The annual lighting of the National Christmas Tree took place Thursday night in Washington, D.C. I hope you watched it. If not, I encourage you to do so. It was inspirational.

With each passing year that Donald Trump has been president of the United States, from his first term to now, he has become an increasingly bold and direct defender of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. More so than any president in our lifetimes, if not all of American history. This is what President Trump said Thursday night on nationwide TV about the birth of Christ:

“During this holy season, Christians everywhere rejoice at the miracle in Bethlehem, more than 2,000 years ago, when the Son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, came down from heaven to be with us. Full of grace and truth, He brought the gift of God’s love into the world and the promise of salvation for every person and every nation.

"Tonight, this beautiful evergreen tree glows bright on the dark and cold winter night and reminds us of the words of the Gospel of John: ‘In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.’

"With the birth of Jesus, human history turned from night to day. His Word and His example call us to love one another, to serve one another, and to honor the sacred truth that every child is specially made in the image of God.”

“America has stood tall, in part, because millions of our citizens have heeded that call in their faith—and the service of Christians has been an essential part of America’s strength from the very, very beginning.”

A Striking Contrast

This was not the “civic religion” rhetoric of most politicians. This was the pure Gospel. Over the years, some progressive Christians, like David French and Russell Moore, went so far as to say that Christians should vote for Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris before they vote for someone like Donald Trump.

As time passed, they became more progressive/socialist than Christian, while Trump has become more boldly Christian. This president does not hesitate to use his “platform” to clearly present the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Don’t miss the striking contrast.

Democrat presidents won’t even mention God when they quote the Declaration of Independence and issue Thanksgiving Day proclamations. They even ignore Jesus on Christmas.

Atheists and agnostics overwhelmingly choose the Democrat Party as their home. The Democrat base believes in abortion, essentially child sacrifice on demand. They believe the Bible is a book of myths and legends. They believe there are dozens of genders.

Whenever they have power, they try to restrict Christian religious liberty. During COVID, leftist politicians shut down our churches while they allowed abortion clinics to remain open. Meanwhile, they promote nonstop Muslim immigration, making America less Christian every year.

No Christian who believes in the Gospel of Jesus Christ should be confused about which side to be on in this great battle over whether America will remain a nation built on the idea that liberty comes from God.

What Bible Are They Reading?

Sadly, some progressive churches overlook everything on the sanctity of life, the family, free speech, and religious liberty—all things key to the Gospel—and they try to turn Jesus Christ into Karl Marx.

They support progressive candidates because they want to redistribute wealth. That’s not in the Bible. Nothing in the Bible urges government to redistribute wealth. In fact, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not steal.”

There is nothing in the Bible that says a Christian nation must allow anyone and everyone to walk into their country because Jesus loves everyone. Nothing in the Bible supports open borders and uncontrolled mass migration. That would make Christianity a suicide pact, as much of Europe is discovering.

I don’t know what Bible these “progressive Christians” are reading. One female Presbyterian pastor declared from her pulpit that she “felt God’s presence with me as I made the decision to end two pregnancies.” I have news for her—that wasn’t God’s presence.

More recently, a Methodist minister announced during his sermon that he’s finally going to tell the truth from the pulpit. He claimed that while he was assigned the gender of male at birth, he always knew he was a she. In the future, he will be preaching in a dress.

A vestment does not a Christian make.

Trump Honors The Fallen

President Trump took a moment during his remarks at the National Christmas Tree lighting to honor the two National Guardsmen who were shot in Washington, D.C., by a radical Islamist, who should not have been in America. Sarah Beckstrom died from her wounds. Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Thursday, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump met with Andrew’s family at the White House. The president praised the Wolfe family as “fantastic American patriots.”

He has also invited the Beckstrom family to the White House when they are ready to attend.

Media Malfeasance

CNN’s Jake Tapper caused a lot of confusion last night. He told us that the Trump administration had arrested a 30-year-old white man as the suspect in the January 6th pipe bomb case.

Whoops! The suspect, Brian Cole, Jr., is in fact a Black man.

New reporting indicates that Cole worked for his father’s bail bonds company. Part of their business involved helping illegal aliens get bail. The company sued the first Trump administration over immigration policy. They lost the lawsuit just a few weeks before January 6th.

During the search of Cole’s home, law enforcement authorities discovered that he was still making pipe bombs. Was his family really clueless?

I wouldn’t be surprised if, before this is all over, they try to turn Cole into a Trump supporter. But if there was any evidence he was a Trump supporter, there is no way the Biden FBI would have dropped the case, given how aggressively they went after grandmothers who prayed in the Capitol Building.

Here’s an example of just how shameless Democrats have become. Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) actually tried to blame the Trump administration for taking too long to track Cole down.

After blasting the administration’s focus on immigration enforcement, Warner said, “How much earlier could we have caught this guy if resources hadn’t been diverted?”

Really?

These bombs were planted in January 2021. Joe Biden was president for four years, and his FBI couldn’t find him and shut the investigation down. Trump’s FBI reopened the investigation and, with no new information, caught him in less than a year.

No Apologies

Admiral Frank Bradley briefed members of Congress Thursday on the “double tap” drug boat strike that Democrats are claiming is a “war crime.” Admiral Bradley told the congressmen that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth did not issue a “kill them all” order, as the Washington Post claimed—a lie that triggered this entire controversy.

So, are any of these Democrats going to retract their statements and apologize to Hegseth and the American people for jumping to conclusions? Of course not.

Hegseth and the Trump administration are not apologizing either. In true Trumpian fashion, while the admiral was dragged away from his important job, the administration took out another drug boat.

No other Republican administration would have dared to do that. They would have said, “We’d better lay off this for a few weeks until the controversy dies down.”

Somali Swindlers

The massive fraud investigation involving Minnesota’s Somali community has already identified $1 billion in stolen taxpayer funds. According to the U.S. attorney leading the investigation, that may be “just the tip of the iceberg.”

Many billions of your tax dollars may have been stolen. Some reports indicate that “approximately 40% of households in Somalia” receive remittances (payments) from overseas. In 2023, $1.7 billion was sent to the country through remittances—a figure greater than the Somali government’s budget.

Some of this stolen taxpayer money ended up funding foreign terrorists. And some, of course, ended up funding Democrat politicians in Minnesota.

This should totally end Tim Walz’s political career. He was too busy putting tampons in boys’ bathrooms to stop the theft of taxpayer money that was occurring at Ripley’s Believe It or Not levels, even after he was told about it.

This is what socialism inevitably turns into. It is the transfer of wealth from productive people to other more favored classes that the government thinks should have that wealth instead. It literally steals from the people.

Good News

• The Supreme Court will allow Texas to use newly redrawn congressional maps in the 2026 elections.

• The Trump administration is moving aggressively to ensure that illegal aliens are not receiving taxpayer-funded benefits, including food stamps and tax credits.

• The Trump Justice Department is suing six more Blue states to force them to clean up their voter rolls. That makes 26 states where the Trump administration is taking action to ensure the integrity of our elections.

• Northwestern University is paying a $75 million fine for failing to protect its Jewish students. Unlike Joe Biden, President Trump is serious about combating antisemitism and making institutions that tolerate it pay a heavy price.

• AT&T joins the growing list of businesses that are dumping divisive and discriminatory DEI policies.
