Re: The National ‘Happiness Deficit’

“As a senior military officer, I am deeply concerned every day about our current civilian leadership and the impact their social experiments have had on our military readiness. I have more than 10,000 young service personnel under my command, and we have a serious top-to-bottom morale problem. I carry a heavy burden for these young people, and it was a tonic for my soul to read Alexander’s message. It is easy to forget how much goodness there is across our nation when inundated every day with the Beltway sludge. Thank you, Patriot Post, and keep your heads high!” —Virginia

“Thank you, Mr. Alexander, for the happiness you and your team bring to us daily. God bless you and the whole ‘troop’ you lead, and those blessed ones on your home fronts. Happiness is remembering that God is in control.” —Texas

“This was just the reminder I needed to reset my perspective. Thank you.” —Vermont

Re: South Carolina Women and ‘Women’

“I’m shocked by the irony of a coach that achieved an amazing milestone in college women’s basketball not having the confidence and courage to stand up and protect women in sports. Provides strong evidence of the extent of woke gender disorder’s absurd and disproportionate influence over truth and common sense.” —Florida

“Shame on Dawn Staley. Like many women of the Left, they talk the talk but don’t walk the walk, afraid to admit there are only two genders, male and female. Period! She was afraid of the verbal trashing the psychotic Left would have subjected her to had she spoken the truth. In the wake of gutless women like Dawn will be the broken spirits and bodies of female athletes trying to compete against male perverts!” —Washington

Re: Blaming Consumers for Inflation

“The problem is that any reliance on ‘hard economic data’ is meaningless when the data is false, as it has been ever since the costs of food, energy, and housing were purposely omitted from the Consumer Price Index. These costs are not only relatively price-inelastic (meaning that people cannot choose to spend much less on them when their prices rise), but they account for the majority of most Americans’ cost of living. Wasn’t it Mark Twain who said that there are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics?” —Arizona

Re: Biden and Trump Battle Over the Deep State

“Bureaucracy that has taken the power to thwart elected officials is the greatest threat to free republics. At that point it tends to be low-quality — sloth, corruption, and retaliation against reformers are common. We see that in the American deep state. Fortunately, we the people have our own weapon. The Tenth Amendment is our chainsaw to cut the overgrown federal government down to size. Unfortunately, even though every citizen is harmed when our right to a limited federal government is violated, it is difficult to persuade courts to grant standing to sue. I had the opportunity to point this out in person to my representative and asked him to bring up a bill clarifying that any citizen has that standing. Please ask yours to do the same.” —Minnesota

Re: Biden Is Generous With Other People’s Money

“How is the Biden administration’s attempt to buy the votes of student loan debtors not contempt of court, given that the court already told the administration it can’t cancel or reduce student loans without statutory authority from Congress? Congress should do two things: one, censure the administration for this blatant violation of the Constitution, and two, since the administration seemingly believes the student loan fund has so much money to give away, repeal any new appropriation for that fund. It’s an ancient principle of parenting applied to people in their second childhood: when the toy is used in an abusive manner, take away the toy.” —Minnesota

Re: Disparate Impact Is Wrecking Us

“I so appreciate the truth in this article. The heartbreaking part of working with inner-city residents is that they have not been encouraged to strive for more or better. Many, in fact, are told they can’t accomplish great things. I believe it is more of a cultural issue than anyone would believe. The inner-city schools do nothing to encourage excellence or improving one’s self. In fact, they give them excuse after excuse to do nothing.” —Wisconsin

“Mac Donald’s essay is right on. It should be required reading for every voter before they can vote. Once and for all, it explains the mess we are in (seeing incompetent persons appointed to positions for which they are blatantly unqualified) and how we got to this sorry point. It is no wonder that airline pilots are causing mid-air near misses, Amtrak trains are being wrecked, and God knows how many unfortunate souls have undergone surgery performed by a mediocre DEI ‘doctor.’” —Pennsylvania

Re: Squatting in New York

“Every state has laws about squatters. They are all different. The common law rule, which was adopted from English law in this country, is that a squatter may be removed when he is given legal notice. Then, after a certain number of days, if the squatter does not move out, the sheriff takes over and kicks him out (the eviction process). It is called protection of private property rights. What is mine is mine and definitely not yours. Another method of removal was practiced in the Wild West. The incentive was at the end of a gun barrel.” —Massachusetts

Re: Navy Maintenance Challenges: Part 1

“On a 1979 WESTPAC deployment, the USS Ranger (CV-61) collided with a civilian oil tanker near Singapore, with significant damage to the ships bow. Instead of sailing for the Indian Ocean, as was originally intended, the ship returned to Subic Bay in the Philippines for temporary repairs. The USS Ranger completed a ‘normal’ WESTPAC cruise, then sailed for the shipyards in Yokosuka, Japan, to have an entirely new bow installed. The time it took to get the new bow in place was two weeks in drydock. She then sailed home to San Diego. I know this; I was with her Air Wing.” —Washington

Re: Profiles of Valor: Chuck Yeager

“As a career Marine fighter pilot, I very much appreciate this extraordinary profile of an extraordinary Air Force fighter pilot and genuine hero. Thank you, Patriot Post, for constantly reminding us of not only the threats to Liberty but what is good and right about our country.” —California

“Chuck Yeager understood that bravery doesn’t mean you aren’t scared. It means you go anyway.” —Minnesota
