Throughout history, those with the most extreme views have generally run dictatorships or heavily tyrannical governments. They stop at nothing to accomplish their political ambitions or goals, even resorting to political violence.

The Democrat Party is beginning to embrace this hallmark, not least because of its increasing Trump Derangement Syndrome.

A poll recently released by the Liberal Currents magazine asked registered Democrats a few unsavory questions. First, they polled five routes for President Donald Trump to leave office before the end of his term.

  • 87% would be happy with Trump being impeached and convicted by Congress
  • 84% would be happy with Trump being declared unfit by his cabinet and removed from office
  • 55% would be very happy with Trump dying in his sleep
  • 59% would be very happy with the military staging a coup and removing Trump from power and taking control
  • 32% would be very happy with Trump being assassinated

So a large chunk of Democrats really want President Trump to die, with many wanting him to die maliciously. That’s pretty evil. On top of that, nearly 60% want to stage a military coup against a democratically elected president in the name of “safeguarding the Constitution.”

This poll wasn’t even limited to the most extreme leftists in the world. In the same poll, a different question asking who they would choose as their presidential nominee produced some fairly mainstream results: Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, and Pete Buttigieg. The Democratic Socialists of America’s best candidate, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, finished sixth, and wasn’t close to the leaders. Even so, that shows extremists are no longer limited to the party’s dark corners. Radical Democrats are the majority now.

A new YouGov poll asked a population about whether political violence is justified. Those marked very conservative, conservative, and moderate all had well under 10% say that political violence is justified. The liberal and very liberal categories had shares of 17% and 25% that thought political violence is perfectly justified.

We’ve seen this literally bleed out into practice. At least five people have tried to kill President Trump, with one being very close to succeeding. Charlie Kirk was assassinated for nothing more than engaging in civil discourse in front of college students.

It all comes from the same sources, too. This politically charged violence has been perpetrated by indoctrinated Marxists, radical Islamists, or gender-confused insane people. As Monty Python member John Cleese noted nearly 40 years ago, all of these extreme groups have a common enemy: the moderates.

“Moderates,” in this case, no longer refers to those in the middle of the American political spectrum but to those who trust our institutions and governmental systems, regardless of platform. Unfortunately, we have fallen so far in this ideological battle that one major political party refuses, time and time again, to respect our electoral system, our houses of government, and lastly our Constitution. They seek to mangle it beyond recognition, and when that fails, they will aim to destroy it.

Historically, this is how every violent, extremist, authoritarian government starts: by one side alienating its own camp from the other, leaving violence as the only answer. That is how great nations die. Anyone who has looked into the depths of history has seen it, and now it seems the United States of America has reached its early stages.

It started with the Left labeling virtually every prominent conservative in Washington as a fascist or Nazi. They were letting the hateful vitriol fly like candy. For Republicans or neutral observers, those words typically come across as white noise. But for supporters of the Left, it causes them to see the opposite side politically as dangerous criminals rather than people who disagree but have the well-being of the nation in mind. The natural end is thinking that violence against the other side is perfectly acceptable.

This extremist ideology has proven time and time again to be harmful to this country, yet it has successfully infected the Democrat Party. It has caused much undue pain and suffering and is fundamentally destructive to all that we hold dear about this nation, and it must be stopped.
