Pennsylvania Democrats: Weak, Fake, and Failed Leadership
Pennsylvania Democrats have baggage, scandals, and controversies.
BOB HARVIE (PA-01) IS FULL OF SCANDALS
- Bob Harvie, Bucks County Commissioner, played politics with children’s lives when he replaced a popular school resource officer from a local high school without first consulting law enforcement.
- Harvie came under fire for counting invalid ballots during a Senate recount.
- This fueled an effort to oust Harvie with a petition to impeach him receiving over 4,000 signatures.
- Harvie used thousands of taxpayers’ dollars from an opioid settlement to fund an LGBTQ club for teenagers.
- Harvie was wrapped up in an FBI investigation of a pay-to-play scandal while he served as Falls Township Supervisor.
BOB BROOKS (PA-07) IS INAUTHENTIC AND A HYPOCRITE
- The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee has anointed Brooks as their preferred candidate, creating a messy primary and a headache for national Democrats.
- Brooks is inauthentic.
- Brooks has billed himself as a “working class fighter” but struggled to answer what that means when confronted by a voter in an embarrassing gaffe.
- Brooks was caught on camera being coached by a Pete Buttigieg staffer on how to be more authentic.
- Brooks was caught airing out inter-party drama when he suggested that Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro asked Brooks to endorse a Republican treasurer, only for Brooks to walk back the comments when he was called out by his fellow Democrats.
- Brooks is already outing himself as a phony:
- He recently released an agenda where he calls for a ban on members of Congress to trade stocks, become lobbyists, institute term limits, overturn a landmark Supreme Court finance case, and break up corporate monopolies.
- Brooks has already broken those promises, owning hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of stocks, being a registered lobbyist, refusing to sign a term limits pledge, taking dark money, and investing in corporate monopolies.
- Brooks is too extreme for Pennsylvania as he’s stated he wants to “haul and charge” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who are tasked with arresting and deporting illegal criminals.
- Amidst all of his campaign woes, Brooks is also being sued by his former mother-in-law for defrauding her of more than $162,000.
PAIGE COGNETTI (PA-08) IS OUT OF TOUCH WITH NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA
- Scranton mayor Paige Cognetti is an Ivy League elitist who admitted she moved to Scranton to launch her career.
- Cognetti owns a second home at a ski resort within a gated community.
- Cognetti recently broke her oath to her constituents in Scranton when she ran for reelection as mayor, while at the same time announcing her run for Congress, knowing she wouldn’t serve her full term.
- Cognetti has been virtually absent from her mayoral duties as she campaigns for Congress, even facing heat from fellow Democrats for failing to do her job.
- Cognetti has a failed record to run on as Scranton mayor. She:
- Oversaw a spike in crime, including homicides and a new wave of gang activity.
- Reduced maternity leave and sick leave for public workers.
- Imposed draconian lockdowns during the Covid pandemic, including threatening churchgoers with the police during Easter Sunday and attacking July 4th celebrations.
JANELLE STELSON (PA-10) IS A CARPETBAGGER
- Janelle Stelson is a carpetbagger who owns a home 25 miles outside the district she wants to represent, only renting within the district to secure temporary residency while she campaigns.
- Stelson was born in Alaska, raised in Seattle, and started her career in Washington, D.C., before moving to Pennsylvania.
- Stelson has admitted that she would raise taxes if elected.
- Stelson refuses to support commonsense voter ID laws that an overwhelming majority of Americans support.
- Stelson has made racist comments, calling Asian restaurants “cat bars.”
