeed, the Rule of Law embodied in our Constitution is under siege in the present era, and the Socialist regime of Barack Hussein Obama has proven to be a more subversive threat to freedom than that of any sitting president in our nation's history.

Much of the burden of the damage already done by this odious regime will be shouldered by the next generation, including my children, and it will take clear-headed young conservatives in their generation to hold the line against tyranny.

Like millions of other American Patriots, especially parents, I am of the same opinion as Thomas Paine on the matter of passing our burden to them: "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."

Just one short election cycle past, a majority of Americans were duped into voting for a childish and flimsy promise of "hope and change." What the nation received instead was a perilous attempt by a small cadre of elite Leftists to "fundamentally transform the United States of America."

To arm yourself with the right intellectual ammo to reverse that transformation, I invite you to read any or all of these collected essays outlining the Liberty proclaimed in our Declaration of Independence, and enshrined in our nation's Constitution. After all, if we are to "secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity," we must first know precisely what it is we're defending.

Start with Essential Liberty, a brief but comprehensive essay on the origins of Liberty: On December 16th, 1773, "radicals" from Boston, members of a secret organization of American Patriots called the Sons of Liberty, boarded three East India Company ships and threw 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor.

A 'Living Constitution' for a Dying Republic: For its first 150 years (with the notable exception Marbury v. Madison in 1803), our Constitution stood as our Founders, and more importantly, "the people," intended -- as is -- in accordance with its original intent. In other words, it was interpreted exegetically rather than eisegetically, textually as constructed, not as could be re-interpreted by later generations of jurists.

Our Sacred Honor ... to Support and Defend: The Constitution specifies in Article VI, clause 3: "The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution..." The Constitution also prescribes the following oath to be taken by the president-elect: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The First Statement of Conservative Principles: It took the election of a "community organizer" and ideological Socialist, Barack Hussein Obama, to launch a popular resurgence of interest in constitutional Rule of Law and the First Principles upon which our nation was founded, and not a moment too soon.

On American Patriotism: American Patriots will not stand idly by while the last vestiges of Liberty succumb to tyranny. In Jefferson's words, "Honor, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us. We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them if we basely entail hereditary bondage on them."

When Debating a Liberal, Start With First Principles: Rule Number One: You must define the debate in terms of First Principles, which is to say, you must be able to articulate those principles. "On every question of construction, carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." --Thomas Jefferson

The Patriot Declaration: We are American Patriots, defenders of First Principles and Essential Liberty... The Patriot Declaration is not a petition. It is a "Declaration of Cause and Necessity" and stands on its own as a resolution of intent for all who sign it. Just as important, it serves as due notice for those who would abandon their oath to "Support and Defend the Constitution" and abuse their office to the detriment of individual liberty and states' rights.

This week, as our family celebrates the birthday of my firstborn son, we are reminded of the challenges he, his siblings and their peers will face in future generations. Let us resolve this Constitution Day to arm and rearm ourselves with the First Principles necessary to defend Essential Liberty.

Virtually every other revolution in history has just exchanged one set of rulers for another set of rulers. Our revolution was the first to say the people are the masters, and government is their servant."

(On a personal note, in our household, we observe Constitution Day further because it is the date of birth of my eldest son. I suppose there really is no such thing as coincidence, because this young man, like his younger sister and brother, proudly represents the promise of Liberty for the next generation. They are each outspoken advocates for both Liberty and constitutional Rule of Law in their schools and clubs.

All legal American Citizens should be required to read, acknowledge and swear allegiance to our constitution.

Additionally every socialist and RINO in congress should be required to immediately read, take an exam on, and pass with at least a 90%. Those who serve in congress, by virtue of their elevated national positions, should be required to attain a higher passing grade than the general public.

Moreover, a new directive that states that at anytime any politician breaks this allegiance, proposes laws against, or strays from the constitution's original meaning; they will be tried, prosecuted, fined, and imprisoned for the required term according to the new “Constitutional Requirements Test” law.

In fact, we should start now imprisoning many currently in congress for their treasons acts against our beloved constitution!

Mr. Alexander - As much as I hope we can undo Obama's damage, I disagree with you that BHO is the most dangerous President in our history. FDR was far more destructive to our country and our founding principles. He is the one that started us down this path. He had no use at all for the constitution. Even Wilson was probably more dangerous, because he set the philosophical principles that FDR relied upon. Ironicly, BHO may be the one that reverses this movement, since the people are finally waking up to the danger.

Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution clearly states: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." The obamanation and his sycophants, by allowing, aiding and abetting, this invasion - coupled with the willing abandonment of US soil, citizens and property to invading forces, has committed treason against the United States of America.

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution clearly states: "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." The obamanation and all complicit government officials including the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Attorney General of the United States are equally guilty of treason and must be removed from office. Those failing to take such Constitutionally mandated action, and members of congress including but not limited to Congresswoman Pelozi and Senator Reid, are equally guilty and are aiding and abetting traitors. Senator Reid has recently introduced legislation holding the lives and health of our troops fighting the war on terror hostage to further aid and abet this invasion of illegal aliens, coupling his crimes with that of extortion.

It is up to the people of the United States, in the midst of this broad conspiracy of our government in these high crimes, to take whatever action they deem fit. God bless patriots everywhere and God Bless the United States of America.

I would like to comment on President Obama and all the crap he is blamed for since elected by US Citizens. He is not nearly, by a long shot, as dangerous to the United States as is Congress and the size of our government.

Congress is the moldy, cancerous growth that is killnig America. There are no term limits for Congress men/women and probably will not be as long as they are the ones who would put limits in place. They are the ones who spend all our monies, they are the ones taking directions and monies from lobbyists (second most dangerous government department), and they are the ones looking after themselves only and NOT the American people!

WE THE PEOPLE must take back control of OUR government. WE THE PEOPLE must find a way around Congress in order to get issues on the ballot in general elections that allow for US Citizens to demand what we want.

Until this happens we will just plod along until the cancerous growth becomes too big to carry and we collapse on the ground.

Let's lighten up on Obama and go after Congress!

My Fellow Americans:

It is with great respect for each of you that I humbly come before you tonight to deliver my 3rd State of the Union address. During the short time we will spend together this evening, I will be outlining a new course for our country, a course which I believe will help steer us back onto the road to Peace and Prosperity.

These past two years have been tumultuous for all of us. We have witnessed an unprecedented number of financial crises which today show no sign of turning around. During this time I have taken advice from my many supporters and chosen staff and have acted in good faith to try and correct the worst of these problems. However, I have now come to the realization that even the best of advice from well meaning folks can sometimes be either inaccurate, inappropriate, or at worst, completely contrary to the action needed to solve the problem. Considering the size of the problems we face as a Nation, I am now going to take charge of the situation by going in a new direction.

There will be those who will cry foul and point fingers at this group or that, continuing to try and place blame for this problem or that problem. I for one hereby pledge that I will no longer be among those, for it is time to stand up, take whatever blame I am due, and be the one to turn a deaf ear to those who wish to find someone or something, to blame. Our problems are what they are. Each of us had a part and responsibility for getting us to the present. I now say that each of us have a part and responsibility for resolving the current problems and delivering us to a more sound future – one where families can once again have a home, plan and invest for their own futures, involve themselves in community organizations designed to help folks right there in their own neighborhoods, save for their retirement, feel confident that if they get sick or need medical help that the services they need will be there for them – all the while living the American Dream and fulfilling the hopes and desires of those generations who came before who sacrificed themselves, both on the battlefield and in the field of their labors, so that we might profit from those investments, improve upon them, and pass along an even better future to our offspring.

I know that when I came into office there was much excitement , hope, and enthusiasm – partly because of my high ideals for the future, and partly because what I represented to so many of you – that of an individual with a mixed background who had risen to the highest office in our country. I was held up as an example so that others would once again believe in our system of social justice and reaffirming that indeed our country is a Land of Opportunity. However, I have come to realize that mere ideals are not enough to run a country – that a country is run primarily by the hard-working men and women of the workplace, those who have started a business while providing opportunities to others, those who have been fortunate enough to have the responsibility of overseeing the private wealth of our country and where it needs to be invested, those entrepreneurs who plow the fields or visualize a new neighborhood, those who bet everything they have on building that new shopping mall or other place of business not only because they see a need but who also see the potential for profit, those who work diligently every day just to make sure that the products their factory turn out continue to be competitive given the fierceness of the world economy, those who attend the House of Worship of their choice while donating on a regular basis to see that the wisdom of their faith is not only kept alive but growing as well, those who contribute their own sweat equity to help the less fortunate in their communities, those who have chosen a profession not based on pay but based on their own desire to serve their fellow man, those who have chosen to defend our nation while putting their lives on the line by joining our military forces – and the list goes on. In short, it is you the American People who make this country work – and not your government. For I have come to realize that your government is here merely to assist you along the way by providing those services as provided for in our Constitution. For over many decades our country has veered from this path and it is now time to begin the process that will return us to the Principles of our Founding.........

Please congratulate your son for me on his earning his Eagle Scout preferment - I too archived that pinnacle of Scouting in 1958. The Scout Oath, and the Scout Law, have guided me throughout these fifty-seven years as a Scout, both active and former and neither has ever failed to direct me in the right and proper direction in all my endeavors.

To "True Patriot," et.al.: In the final analysis it is not Obama, Bush, Reagan, Wilson, or FDR who are to blame for the sorry condition we find ourselves in today. The blame and fault lies solely with ourselves, the citizens who, through our laziness, non-attention, and disdain for our institutions and traditions, are to blame. It is past time that we all got up off of our collective duffs and return this nation to the rule of law under the Constitution. No more the "Rex lex" adopted by our so called leaders, but "Lex rex," as ordained by the incalculable wisdom of our founders.

Like every other word that has come out of his and their mouths, what Obama is proposing is not to raise taxes. In Obamaworld, that qualifies as a tax reduction -- for the moment. Do you remember having been given instructions by your doctor to "Take all the medication i've prescribed, even after you feel fine and the symptoms are gone"? It's the same with Progressivism, Marxism, Communism, Liberalism, the Commiecrats, Obama-ism. Substitute "communist" for "Socialist" and "Dwight D. Eisenhower" for "Barack Hussein Obama," and this could be lifted straight from a John Birch Society pamphlet.

Well that's quite an exception, don't you think? The exception that established judicial review, that made the Judiciary a co-equal branch of government---fairly "notable," wouldn't you say? So what's the argument here? Deviating from the Constitution is bad except when it's not?

3. "Rule Number One: You must define the debate in terms of First Principles, which is to say, you must be able to articulate those principles."

Please see #2. If you're going to talk about first principles, I'd think that "defining when it's okay to disregard the Constitution" would be one of them.

I believe the only way to remake our Country in the mold intended by the Founders is to simplify and clarify. Something Republicans cannot do if their lives depend upon it. (It does, actually) With this in mind, I believe that the Country is far better off with the election of President Obama.

John McCain would have been for cap and trade, some form of healthcare reform and an increase of taxes. We would have gotten the same, but "lighter". Now we have a revolt instead of a slow boil. But only because an Obama election was incredibly clarifying. We should expand on this clarification.

The difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Socialism lives within the Democrat party and capitalism has a home in the Republican party. Now, through this prism, let's look at what is said.

For instance, if one were to look at everything the Democrats say and do and compare it to the Communist Manifesto, there would be no degree of separation. Democrats are for the "little guy", Republicans are for the rich. No, Demos are for income redistribution from the rich to everyone else. The Manifesto? Check. They are for unions. The Manifesto? Check. Progressive tax system? Check. Government control of education? Check. Elimination of religion? Check. National healthcare? Check. I wish people would actually read the Manifesto.

This exercise would be clarifying in itself but would also cut into each and every argument they make. Tax cuts for the rich has some currency unless it is thought about in terms of redistribution. It does not make sense in terms of coherent economic policy. Everything becomes clear. The term "socialism" would be our "racist, homophobe, etc.". Let them try to deny it. They would stutter like Petunia Pig.

I respect you very much and read each of your essays. Does this have any merit?

I recently recorded a 1949 movie, Ayn Rand’s “Fountainhead”. I came upon one passage that I thought so pertinent that I ran the DVD back several times in order to write it down. I don’t know if it appears this way in the book since I read it nearly fifty years ago, but I’ll bet it does since Rand also wrote the screenplay for the movie.

Gotta agree that Wilson and FDR started us down this road... and BHO is just continuing the FDR/LBJ tradition. So many southerners were so 'burned' by the War and the so-called 'Reconstruction' that followed that they ceased to realize that Republicans were not the only enemy to federalism and the Constitution as viewed by the "solid South." The Democrats of Wilson/FDR had changed to from Constitutionalism to Communism....they just called it the "New Deal." Yet, southerners supported Democrats despite their treachery against the Constitution.

Neither major party is a friend to liberty and the Constitution. The Constitution is an inconvenience to be subverted and given lip service. Both major parties, owned and operated by the same forces, are out to maintain the status quo, to enrich themselves and keep the taxpayers down on the tax slavery plantation. The so-called "Contract with America," the "Revolution of 1994" and the Bush years with GOP Congress prove that Repubs are just as bad and the FDR/LBJ Democrats. Only the rhetoric changes... the results are the same: more tax slavery, more debt, more out of control spending.

And keep this in mind, too. Wilson/FDR/LBJ owe their ability to subvert the Constitution to a People wholly conditioned to the crushing of the Constitution by Lincoln and the tyrants who invoked his name to advance us from a Republic to an empire. It began in the 1860s...and accelerated in the 1930s and 1960s.

As economist Robert Higgs so ably points out, it was wars that expanded the government with the "Rachet Effect"...following each war (WBTS, WWI, WWII, etc.), the government never contracted to its pre-war size... it just kept growing -- working to increase its power. Eisenhower warned us of the "military-industrial complex" which is equally dangerous to our liberties as is the failed policies of the FDR/LBJ entitlement complex.

Pat Buchanan ably points out that we must 'liquidate the empire' and put checks on the military-industrial complex. Likewise, we must reverse the entitlement-complex and undo FDR's social security, LBJ's medicare and Bush's Drug entitlement. One look at the Debt Clock for the US will show you that it's entitlements that will bankrupt the U.S. We owe over $13.5 TRILLION in interest bearing debt... but we owe over $120 TRILLION in entitlement obligations. The madness has brought us to the brink of disaster. Is it too late to pull back?

Term and Tenure Limits---Proposed Constitutional Amendment as follows:

We The People of the United States of America, declare the Declaration of Independence and the Signatory Clause as the fore word and the end word of this our Constitution, and ever proclaim our Sovereignty as a People and a Nation. And Renounce the use of Force: Armies, Navies to make aggressive War, declared or nor, for the purpose of conquest or dominion.

No Person, upon sole reason of quantity of debt shall be deprived of life or liberty; and the Congress shall make No Debt for the Nation or the several States, lest the monies appropriated be for exigencies of War or of the common defense.

The Person, a Citizen, whether being; Elected, Appointed, or Commissioned; such that each of these officers, not elsewhere provided for in this Constitution, shall have been a Citizen of the United States seven years; and Cadre military, hired civil servants, and contractors of all inferior offices shall be a Citizen. And these Persons upon candidacy for office, to prove literacy and to Know Thine Oath, shall read aloud and whole, in English, henceforth the official language of the Land, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States; before a randomly Called and Sworn Jury of one hundred Citizen peers of the vicinage of the Person; and after reading, the Jurors being empowered to annul such candidacy by a vote of seventy-six. Citizenship is not required of non-cadre enlisted military lest secrecy be a necessity in the performance of their regular duty.

No one Person shall be an employee of the United States as any Officer or subordinate- receiving an emolument or profit, for a span longer than thirty-eight years. A Citizen only, shall vote in the vicinage of the state wherein they reside, proving residence of seven months per annum; for elective offices or issues in federal, state, or local elections or referendums within the United States or any jurisdiction thereof. And the Will of the People as determined by vote tally shall not be challenged, stayed, or negated, by any Person, Citizen, Judicial Court, or Officer of the United States or of any State, lest the resultant margin be less than one percentile. And no Justice, Judge, or other Officer shall cite any other source save this Constitution to decide the constitutionality and meaning of the Laws of the Land, or treaties made in pursuance thereof; or to decide any cause of action.

The President; -he, in the event of a vacancy of Office not elsewhere provided for in this Constitution, shall appoint Constitutional Officers, military Flag officers, and other inferior managerial and staff officers made by Congress, to take office with the advise and consent of the Senate; such that all terms of appointment and commission, and of election, begin upon the day of Senate consent, certification of election, and upon Oath or Affirmation. Each Person appointed to be twice eligible for appointment of the same Office, except military officers thrice eligible for appointment. So, henceforth, the President, –he, shall appoint Supreme Court Justices; and Judges to the Bench of inferior courts made by Congress, to a term of eleven and nine years, respectively, though not subject to His forbearance. So, the President, -he shall appoint Secretaries, Generals, counselors, chairmen, directors, ad-ministers, and other officers of the Departments to one term concurrent with his own term; but subject to his forbearance as chief-executive. So, the President, -he shall appoint Ambassadors and Consuls to a term of five years, subject to his forbearance as head-of-state; with Senate consent to affirm to Office or recall from Abroad or Office, all these officers of state. So, the President, -he shall appoint to a term of five years, Flag-officers of the military, though these be subject to his forbearance as commander-in-chief, and he may repost or retire military officers by his own initiative.

Each of the several states shall be entitled to three and no more than fifty-three Representatives. Each Representative shall be elected by the citizens of the state such that each citizen shall vote election of two Representatives, one of which shall be elected by the citizens of the whole state and shall be the Spox of the State congressional delegates; the remaining Representatives allotted to the several States per the Census, shall be elected by citizens within a district made by the state legislature. The Representative shall have a term of two years, and be nine times eligible for election, no more than eighteen years. In the event of a vacancy of office, the Governing executive of the State, with consent of the state Legislature, shall appoint a Representative for the remainder of the vacant term, and a Representative elected from one state or district within that state shall Not be elected a Representative by any other of the several states. A majority of all Representatives must be present to constitute a Quorum to do business provided each State shall have one Representative present.

Each Senator shall be elected by the citizens of the whole state; such that each citizen shall vote election of three Senators. Each Senator elected upon bi-annual years. The Senator shall have a term of six years and be thrice eligible for election no more than eighteen years. In the event of a vacancy of Office, the Governing executive of the State, with consent of the state Legislature, shall appoint a Senator for the remainder of the vacant term, and a Senator elected from one state shall Not be elected a Senator by any other of the several states. Each Senators staff shall be provisioned by the State. A majority of all Senators must be present to constitute a Quorum to do business provided each State shall have one Senator present.

The Congress shall meet at least once per year, commencing the third day of January, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, no less than eighty days, nor more than ninety-nine days; the President may waive this provision to call a Special Session, or the Congress may assemble should imminent danger to the Union or to any of the several States will not admit of delay. Upon certifications of election of the new Congress, each Elected shall be sworn or affirmed to office and assume their place. The members of the House of Representatives shall number no more than three times the number of members elected to the Senate.

Upon each decade, in the seventh year, betwixt assembly the second Monday of May and adjournment and disbandment September 17, a Federal Convention shall be convened, presided by the Speaker of the House, who shall have no vote lest they be equally divided. This Body may adjourn for any exigency, or to meet as the House and the Senate in regular session. This Body shall be composed of the Spox of each State and those Senators elected upon the sixth year, and each member shall have one vote. Upon convening, each member shall be sworn or affirmed to office. This Body, upon necessity, shall be empowered to propose and submit to the legislatures of the several States, upon the approval of seventy-six of the members, Constitutional Amendments for ratification- pursuant to petitions for the redress of grievances, received by the President or the Speaker, and being originated by one-tenth of the populations of each of two-fifths of the several States, or pursuant to applications of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States. Further, this Body shall be empowered to review the Constitutionality of all laws, resolves, treaties, and other Acts which shall have been approved by Congress, or ratified by the Senate; and signed by the President; also all executive orders, rules, and regulations, having the force of law pursuant to those Acts; also all judicial reviews, adjudications, and opinions of the Supreme Court or of the inferior courts of the United States. And to introduce, and by simple majority vote, approve bills of statute legislation for corrections, or pursuant to petitions as afore being originated, for the requisite approval or disapproval of the House of Representatives and of the Senate in next regular session. The Convention shall make NO Amendments of effect upon this Constitution as provided hereunto and any other provisions wherein this Body shall deem proper to add hereunto: inclusive of Amendments One through Ten, the Bill of Rights; Article I, Section 7; Article I, Section 8; Article I, Section 9; Article I, Section 10.

I think it was a definitive moment in our history when America could have been turned around from sinking deeper in the abyss of socialism and into a war fought not to win. we still carry scars of Lyndon Johnson both from the war and the "Great Society". Today we face an internal enemy worse than liberalism, we face anarchist Marxists of the home-grown variety. The Obama mystique is nothing more than the proverbial lion in lamb's clothing. This coming election may be our last hope of restoring America. They will not go quietly, they will put people on the streets if necessary to try to intimidate us into backing off. We will be called raciest, phobic, full of hate, and stupid, but this is our time to stand for America, home of the free and the brave.

It's too late unless we end all entitlements, foreign aid, and allow only those who pay taxes and own property to vote. I do not see that ever happening so I see the end of the our individual rights and freedoms. Then I see continued progress into the "New World Order" and complete global governance.

Unfortunately, this Government has been so self induldging in satisfying their individual name maing that they seem to have forgotten exactly who is captain of the ship. It's "We the Peolpe", not Obamaism Socialistic Rules. This Government needs an awaking and 11-2-10 is just the start. The Tea Party, of which I am a very proud member, is becoming very strong and organized. It isn't going away after 11-2-10. The Tea Party will be monitoring every minute of all Government elected individuals and the course of their political agendas. I for one, being a Viet-Nam era Veteran, know the value of Freedom. This administration "CHANGE" isn't what we fought for. Considering the Socialism Program of Implementation and Obama's agenda, millions of Americans see the silent comparison and implementation of these steps leading to complete Socialism. From the "programming of little children in public schools to making it illeagal to own firearms. Of course the constant spending of what we don't have has to come from somewhere. Guess where? Yep, increases in taxes, but in a way that the Government thinks we are stupid for the taxes that are in place probably will not be increased, but they will eliminate the tax benefits on items such as Home Loans, etc. where ever they can place a NEW tax. Look at the "death tax" elimination and what that is going to cost Farmers for one. Believe me, I've had enough. I have already destroyed a TV clicker throwing it at the TV when Pelosi and O'bummer passed that Health Care bill. My wife hides the new one now when ever O'bummer is on TV giving a speech of some kind. By the way, I'm not misspelling his name, it's what it sounds like to me. Make a difference and get involved with the Tea Party meetings in your area.

Leo called it right on the election of 1964... it was a possible turning point, a missed opportunity as were the FDR election of the 1930s-40s.

Paula also nailed it on 9/18. The Founders during the Constitutional Convention of 1787 debated the right of suffrage considering it as it existed in the several states then...and decided to leave that power to define eligibility with the States. After 1865, the central government grabbed this power to define voting rights under cover of the so-called "Reconstruction" amendments and later under the VOTING RIGHTS ACT of 1965. NOW...we have the issue that James Madison wrote about in the 1787 debates. Those with land/property have no protection against the invasion of their rights by the mass of have-nots. The Founders gave us a Republic... and we have lost it. We, the People, allowed FDR and LBJ to convert us to a "democracy" ruled by elites that ignores the essential protections and prohibitions of the Constitution. As Jefferson aptly noted, "A democracy is a government where 51 percent take away the rights of the other 49."

Senator Goldwater summed it up well:

"How did it happen? How did our national government grow from a servant with sharply limited powers into a master with virtually unlimited power? In part, we were swindled. There are occasions when we have elevated men and political parties to power that promised to restore limited government and then proceeded, after their election, to expand the activities of government. But let us be honest with ourselves. Broken promises are not the major causes of our trouble. Kept promises are. All too often we have put men in office who have suggested spending a little more on this, a little more on that, who have proposed a new welfare program, who have thought of another variety of 'security.' On their first day of office, each of our elected leaders and representatives swears allegiance to the Constitution, but for too long many have freely ignored that oath and instead worked to subvert the Constitutional limits on their actions.

While the policies of Obama and his willing minions have thrown our nation into economic chaos, they have at least hastened the day when it will no longer be possible for liberal politicians to pretend even to pay lip service to the Constitution, but will be forced to declare openly their derision for the principles that made America great.

When I served as an officer in the Navy, I too took an oath, but unlike many currently serving in government, I meant it when I swore to support and defend the Constitution. Although I am no longer in uniform, I feel that sacred charge even more keenly today.

The time is fast approaching when each American will have to make the clear choice between a further decline into Marxist feel-goodism and a restoration of limited government of, by, and for the people. When you meet with your fellow Patriots at the Tea Parties and other gatherings of like-minded conservatives, consider reciting this pledge:

"I pledge allegiance to THE CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as originally written and ratified by our nation's founding fathers, and as legally amended by the citizens.

I solemnly swear that I will support and defend THE CONSTITUTION from all enemies, both foreign and especially domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and that I will endeavor to hold accountable those who would subvert or distort its meaning.

I am inspired by your family care and protection with the constitution !

However I do remain puzeled , what constitution are you speaking of ? the U S Constitution or the Federal constitution . Afterall we were only free till 1793 .

The Court had the chance to respond to this remarkable ambiguity in its very first case--Chisholm v. Georgia (1793). On its face, the case was simply a debt dispute that involved the legal standing of "foreigners" (citizens of a different state or country) to sue a state. But the majority's decision turned the case into "the first constitutionally significant case ever decided by the Supreme Court" (Amar, 2005, p. 332). The Court's remarkable, and controversial, decision shifted the case away from the common law tradition, which, until that time, had been the dominant legal force in America, and toward constitutional arguments regarding the dimensions of political representation. This shift carved out for the Court a unique place in debates over the boundaries between the branches of government, national and local affairs, and individual citizens in American society. For these reasons, the decision occupies an early place in America's "high drama of public affairs" (Orth, 1987, p. 19). In short, the Court's response to the legal and political cultures in which it operated would shape the form and content of America's constitutional experiment.

Read the 11th Amen. and compare it with Art.3 Sec. 2 and for further violations of the U S Constitution the judges are trying to get rid of Article 7 . we would not be in this situation today if all the violaters of the U S Constitution would be facing treason charges and suffer the death penalty .
