Congressman Eric Swalwell’s fall from grace has been dramatic. He first rose to national prominence more than a decade ago when he defeated powerful incumbent Democrat Pete Stark in the primary for California’s 15th Congressional District.

Seven years later, he ran for president of the United States. A week ago, he was a leading candidate for governor of California. Tuesday, he resigned in disgrace.
 
Swalwell is a creature of today’s power-hungry Democrat Party. He was one of the party’s favorite and effective attack dogs. He apparently acted like an attack dog when he was with vulnerable women, too.
 
Over the years, Nancy Pelosi was his patron and protector. There was nothing he could say or do that was beyond the pale. They unleashed him whenever they wanted to bloody a conservative. In fact, Pelosi named him as one of the House managers for President Trump’s second impeachment trial in 2021.
 
But one of the biggest chapters in his life is barely being mentioned by the media today. Congressman Swalwell had an affair with a communist Chinese spy named Fang Fang. There were serious concerns he had been compromised by Beijing.
 
Even after she fled to communist China, Nancy Pelosi fought to keep Swalwell on the House Intelligence Committee. Why? Because the most important thing for the Left is power. Their quest for power comes before everything, including the national security interests of the United States. (See next item.)
 
But Swalwell’s insatiable lust for power was ultimately his downfall. When his candidacy threatened the Democrats’ grip on power in California, they moved quickly to “nudge” him out of the race.
 
Speaking on Fox News Tuesday night, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said, “The real story here is how the Democrat Party controls its members through blackmail.” Miller added that the party has “a blackmail file on all of its politicians, and it uses them to leverage and control them until it’s time to release it!”
 
“That is how sick and twisted the Democrat Party is,” Miller said. “That’s the next thread we’ve got to pull out here.”
 
 
 
Democrats For Defeat
 
There is something deeply wrong in the Democrat Party today. Not since the Civil War have so many leading Democrats been hoping and praying for America’s defeat. And it’s not just the nuts on the far-left fringe. Even Democrat leaders and so-called “moderates” are hoping America loses the conflict with Iran.
 
House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries couldn’t wait to announce America’s surrender. Barely 48 hours after the conflict with Iran began, Jeffries was on national television saying this conflict “is going to end in failure.”
 
Tuesday, Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer mocked President Trump and our incredible military on the Senate floor. Instead of Operation Epic Fury, Schumer said, “Operation Epic Failure is a much more appropriate name” for this conflict. Talk about a gut punch to America’s courageous men and women in uniform!
 
Virginia Senator Mark Warner is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He told MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) that the Islamic Republic of Iran “can, on some level of truth, say, ‘We just took on America and Israel and fought them to a tie.’”
 
There is zero “truth” in that statement. Yet, Warner is spouting this lie while America’s sons and daughters are still in “harm’s way” in the Persian Gulf.
 
The U.S. military has sunk much of Iran’s navy and destroyed most of its air defense systems. We left its nuclear and ballistic missile programs in ruins. We eliminated the regime’s top leaders. Iran’s central bank is warning of an imminent economic collapse and 180% inflation. (That’s even worse than Bidenflation!)
 
Left-wing New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman is supposedly one of the smartest guys in the world. He’s got three Pulitzer Prizes sitting on his shelf. He’s also got one heck of a bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Here’s what he said this weekend on CNN:
 
“I find myself in a situation where I really want to see Iran defeated militarily because this regime is a terrible regime for its people in the region. And nothing would improve the region more than the replacement of this regime in Iran… So I’m all for that.”
 
BUT!
 
“The problem is I really don’t want to see Bibi Netanyahu or Donald Trump politically strengthened by this war because they are two awful human beings. . .  And, so, I really find myself torn.”
 
Torn between Trump and the tyrants of Tehran? That’s moral blindness.
 
 
 
Dangerous Alienation
 
America’s conflict with Iran has simmered for 47 years. But there’s never been a time when that conflict involving either Israel or the United States turned “hot” that leading Democrats so openly tried to undermine Israel or the United States.
 
Today’s Democrats are dangerously alienated from our own country. They’re intentionally undermining the morale of the men and women who keep us safe, and they don’t care.
 
All they think about is power. How to get power, how to keep power, and how to use their power to transform America into a secular Marxist state. (See below.)
 
Don’t forget that some high-profile Democrats posted a video urging members of the military to disobey orders from their officers and the commander-in-chief if they thought those orders were unconstitutional.
 
So, these Democrats were telling every soldier, sailor and airman to consider themselves experts on constitutional law and to question their orders. That is a prescription for chaos. Our enemies in Beijing, Moscow and Tehran couldn’t come up with a better plan to undermine our military than what those Democrats did.
 
The sad reality is that if you’re wearing a uniform of the United States today, you’re an enemy of the Democrat Party. If you’re a cop on the streets, you’re the enemy. If you’re a TSA agent, you’re the enemy. If you’re a Border Patrol agent or federal immigration police officer, you’re the enemy. If you’re in the military, you’re the enemy.
 
 
 
The Enemy Within
 
To better understand what has happened to the modern Democrat Party, look no further than social media influencer Hasan Piker. Many Democrats see Piker as their answer to Joe Rogan and other podcasters on the Right. They bring Piker in to campaign for them, and he is a close ally of rising Democrat star Zohran Mamdani.
 
He is also emblematic of America’s failed, globalist immigration policies and the lie that “diversity is our strength.” Piker’s family is Turkish, and while he was born in New Jersey, he grew up with his family in Turkey. His uncle is left-wing radical Cent Uygur. 
 
Piker said America “deserved” the 9/11 attack. He said Israel is “a thousand times” worse than Hamas. He broadcasts jihadist propaganda on his social media platforms. He hates capitalism and private property and urged people to “kill” their landlords.
 
And, at a Yale University debate Tuesday, Piker claimed, “The fall of the USSR was one of the greatest catastrophes of the 20th century.” He explained, “America was no longer contested around the globe… The U.S. has produced disaster after disaster after disaster after disaster.”
 
Yet more and more Democrats, including “moderate” Ro Khanna and Tom Steyer (a leading Democrat candidate for governor of California), are embracing Piker.
 
 
 
Moron Mark
 
Senator Mark Warner’s remarks on CNN this weekend made it clear that he has no business being on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
 
When asked about President Trump’s strategy in the Persian Gulf, Warner said, “I don’t understand how blockading the Strait of Hormuz is going to somehow push the Iranians into opening it. I don’t get the connection there.”
 
First, we are blocking Iran’s ports, not the Strait of Hormuz. Ninety percent of the Iranian regime’s revenue depends on oil sailing out of Iranian ports and through the Strait of Hormuz. While the conflict has raised oil prices, those high prices don’t do the Iranian regime any good if they can’t sell and ship their oil. Trump’s blockade is bankrupting Iran.
 
At the same time, it’s benefiting the United States. A record 171 oil tankers are now headed for U.S. refineries in the Gulf of America.
 
Warner also whined about the continued threat from Iran’s ballistic missiles. But Warner, other Democrats, and even Sen. Rand Paul were telling us that Iran’s growing missile stockpile wasn’t a threat to the United States. Now, they’re saying Trump hasn’t stopped the threat they previously claimed didn’t exist.
 
Perhaps the biggest surprise we discovered during this conflict was how large Iran’s conventional military build-up has been. It was all done to protect their nuclear weapons program and to control the Strait of Hormuz so that when they moved on Israel or we had to engage Communist China in the Pacific, we would suddenly discover that Iran was too strong to confront.
 
The whole narrative of the media and the Democrat Party is that Donald Trump is so dumb and has no idea what he is doing. Of course, the media will never challenge Warner or other Democrats by asking them, “What is your plan to prevent a disastrous future encounter with Iran?”
 
Their only response is “robust diplomatic negotiations.” But “robust diplomatic negotiations” under Barack Obama and Joe Biden are what allowed the Iranian regime to become so dangerous before President Trump decided to “lance the boil.”
 
 
 
Tax Day
 
My old boss, President Ronald Reagan, was fond of saying, “Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the Democrats believe every day is April 15th.” Thanks to President Trump and congressional Republicans, this April 15th is less taxing for millions of Americans. According to the Treasury Department: 

• Over 53 million Americans claimed at least one of President Trump’s signature new tax cuts.
• Over 6 million filers claimed No Tax on Tips, with an average deduction of over $7,100.
• Over 25 million filers claimed No Tax on Overtime, with an average deduction of over $3,100.
• Over 30 million seniors claimed the Enhanced Deduction for Seniors, with an average deduction of over $7,500.
• Over 1 million filers claimed the No Tax on Car Loan Interest on their new American vehicles, with an average deduction of over $1,800.
• 5 million new Trump Accounts (savings accounts for children) were opened, with 1.2 million eligible for the $1,000 federal contribution.
• Over 34 million families benefited from the enhanced Child Tax Credit.
• Over 105 million filers benefited from the permanently doubled standard deduction.

By the way, congressional Democrats voted against every single one of these tax cuts. Just something to remember in November.
