People often express their frustration with politics by saying, “There’s no difference between the two parties.” That’s not really true. They are very different on some very fundamental issues.
 
Maybe there is something you like about the Democrat Party. But any Christian who takes their faith seriously needs to understand that today’s Democrat Party is waging war on the religious liberty of Christians. Here’s a battle we just won.
 
Washington state has been forced to accept a permanent injunction or a ban on enforcing certain regulations related to foster parents. Specifically, the state previously demanded that foster parents must affirm a child’s gender delusions and agree to use “preferred pronouns” and “socially transition” a child under their care.
 
That means Christian foster parents were forced to call a boy “she” and to allow that boy to wear dresses.
 
Shane and Jennifer DeGross, who had been foster parents for nine years, objected to the new gender identity policy. When their foster license came up for renewal, it was denied by the state.
 
So, they sued Washington for violating their First Amendment religious liberty rights. A federal judge ruled in their favor. Now, Washington state will no longer force Christian foster parents to deny biological reality and biblical truth regarding sex and gender.
 
Of course, Washington state is completely controlled by Seattle’s left-wing Democrats, which is why the religious liberty of Christian foster parents was in jeopardy. You won’t find these anti-Christian policies in conservative states.
 
But left-wing states, including California, Maryland and Massachusetts, currently force Christian foster parents to push the radical LGBTQ agenda on children. The Biden/Harris administration tried to force every state in the country to essentially ban Christians from serving as foster parents. Thankfully, President Trump repealed that regulation.
 
There’s an irony here. It wasn’t that long ago when openly homosexual couples couldn’t qualify to be foster parents or adopt children because it was considered inappropriate to expose children to such “lifestyles.” Now Democrat-run states try to force children to be exposed to LGBTQ conduct and propaganda, and they even want to force Christian foster parents to do it.
 
 
 
Leftist Ignorance On Full Display
 
Speaking of the Left’s hostility to faith, MS NOW host Katy Tur put her ignorance of America’s founding on full display this week.
 
Tur, like many leftists, was appalled that Christians gathered on the National Mall Sunday to rededicate America to God. She was particularly disturbed by remarks from Speaker Mike Johnson, who spoke the simple truth that our rights come from God, not government.
 
Tur and so many other people have never been taught the core ideas of the American founding. So, she said this to one of her panelists:
 
“What about this passage from Mike Johnson declaring that our rights do not derive from government? ‘They come from You, our Creator and heavenly Father.’ Is this him putting God over the Declaration of Independence?”
 
Obviously, Katy Tur has never read the Declaration of Independence. The first sentence of the second paragraph states the main idea of America:
 
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
 
In 2000, I visited dozens of high schools and asked students if they could finish the sentence that begins, “We hold these truths…” Virtually no one could.
 
 
 
Defeatist Democrats
 
For weeks now, the Democrat message on Iran has been “Donald Trump is losing the war. Iran is winning.” Rep. Seth Moulton tried to push that line during a recent congressional hearing. Admiral Bradely Cooper, commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East, put Moulton in his place. Fortunately, the American people are not falling for this lie.
 
A new Fox News poll finds that even though Americans want the war to end as quickly as possible, 65% say America is winning. Only 34% say Iran is winning. Diving deeper into the details of the poll, only four demographic groups believe Iran is winning, and they strongly overlap: Democrats, liberals, Harris voters, and college-educated white women.
 
Here’s another revealing data point on another subject. The same poll found that half of Democrats believe the assassination attempt against President Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was staged. That level of delusion and indoctrination is almost unprecedented in our country.
 
We have the shooter in custody. His own family turned him in. We have his manifesto stating he intended to kill President Trump and members of his cabinet. But unhinged leftists refuse to believe the truth.
 
Well, I suppose that really shouldn’t surprise us since they also think men can get pregnant! All of which begs the question: Why would anyone trust these left-wing lunatics with power?
 
 
 
Putting Americans Last
 
When Abigail Spanberger was running for governor of Virginia last year, she tried really hard to convince voters she was a moderate. But as soon as she took office, she threw the moderate mask away and demonstrated that she was another far-left Democrat. And she just did it again.
 
Spanberger signed an executive order banning federal immigration police from being near polling places on Election Day. Now why would she be concerned about immigration police being near polling places? No U.S. citizen would have anything to worry about.
 
But if you’re an illegal alien who has been registered to vote by Democrats, you might be more than just a little nervous about trying to vote. In fact, you probably won’t bother trying at all. And that’s exactly what Spanberger is afraid of.
 
Her executive order is just another reminder that Republicans need to pass the SAVE America Act ASAP. The act requires proof of citizenship when someone registers to vote, and it requires people to present a valid ID when they do vote.
 
This commonsense measure is overwhelmingly supported by the American people—75% support proof of citizenship to register to vote and 81% support needing an ID to vote. You don’t get numbers like that without broad agreement from both Republicans and Democrats.
 
But elected Democrats overwhelmingly oppose the Save America Act. Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer called it “Jim Crow 2.0.” Why would any politician and any political party be so concerned about requiring people to prove who they are?
 
Well, I think we all know the answer. Democrats want illegal aliens to vote in our elections. And that is a national scandal!
 
 
 
Stoking Racial Strife
 
After the Supreme Court issued new guidance on how the Voting Rights Act should be applied, Democrats have been making claims that are total lies. Not only are they lies, they are the most damaging lies you can tell in America today.
 
They are telling Black Americans that Republicans—the Party of Abraham Lincoln—is trying to take away their right to vote. Here’s just one grossly misleading headline: “Supreme Court Undermines Black Political Participation.”
 
That kind of rhetoric fuels division, unrest and political violence. The left-wing media are amplifying the lie.
 
What the Supreme Court actually ruled is that drawing congressional districts where race is the primary factor is unconstitutional. You cannot create districts designed only to elect a white candidate, and you cannot create districts that only a Black, Asian, or Hispanic candidate can win.
 
There are no quotas in Congress. We do not assign congressional seats based on race. This is a fundamental American principle. Yet this principle is now being attacked with Marxist rhetoric that is rooted in division and conflict.
 
Democrats seem to believe that Black Americans will blindly accept this narrative without question. I hope and pray they are wrong. I saw a Black woman recently saying she’s tired of hearing it. For 45 years, she has been told her voting rights were being threatened, yet no one has ever stopped her from voting.
 
 
 
Bob Woodson, R.I.P.
 
Bob Woodson died this week at the age of 89. I worked with Bob for decades, going back to the Reagan years. He was an actual civil rights leader, although the Left would never call him that. Bob Woodson fought for Black empowerment and opportunity, not handouts and welfare programs.
 
He was despised by many Black leaders. But he always received enthusiastic audiences when he spoke with struggling inner-city minorities and explained what was happening and what they could do about it. They heard that message so rarely.
 
Bob loved America, and he hated the way the Left lied about our history. So, he and other scholars put together a wonderful program to counter the radical 1619 Project. They called it “1776 Unites.” As the name suggests, its stories and curriculum highlight “what is best in our national character and what our freedom makes possible even in the most difficult circumstances.”
 
In a healthy country, Jesse Jackson would be seen as the rabble-rouser, and Bob Woodson would be recognized as a true civil rights leader.
