Obama Throws Intelligence Under the Bus
The U.S. intelligence community is now sporting the tread marks of the Obama-Mobile after the commander in chief said they “underestimated” the rise of the Islamic State. In a CBS “60 Minutes” interview, Barack Obama said it’s “absolutely true” that U.S. intelligence “underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.” He admitted al-Qaida in Iraq “went back underground” until chaos gave them a chance to “reconstitute themselves” – and we missed it. This blame game is yet another pathetic political dodge by the president. He is the one who repeated the 2012 campaign fairytale that al-Qaida was “decimated,” despite the large intelligence haul from the bin Laden raid indicating otherwise. He is the one essentially seeking a mulligan on his failed policy of fleeing Iraq. Yet the pathological narcissist in the Oval Office is telling us it’s really the fault of U.S. intelligence.
