Re: “Tuesday Executive News Summary

“‘He will recall Title 42. He will help us have real asylum.’ Umm, no. ‘Real asylum,’ as defined under international law, would preclude crossing several intervening countries. When you’re fleeing danger, you don’t get to pick and choose which nation you go to for refuge; you have a right to apply for asylum only in the first nation that poses no danger. Of course, their failure to do so exposes the fact that for the vast majority of illegal aliens, the real reasons for immigrating are economic, not political. Guatemalans, Hondurans, and others crossing Mexico may be entitled to asylum in that nation, but unless they arrived in the United States via a direct flight or boat trip, they’re asking for a courtesy, not a right.” —Georgia

Re: “Are We on the Verge of a Food Crisis?

“I noticed while shopping at a local supermarket that all the beef they had on hand was labeled as imported. It was from Canada. Not an ounce of U.S. beef to be seen. Ranchers have downsized their herds due to a lack of hay and the high cost if they have to buy it. One rancher I know sold off his entire herd. Cattle are vegans, and if you can’t afford (or grow enough of) the hay to feed them, what makes you think you will be able to afford simple vegetables to feed yourself? The drought is affecting the food chain, but so is supply chain issues and government mismanagement. Get ready for a rough ride, folks. The ‘Hunger Games’ may get real.” —Washington

Re: “What’s She Yellen About Inflation?

“If one hadn’t realized Janet Yellen was an incompetent fool after her four years as Fed chair, they probably believe she’s doing a great job promoting two uneconomical energy strategies, wind and solar, which only survive because of government handouts. I’m surprised she didn’t mention how we all should be driving electric cars, which are also uneconomical and which our electric grid can’t support in the numbers envisioned.” —Washington

Re: “Biden and His Demos Unleashed a Record Surge in Mass Violence

“A gun, any gun, is a marvelous machine. It is carefully designed and constructed, capable of surviving enormous stresses and brutal mishandling. In some cases, it is a work of art. Its sole function is to eject a small piece of metal at a very high speed. In the right hands, it is capable of providing food for the hungry, freedom for the oppressed, protection for the threatened, and it can kill those who need killing. In the wrong hands, it can tragically end the lives of innocent people. It earns no love and deserves no hate. It has no soul, no will, no consciousness. It is a tool only; a thing inanimate. Nothing less or more. It functions at the will of its holder and is completely reflective of the quality of the character of that holder.” —Missouri

“It is not the police that see a threat; it is the astute nature of protective adults. Always be ready, like the fire extinguisher that hangs on the wall just in case you need it. Take away that extinguisher and you have the school house mayhem.” —Oregon

Re: “Hollywood Hypocrites for Gun Control

“Gaslighting: what control advocates are doing when they conclude that the occurrence of a mass murder via a firearm is evidence of a lack of gun control laws. This crime has nothing to do with a lack of laws but has everything to do with an absence of morals and/or the failure of law enforcement. No one knows how well current laws work to prevent these crimes. We never have evidence that more mass shooter events would have occurred without current laws. There are no reports of mass shooter events that never occurred. In Uvalde, it seems many layers of prevention and protection failed. This event was not inevitable. We should be able to protect children as effectively as we protect air travelers.” —Missouri

“The AR-15 is likely the weapon of choice in these mass killings at lease in part because of their ubiquity. It is easily the favorite style of sporting rifle and has been for many years. If you are a gun owner, you probably own one. So, logically, if you are going to perpetrate a shooting in the heat of anger, you are probably going to reach for the first weapon available — which, because they are everywhere, is very likely an AR-15. In short, the AR is not purchased for the purpose of perpetrating mass killings. It is purchased because it is very popular.” —Texas

Re: “Leftist Criminal Philosophy Isn’t Justice

“It’s coming up on voting season and I would like to see a list of Soros-backed district attorneys. Why not? If these people believe that ‘soft on crime’ is the way to go, they should stand up and be proud to take his money and brag to the people of their beliefs. Are we forever forced to vote on individuals that we know so little about and whose backgrounds and beliefs are hidden from us by their parties or media? Back in the ‘50s and '60s, I read the Akron Beacon Journal that at the time gave enough info for voters to 'know’ the candidates. Now, with all the info on the Internet, we are left in the dark on this most important info.” —Nevada

Re: “So, Who’s to Blame?

“I disagree with your statement that ‘we’ brought the moral decline on ourselves. Millions of Christians have fought against this moral decline for decades! The destruction of our public morality has been forced on our society by God-hating Marxist politicians and jurists who have taken every opportunity to expunge The Almighty from our civil society. Much of the blame for the decline is the result of SCOTUS rulings. It was SCOTUS that ruled displaying the Ten Commandments is illegal; that prayer in school is illegal; that displaying the cross and even the Holy Bible on government property is illegal; that Nativity displays are illegal; and that God’s definition of marriage is illegal.” —California
