Re: “President ‘UNITY™!’ to Rescue the Soul of America!”
Biden’s inflammatory speech was not directed at MAGA Republicans. It was aimed squarely at those Democrats who are not on board with his destructive policies and rhetoric. The message was clear: If, like over a million Democrats in 2021, you leave the Democrat Party and register as a Republican, you are going straight to cultural hell and will deserve the systemic bullying, derision, erasure, and assault on your liberties especially reserved for MAGA Republicans. You will not be spared. You will be treated as a traitor. To those on the fence, if you are not a Democrat, you are not an American. —South Carolina
“… against a backdrop of two Marines standing at attention,” claimed CNN correspondent Jeff Zeleny. The two Marines were also described as “standing at attention” by Bret Baier and as “Marine officers” by Tammy Bruce. Actually, they must have been enlisted Marine props from central casting, as they were standing at a perversion of “parade rest” with their hands one on top of the other over their belt buckles. —Colorado
Mark Alexander responds: The Marines ordered to stand behind Biden were not at “attention” or “parade rest,” as the media keeps insisting. In fact, their position is not one recognized by the Marine Drill and Ceremonies Manual. However, the Marine Barracks at 8th and I Street has some non-standard ceremonial positions, and I am thinking this one is called “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.”
Biden and the Democrats are the “party of unity” in the same way that radical Islam is the “religion of peace”: both are contingent on your submission. Until you submit, you are the enemy of unity and peace. —Georgia
Re: “Biden’s Racist ‘Equity’ Agenda Is All Around Us”
The “equality” promised by the Constitution means “equality of opportunity.” It does not mean “equal outcome regardless of input.” That is a socialist concept. This equity business is going to flood the nation with incompetent, quota-hire doctors, engineers, airline pilots … the list goes on. And many unknowing, trusting lives will be lost. —Pennsylvania
Re: “Should Federal Bureaucrats Be Term-Limited?”
I doubt this approach would work without other complementary actions, such as regularly scheduled reviews of the ongoing need for many offices and functions created by Congress and sunsetting all functions no longer needed. Many such offices have been created and staffed over time based on political “whim” or perceived “public need” and related bogus premises. Many can be traced to fulfilling various campaign promises designed to throw taxpayer dollars and human resources at “problems” that don’t really exist. —North Carolina
Re: “Dems and Their Teachers Union Pals Wrecked Our Kids”
Teachers/unions have been a problem for years and years. They don’t want standardized testing because it highlights the lack of progress their students are making. They push liberal thinking. Good teachers are pushed out because it makes the bad teachers stand out. We need to push and help charter schools, which perform better than most public schools. Extend school hours/calendar and focus on the basics. No politics, no grooming, no woke thinking, no CRT, and no focus on pronouns of gender identity. —Georgia
