The Patriot Post® · Hypocrisy Alert: Facebook's Record Fine for Transparency Violations
There are two perilous threats to “free and fair elections,” and the scope of both is unprecedented in U.S. history.
The first is the Demos’ so-called “voter rights” push, a strategy to codify their bulk-mail ballot fraud plans nationally. While Donald Trump and others focused on lesser voting irregularities in 2020, the 600lb gorilla in the room is legalizing the counting of bulk-mail ballots without sufficiently authenticating who is actually casting those ballots.
The second — less visible but much more invasive and insidious in terms of compromising elections — is the systemic “redlining” of free speech by BIG Tech companies and their Leftmedia collaborators. A now thoroughly exposed example of such manipulation was the collusion between Joe Biden’s handlers in the Democrat Party and both social and mass media giants a month before the 2020 election to completely blackout the now-verified Hunter Biden laptop information exposing Joe’s pay-to-play scheme with the Red Chinese.
We now know that Mark Zuckerberg, DBA “Meta,” which owns Facebook and Instagram, coordinated with the feds to suppress information unfavorable to Biden in 2020, and since then coordinated with the Biden administration to continue this suppression.
The Wall Street Journal has documented Facebook’s politically motivated effort to silence conservative voices, but your Patriot Post team has tracked it firsthand. After 25 years of year-over-year growth, which increased dramatically as a result of posting our content on social media platforms since 2010, The Patriot Post’s incoming traffic from Facebook began to drop precipitously in June of 2020. In fact, in a matter of months, it dropped 95% — the direct result of shadowbanning and suppression of our reach, ostensibly justified by ratings for our site from Facebook and other leftist media platforms. They have censored our verifiably factual content using their spurious so-called “fact-checks,” under the auspices of “transparency.” Of course, it is the “fact-checkers” who need to be checked.
This week, in a little-noticed turnabout that is epic in the annals of hypocrisy, Meta/Facebook was fined a record $24.7M for campaign finance disclosure violations by a judge in just one state, Washington. Judge Douglass North issued a ruling fining Meta the maximum allowed penalties for more than 800 violations of Washington’s Fair Campaign Practices Act. That’s right. The world’s most prolific speech suppression platform is being fined for its lack of transparency.
Meta/Facebook has repeatedly objected to the transparency requirements, arguing unsuccessfully in prior cases that the Washington state law is unconstitutional because it “unduly burdens political speech.” Got that? They are complaining about undue “burdens on political speech.” In what amounts to a battle of leftist titans, according to Washington’s Attorney General Bob Ferguson: “I have one word for Facebook’s conduct in this case — arrogance. It intentionally disregarded Washington’s election transparency laws. But that wasn’t enough. Facebook argued in court that those laws should be declared unconstitutional. That’s breathtaking.”
Writing a check for $25 million is chump change for Zuckerberg, but exposing his abject hypocrisy is priceless.
Recall that in 2020, Zuckerberg “donated” hundreds of millions of dollars to leftist “get out the vote” groups supporting Biden and his Demos. More than $350 million went to the so-called Center for Tech and Civic Life, a leftist front which successfully pushed states and municipalities to adopt the Democrats’ bulk-mail ballot fraud scheme. And the largest Zuckerbuck grants – more than $270 million – went to voter jurisdictions that Demos dominated. That, and the fact Zuckerberg put his finger on social media scales suppressing conservative speech, was a major factor in victories by Biden and his congressional cadres.
While California-based Meta execs were silent on the ruling, their stock shares plummeted 25% after 3rd quarter revenue plunged 52% to a multi-year low. That is a decline in the last 12 months of almost 80% of its market capitalization. And given poor 4th quarter estimates, the stock may close this calendar year down more than 60%. That really impacts Zuckerberg’s bottom line, but won’t change his lifestyle or political shenanigans one bit.
Some readers have suggested we just ignore Facebook and move to other social media platforms. The Patriot Post is present on all social media platforms, but this mass-scale suppression of free speech can’t be ignored. Similarly, we noted earlier this week that the search engine/email giant Google not only suppressed the Republican National Committee’s email fundraising efforts, but has now been caught suppressing search engine returns for Republican candidates.
It is not enough to “just use a different search engine.” The systemic suppression of free speech by these platforms is a violation of fundamental civil rights, and must be exposed and terminated. It appears that new Twitter owner Elon Musk is on track to correct some of that platform’s gross speech suppression efforts.
The coming Republican Congress better wake up to this massive threat to its political future and start taking action to correct the wholesale redlining of free speech by the Leftmedia and its BIG Tech collaborators. This is the most perilous obstacle to public information regarding conservative candidates and causes, and thus, “free and fair elections,” yet Republicans have done next to nothing to tear down this gauntlet.
(Update Days after the 2022 midterm election was safely in the bag for Demos, Facebook notified us that they were revoking their speech suppression restrictions against The Patriot Post. Given that Meta’s equity value is hemorrhaging and Mark Zuckerberg now laying off over 11,000 employees, and in the shadow of Elon Musk’s takeover of the Twitter platform promising an end to suppression of free speech, the official response we received after two years of shadow-banning our content: “We determined that access to advertising was incorrectly restricted. Your Business Account’s ads, shops and other assets that were affected will return to their previous status. We apologize for the inconvenience.” In other words, our ability to, once again, expanding the reach of our content, was restored. Must just be coincidence…)
