Bobulinski vs. the Bidens
“If Joe’s conduct and the conduct of his family was fully legal and proper, then why are they so dishonest about it?”
In one sense, Tony Bobulinski’s testimony yesterday before Congress provided little new. Most of us already knew that Joe Biden was “the brand” in the family influence-peddling business and that he was personally involved. In another sense, the fireworks were well worth the price of admission.
For starters, Bobulinski accused two Bidens — Hunter and James — of perjury, which, last we checked, is kind of a big deal. He also called the president “a serial liar and fabulist” who’s under investigation for impeachment.
“If there’s no evidence of corruption here today,” Bobulinski stated, “if Joe’s conduct and the conduct of his family was fully legal and proper, then why are they so dishonest about it? Not just slight misrepresentations of fact but deep untruths about the entire corrupt enterprise.”
Well, Joe Biden does have a lifelong record of lies. Biden’s brother and son are no better.
“Bobulinski cited three examples of alleged perjury from Hunter Biden’s sworn testimony last month,” reports National Review, “accusing Hunter of lying about: the timeline of his business relationship with CEFC, his father’s interactions with his business associates, and the threatening text he sent a Chinese businessman in which he demanded payment and said he was sitting next to his father.”
Either James Biden or Hunter Biden is lying about a May 2017 meeting with business contacts. Hunter says the president’s brother attended that meeting. James says he didn’t. James Biden also testified that he’d never met Bobulinski, contradicting both Bobulinski and Hunter Biden.
As to the larger scheme, “I want to be crystal clear: from my direct personal experience and what I have subsequently come to learn, it is clear to me that Joe Biden was ‘the brand’ being sold by the Biden family,” Bobulinski said. “His family’s foreign influence peddling operation — from China to Ukraine and elsewhere — sold out to foreign actors who were seeking to gain influence and access to Joe Biden and the United States government.”
Another Biden business associate, Jason Galanis, testified while incarcerated for securities fraud, stating that they aimed to make “billions, not millions” from their “work” in China and Russia. “The entire value-add of Hunter Biden to our business,” Galanis testified, “was his family name and his access to his father, Vice President Joe Biden.”
Likewise, James Comer, House Oversight Committee chair, summed it up: “The Bidens don’t sell a product or service or a set of skills. The Bidens sell Joe Biden. That is their business.”
We mentioned fireworks, and that came courtesy of Democrats who tried to discredit Bobulinski, a Navy veteran who is not accused of a crime.
In his opening statement, Bobulinski referenced Congressmen Dan Goldman and Jamie Raskin, who have lied “directly to the American people without hesitation and remorse” on behalf of the Biden family and “will continue to lie today at this hearing and go straight to the media to tell more lies.”
An indignant Raskin interrupted to ask about the rules of decorum for witnesses, as if Democrats cared one whit about decorum.
More entertainment came courtesy of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who surely thought she had a mic-drop moment when she challenged Bobulinski to name the specific crime Joe Biden committed, even though that’s the job of a prosecutor, not a witness.
“Is it your testimony today that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?” she asked. Bobulinski started to answer, but she interrupted him, so he replied simply, “Yes.”
“What crime have you witnessed?” she pushed. “How much time do I have to go through it?” Bobulinski answered.
Rep. AOC asks Tony Bobulinski to list the crimes he witnessed Joe Biden commit.

Tony Bobulinski lists the crimes: corruption statutes, RICO, conspiracy, FARA.
AOC then says RICO is not a crime.🤦

In other words, that was a mic-drop moment for him. She continued to interrupt, talk over, and otherwise hector and cajole Bobulinski so that it would appear he didn’t actually answer her question before going to the default “I reclaim my time” nonsense members pull when they’ve lost the moment.
It was a microcosm of how Democrats have handled this whole thing. Joe Biden clearly lied to the American people repeatedly about his supposed non-involvement in the family influence-peddling business. Based on the evidence, the “Big Guy” profited through his family’s network of 20-some-odd shell companies that took money from foreign countries for what appears to be access to him and the levers of power in DC.
Republicans are investigating this in an impeachment inquiry and finding evidence of wrongdoing. Yet Democrats scream about how there’s “no evidence” and “no crime” and that Republicans are just making it up.
Joe Biden is free to and will be invited to testify on his own behalf, Comer noted.
Is what Joe Biden did impeachable? We suppose that is still up for debate. But one thing we do know: The Biden family is deeply dishonest and corrupt, and if the American people had known, as opposed to being kept in the dark by a complicit wagon-circling media, they wouldn’t have elected Basement Joe in 2020.
