A quick Google news search for the most recent story on a media pronouncement from Dr. Anthony Fauci yields an article from three weeks ago. It features Fauci conceding, in the midst of multiple Democrat-run states finally easing up and ending their COVID-related restrictions, that the country could be “inching” back to normality … but not too fast.

“There is no perfect solution to this,” he stated. “The fact that the world and the United States and particularly certain parts of the United States are just up to here with COVID — they really need to somehow get their life back. You don’t want to be reckless and throw everything aside, but you’ve got to start inching towards that.” Well, thanks for your permission.

The fact of the matter is that most Republican-run states have been well ahead of the curve (most for 18 months or more), challenging the notion that any of Fauci’s flip-flopping declarations did anything to prevent or even slow COVID.

Well, the American people finally had enough, and many Republican states as well as several countries around the world were proof that living without COVID restrictions was not any worse regarding the spread of the novel virus than living with them. Furthermore, it became blatantly clear that politics, not science, was the driving force behind COVID restrictions.

What may have proven to be the final straw against the COVID Karens were the freedom-loving Canadians protesting Justin Trudeau’s ill-advised vaccine mandates. That was moving enough, but then there was his subsequent authoritarian crackdown on these peaceful protests — even freezing bank accounts — that drew ire and condemnation from free nations around the globe. Trudeau may have exposed more than any other politician the real authoritarian motive behind the COVID mandates.

So, back to Anthony Fauci. Where has he gone? He was conspicuously absent from Joe Biden’s recent and entirely mask-free State of the Union Address. Fauci is arguably the most public face of Washington’s response to the pandemic, and yet as the COVID restrictions quickly fall away, he is seemingly nowhere to be found. It may be that for the majority of the American public, the worm has turned on Fauci.

Apparently the political science has changed and Democrats have exiled Fauci.
