During an appearance on Fox & Friends this morning, President Trump broke the news that Charlie Kirk’s assassin had been captured and was in police custody. Later, Utah Governor Spencer Cox, FBI Director Kash Patel, and other law enforcement officials held a press conference and provided additional details. Here’s what we know:

• The assassin is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

• Robinson’s father, a retired law enforcement officer, recognized his son after additional pictures were released last night. Robinson confessed to murdering Charlie Kirk when his father confronted him.

• Robinson initially refused to turn himself in and threatened to kill himself. His father convinced him to speak with their youth minister. It turns out that the youth minister has a second job. He’s an officer with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, and he called the FBI.

• Authorities interviewed the family and learned that Robinson had become radicalized in his political views, knew Charlie Kirk was coming to Utah Valley University, and hated Kirk’s conservative Christian worldview, which he thought was “fascist.”

• Police also interviewed Robinson’s roommate, who shared online messages Robinson had written about the rifle, where he left it, and engraving the bullet casings.

• On the inscriptions on the bullet casings were: “Notices bulges, OWO, what’s this?” “Hey fascist! Catch!” “O bella ciao bella ciao bella ciao ciao ciao” and “If you read this, you are gay LMAO.” The writing refers to bizarre elements of LGBTQ subculture and opposition to European fascism.

In response to a reporter’s question, the governor said there is no information indicating there will be additional arrests, but the investigation is ongoing.

An Attack On Us

In his remarks, Governor Cox explained why this case matters so much. He said:

“This is certainly about the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. But it is also much bigger than an attack on an individual. It is an attack on all of us. It is an attack on the American experiment. It is an attack on our ideals…

"Political violence is different than any other type of violence… because in the very act that Charlie championed—freedom of expression that is enshrined in our founding documents—having his life taken in that very act makes it more difficult for people to feel like they can share their ideas, that they can speak freely.

"We will never be able to solve all the other problems if we can’t have a clash of ideas safely and securely, especially those ideas with which you disagree. That’s why this matters so much.”

The Fascist Left

In closing his remarks, Gov. Cox quoted Charlie Kirk’s words, “When people stop talking, that’s when you get violence.”

As we have repeatedly argued, it’s the intolerant Left, not the Right, that is threatening free speech, censoring speech, and trying to shut down debate. Charlie Kirk’s murder is just the latest example of the fascist impulses of the radical Left.

There is only one political entity in the United States that has been promoting the libel, the smears, the lies—I can’t come up with words strong enough—that normal conservative beliefs are fascism.

That entity is the modern Democrat Party and its radical allies. Throughout “Nice Guy” Joe Biden’s entire presidency, Biden, Democrats, and the Left relentlessly smeared Donald Trump and conservatives as fascists.

Loving God and America, believing the world is divided between two genders (male and female), believing, as our Founding Fathers did, that liberty comes from God, not government, and believing in the sanctity of life, secure borders, and fair elections—none of that is fascism.

We have written over and over and over that constantly telling people their conservative neighbors are fascists and Nazis will only inspire deranged leftists to commit acts of violence. After all, what do you do with evil people like Nazis? You kill them. And now the Left has created assassins and murderers.

Leftists tried to kill Donald Trump. They tried to kill Justice Kavanaugh. They did kill Charlie Kirk.

We must get poisonous Marxist ideologies out of our society and bring back common sense. I believe that starts with men and women of faith rising up as engaged Christian citizens, confronting this evil, and reclaiming our country.

Yes, of course, we must pray. But we must also act!

Don’t Watch

Extremely graphic videos of Kirk’s assassination are all over social media and the internet. Many are being shared by hateful leftists. (See next item.) Don’t watch them.

On Fox & Friends this morning, Donald Trump said he deliberately did not watch the video of Charlie’s assassination. Trump said:

“I didn’t watch. I heard about it… I would have never made a good doctor, let me put it that way. I mean, I heard enough. I didn’t want to watch it… I didn’t want to remember Charlie that way.”

President Trump is right. Charlie deserves to be remembered as a loving husband and father, for the tremendous impact he made, and for his strong faith in Jesus.

If you have a child or grandchild who is watching this video, tell them to stop. It’s not good for them. If they haven’t seen the video, tell them not to watch it.

Left-wing Hate

More and more disgusting examples of so-called “progressives” celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder are being exposed. Not surprisingly, many are coming from left-wing teachers and professors, who no doubt hated Charlie for threatening their ideological grip over so many students.

By the way, the notion that education overcomes bias is blatantly false. One study found that the more highly educated someone is, the more likely they are to be antisemitic. That’s not surprising given the rampant antisemitism on our college campuses, much of it coming from faculty and staff members.

As vile as these random posts are, others are extremely disturbing. Especially when the messages urge even more assassinations and come from ghouls in the government, from members of the military, and even from the Secret Service.

Good News

• The Second Circuit Court of Appeals ordered Vermont to lift its ban on a Christian school from competing in state athletic competitions after it refused to accept the state’s radical transgender policies. This is an important victory for religious liberty.

• A federal judge ruled that cities are not constitutionally required to fly LGBTQ pride flags.

• A Michigan judge dismissed the Left’s lawfare against alternate 2020 Trump electors.

• Holly Paz, a top IRS official who targeted conservatives, has been fired.

• Cracker Barrel has totally abandoned the radical makeover of its iconic restaurants in the face of overwhelming customer outrage.
